With many kit clubs reducing cards (I'm looking at you AE kits) and just generally changing their content to be much more sparse, I'm considering subscribing to the SC Documenter Kit, as I'm an avid pocket scrapper and really do use cards more than just about anything else in a kit. Do folks who subscribe, particularly if you also subscribe (or have in the past) to other kits, feel it's worth it? Useable? Good for not-so-fancy, inside-the-pocket scrapping?
I checked out the SC thread but it's too robust for this specific question! I read enough to realize the Inked CS is garbage though. Does the bad CS negatively impact the experience getting the kit?
Thanks so much for your help everyone! My PL albums thank you, too!

I haven’t subscribed to SC in years because I got tired of their random cards and odd color schemes. I’ve never had a problem with Inked’s CS, it’s the fact that I have to contact them so often because of constant Quality Control and other issues.
I have happily subscribed to Elle’s Studio for years. You can cancel any time (no penalty), add things on to bundle with your kit during the bundling period (or not if you don’t want extras that month), no issues with quality, and they don’t operate on the FOMO marketing that Inked does, so you can generally get what you want without worrying it will sell out immediately. Plus there are some subscribers only discounts each month. I find their cards very easy to use.

I have subscribed to the DK since its inception and I think the cards are a good quality, the colors are rich and saturated, and I find most of the cards usable. I am not a pocket scrapper, I use the cards on my 12x12 pages (cut them apart, use as journal blocks, etc.), but I don't have trouble using the cards, especially since they are double sided.

I'm currently subscribed to the SC documenter kit and I find the card quality really good. I find the designs really useful especially with them being double sided. For the most part the embellishments are good but the stamp quality sucks right now. I used to sub to AE story kits but while the theme idea is cool sometimes the kits worked well for PL and other times it didn't. And lately with the change to include 6x8 and 3x8 papers it took away from the amount of journalling cards in the kit. Only a part of those pages were able to be cut down to use in pocket pages. I would pay premium price for that kit, not have it totally usable and I rarely if ever watched the classes (my issue not theirs) so value for me in a kit is the amount of journalling cards, so I'm doing SC for this year. We'll see how it goes.

I would recommend the SC DK kit and it has been my favorite compared to other options. I've always liked the majority of the card designs (even when you see some designs that get recycled, that usually doesn't bother me) and think that the mix of embellishments where good and the price point was reasonable. If you browse through the past kits and find you like the card designs/colors, I think you would be very happy with it. That being said, I did just cancel my DK sub after many years (well with 1 year off in there to catch up on using them). My #1 reason for getting it has always been the little stamp set and they went to acrylic rather than photopolymer that they used to be. The quality of stamping and long-term use of them basically make them junk IMO so the kit isn't a great value to me anymore. I'll plan to watch and pick some up on sales if the price is right. I'm content to work through my backlog And I agree with your comment about the cutting back on cards in other kits! I had planned to pick up AE's SBTM kit and veered away with the change in cards. Although I wouldn't be opposed to cutting up the larger sheets you get into pocket sizes, so I may rethink that eventually. I had subbed for a couple years before and also have a small backlog to work through so I'm content for now.

I’ve subbed to the SC documenter kit since the beginning taking 2 1 year breaks. IMO, it’s the best one out there (for me and my style). I’ve tried many others. SC and inked is known for shitty customer service, though I’ve never experienced any of these issues personally.
I took off one year because I wasn’t doing Project Life. 2022 I tried using Paper Person, disaster. So now I’m back with SC.
Others that I’ve tried: Paper Person-so expensive. Redundant. Her colors and themes are too hard to work with. Quality issues, spelling mistakes.
Elles studio - probably the best value out there. I found it too cutesy and redundant. I loathe purple, there was a lot of purple the times I bought the kits.
Cocoa Daisy - too much for me. I prefer cleaner lines to SC. When I subbed I found there were not enough journal cards, too many filler and they were printed on paper with some gloss to it. Ink smudged a lot. Their ordering process was a nightmare, 70 plus items in each release is too much.
AE - used to love but too focused now. Don’t like 6x8 inclusions.

I subbed at the beginning, quit SC for a few years, and then re-subbed just to the documenter kit; I like it and find the cards and embellishments usable and good quality. I have to say -- for me, a lot of the SC experience Back In The Day was the monthly frenzy to order add-ons and so forth before they sold out, and, now that I just get this kit, all of my negative SC experiences are gone . I don't love the stamp that comes with the kit is probably my only complaint. It doesn't bother me, however, and sometimes I find elements in the set to use.

I get the documenter kit and while there are some misses, I use SC cards the most. The other companies have flimsy cardstock or too cutesy, or their colors are just too pastel.
IMHO the SC kit would be spot on (now, anyway) if they would drop the 3x4 stamp (its sucks now) and either lower the price (they wont) or and in some new textures life felt or something.

Thank you all so much! I ended up subscribing because although I like the aesthetics of the AE kits, the lack of journal cards really doesn't work for me and hearing that the SC kits are good quality and seem to have sufficient cards made me want to move forward. Thank you again, I really appreciate and value y'all's opinions!
