gillyp the bag is super cute! Is that the leftover yarn from your bat shawl? No, although I can see why you think that. I did this cushion front with some of the bat yarn and when I’m in the right frame of mind for it I will do the back in black with just purple roses and straight, thorny stems.

This morning I read an article about Delia Barry, the 83 year old Irish woman who knit the sweaters for Banshees of Inisherin. Thought some of the knitters on the thread might enjoy it. Here is a link that should allow you to read w/o logging in. Enjoy! A Knitwear Sensation at 83

In 2022 I signed up for a year long quilting project which started last October. Each month a new block or two has been released. For various reasons, I only started the first block this weekend, I'm so far behind. I've decided to focus more and make some inroads into it. This is the end project, it comes in different colourways, I'm doing the cream version thethreadhouse.co.uk/product/summer-breeze-quilt-kit-jo-without-background-pre-order/

Im on square number 98 of 100 from my 100 granny squares book and I’m so frustrated. The last few in the book are rated “extra advanced” but I had no trouble with the first one with that label. I shouldn’t be having trouble with this one either because it’s mosaic crochet and I already know how to do that. But the written instructions are so convoluted and the charts wackadoo, so it’s in the naughty corner for now. But I will not let it beat me!

I finished Sushi's catghan, it's been roundly ignored so far It's not as big as I wanted it to be but the yarn ran out.

snoopy - adorable! gillyp - I LOVE the skulls and roses, and I'm not a huge fan of skulls. I prefer them covered in skin and hair, personally. But your colour-way is so beautiful. finsup - I'll bet gillyp and jeremysgirl can help with your mosaic crisis. I've never tried any, but I want to. I need to add it to my ever-growing have-to-try list. lainey - an autumn glory. Just beautiful. Contrary moggy - if she won't touch it, send it my way!

I finished my hat and matching neck-warmer for my friend. Now I have to get it mailed tomorrow, and hope that it arrives in Colorado before it's too warm to wear.

I just love it! I’m also very impressed with your yarn pompom. Even with a pompom maker mine come out so bad, so I usually do a faux fur pom.

I’m overrun with yarn but did that stop me buying at Hobby Lobby today? No it did not. I hate myself every time I shop there because I think they’re terrible, but I’ve never found a cotton I like as much as theirs. I went to buy a couple of skeins of that and came home with 30 skeins of clearance yarn. Regular price would have been $228 and I paid $66. I particularly found it hard to resist the hand-dyed alpaca and merino ones.

Did you see the story about Justin Beiber at the Oscars? He didn't do the carpet walk, but he was seen backstage with a crocheted blanket around him...and it's Janie Crow's Persian Tiles! http://instagr.am/p/CpuiezDoCBn I'm happy for her to get this attention and hopefully she makes some money out of it. I wonder who made it? Maybe he has some crafting skills we didn't know about? I've done all her CALs and bought this pattern when it was first released, but haven't made it yet. except this article calls it a "quilted blanket"

I have made this one but in the Eastern Jewels colorway. It got me through a very trying time of grief.

I've made this design twice in the Eastern jewels colourway. Once for myself because it is such happy vibe and my friend loved it so much I made one for her. I think I've made at least three if not four of her designs, currently have mystical lanterns set up as a project to go. Hope Janie gets at lot of attention for her work. Maybe Justin is music's Tom Daley!

If I were Janie I’d have to contact him/his people and say I was the designer and ask him where he got it.

The level of density is what I love best about the pompon! Another fan of the colorway. My trick to getting it dense is to thread a needle with the yarn doubled, and that makes it grow quickly. If you fill the hole so that it's almost closed, you get a really dense ball.

Bought some new long glass headed pins so made a new weighted pin cushion. I mostly sew when on bed rest or in hospital now so needed cushion that is easy to keep track of. Didn`t have a pattern, saw something similar online. The tea part will sink a bit with use, (I hope). About 3" (7.5cm tall)

Lately, I have really been finding it a challenge to knit...I swear, my 2 cats will be sound asleep in the back bedroom for hours and I silently will pick up my project and here they both come running to sit in my lap. How do they know? I mean, I was moving out and about the house while they slept so I was making noise, so it isn't the noise that wakes them...can they smell the yarn from way back on the other side of the house? I'm of the philopsphy that if a pet wants to cuddle with me, I will put aside my knitting or my phone (they seem to know when I pull out my phone too) and give them the cuddles...our time is limited with them and I'd rather give them my attention while they are here and I can. Buy by golly, I do want to knit too...those with pets, how to you manage to knit/crochet when you pet is wanting your attention? I think I will have to go to the park and knit
