SBC Fest 2023! LIVE very shortly www.youtube.com/watch?v=FZdo0bavQNMwww.scrapbook.com/articles/sbcfestPer scrapbook.com "SBC Fest is back! Get ready for a virtual two-day all encompassing papercrafting event packed with card making and scrapbooking tutorials, techniques, and so much inspiration hosted by Scrapbook.com! Join some of your favorite crafty instructors like Dyan Reaveley, Frank Garcia, Paige Evans, and so many more! During the event, you will have the opportunity to chat along with the instructors and fellow crafters, plus enter giveaways that pop up!" Class line up looks good, I am excited to watch Frank Garcia (fangirl crushing right here) but I probably won't do his project as I am not great at mini books. Here is the supply list, but they stress you do not have to buy the supplies which I appreciate. www.scrapbook.com/articles/sbcfest-march-2023-supplies?utm_sbc-campaign=SBC+Fest+-+Hosted+by+Scrapbook.com!&utm_sbc-source=blog Did you watch last year? Thoughts? Are you planning on watching/participating this year? What looks fun/who are you excited to see in the line up? I LOVE that is is on youtube and not FB. Also appreciate that they do not charge for this event!

My family will be in town that weekend, so I don't think I'll be able to watch this live. I will try to watch after though.
I enjoyed watching last year, I for sure learned a thing or two. I think I am also still dizzy from how fast the chat went by, though! 😆

DW is out of town that weekend so I was planning on binge watching scrapbooking classes in between packing up the house. Looks like the list of possibilities for that weekend just got bigger!

Was last year's over the summer? I feel like I watched part of it, but that wouldn't have been in March.

This is tomorrow! Are you ready? Are you playing along or just watching? just watching I think - if there's something I want to try out, I'll do so afterwards at my own pace. And I need to charge my tablet tonight so I can scrap as I watch.

This is tomorrow! Are you ready? Are you playing along or just watching? Thanks for the reminder. Like Linda , I plan to watch at least some of the classes tomorrow. Really interested in what Dyan Reavley is teaching. The others I may graze during or after the event to see if there is something that tweaks my interest. If a technique looks fun, I will often try it during or after the class, but I don't try to create something exactly like what the instructor has done.

Here's the schedule page, looks like a chat is already starting! www.scrapbook.com/articles/sbcfest-schedule-spring-2023?utm_sbc-campaign=SBC+Fest+-+Hosted+by+Scrapbook.com!&utm_sbc-source=blog I plan on watching tomorrow/having it on while I work, in the background. I'm with you grammadee , I am very interested in watching Dyan Reavley create. I do wish that like Jess Crafts they all had to submit a PDF so we could see what they were doing. Last year, I really tried to craft along with most of it and it would have been SO helpful to know things in advance, like what to have cut, ect. It seems like if you are buying their bundle you should kind of know what you need to have prepped. That said, I am excited to watch and I think it will be really fun. Saturday I have blocked off all day to play with paper and watch, yay!! Edited to add that someone else is nerdy like me and likes to have their homework done ahead of time in the chat, they asked about prep and scrapbook.com came back with " Scrapbook.com Hey friends! Shannon Allor and Jess Crafts have posted some helpful tips to get read for their classes on their YouTube channels!" So it looks like a couple of presenters are letting people know what to have done ahead of time, which is awesome!

I'm just getting moving for the day and turned it on. Looks like Shannon Allor is just getting started with her class. I think I've missed a couple hours but will go back to the beginning once today's event is done.

Congrats, kmage on the prize alert!
So far I have watched parts of a couple of classes. Enjoying the techniques portions of them. justjac , do you remember Dyan creating her backgrounds with paint applied with a baby wipe? Now I want to do a bunch of backgrounds... And I don't have those exact letter dies, but I really like how Laura Evangeline used those negative spaces, so I either have to try it right away or work on remembering that. When I get annoyed by the occasional infomercial vibe, I remind myself that all of this is FREE.

Good Morning! 23 min to go before Paige Evans takes the stage. It's too bad about the technical difficulty from yesterday, I hope they get that sorted out soon. It's weird because the video was working perfectly for me last night about 6 ish, then today it doesn't play. The shopping bug got me though, that plus the freebie dies incentive!

It's weird because the video was working perfectly for me last night about 6 ish, then today it doesn't play. The shopping bug got me though, that plus the freebie dies incentive! I watched bits and pieces of the first two classes yesterday, then put the video on pause, but I couldn't access it at all later yesterday. Today I get the message that this is a Private video and not sure how I would log in. Assuming that is part of the problem they are having?
Ready for Paige Evans! Anyone else you are particularly excited to see?

Anyone else you are particularly excited to see? I am excited to see Frank Garcia. While I don't do mini books (looks like Paige is doing a mini book too, bummer for me I was hoping she'd do a scrapbook page, oh well) I LOVE his art style and he makes beautiful things. Paige certainly had a lot of supplies on her list for that tiny little album, lol.

Paige certainly had a lot of supplies on her list for that tiny little album, lol. If I made mini albums like that--which I don't--I would prob need just the set of nesting dies (or any set, really) and some scraps. No way would I cut a tiny shape like that from a WHOLE PAGE OF PAPER! Did you make anything as a result of yesterday's classes? I have a birthday card with some layers that need drying before assembly.

Did you make anything as a result of yesterday's classes? I have a birthday card with some layers that need drying before assembly. RIGHT!!?? I am like, "You wrecked a whole sheet of paper!" lol.... I did not, I had to work all day yesterday, but I watched. I probably will watch a couple more things, REALLY enjoyed Anna Komenda's card, so will probably try that technique really soon. Something so satisifying about ink blending. I also loved the doggie page, forgot her name, but that was a great page. Right now I am just working on my own scrapbook page while I watch. Someone in the chat just said that Paige was the queen of layering and I *almost* typed, "No, that is Shimelle!" but thought oh that's rude...

Ha ha! I think of Paige as the Queen of deconstructing and then reconstructing. When I use her papers, I let her do the paper piecing work and then I can just layer the papers she designs. Glad you are getting some scrapping done, kmage. I am spinning (well, more like slowly turning) in circles. Can't seem to settle on anything. Trying out different techniques and looks, but not even sure how I would use them. Dabbling in SBCfest stuff and SCT Crop & Create homework. The two birthdays coming up that I need cards for are my ds and my dgs, so the flowery, poofy, stuff I am doing today won't work for that.

I missed the first two classes again today (Paige and Joy) so I will go back later to watch. Paige is really great at taking techniques found outside of paper crafting and applying to her projects. She's a great paper manipulator. I always enjoy her classes. I don't think I'm familiar with Joy.
I liked Becki's layout, but she seemed nervous in her presentation, which made me nervous! I had to mute her after a few minutes and just watch while I was doing other things.
I had Robin's class on while I was packing, but I didn't pay attention. I'm not hot foiling until after the move so I will come back to this one later.
I watched the Jess Crafts class while packing, too. While the instruction was good, I thought the final cards were pretty lackluster as a finished project. I like her idea of using a larger shape to cover the cut out piece on each card.
I really loved Frank's class and enjoy making mini albums. While my style is not shabby chic, I liked watching him construct the cover. I think he was a great instructor and you could tell he really loves the product he works with (which is great, since his name is on it! lol).
I think there are two classes from yesterday that I haven't seen yet. I see videos are available again, so maybe I'll do that now!

I really enjoyed Paige and Frank's classes. This was my first time seeing him teach and he was wonderful. I like how he took the center out of the flowers and added a smaller flower inside. Never thought about that. That album turned out beautiful!
I will go back and watch a few of the other classes from yesterday. This was a good event and I hope next year they have more classes. They ended at 12pm pst.
