I just saw this reel on Tizzy - Florida peas, is there ANY buzz about this bill? Tizzy claims there are enough votes to get it passed, which basically has something written into the bill that will cap medical expenses to 140% of what medicade pays www.instagram.com/reel/CpdzWGNAZ7T/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_linkHe goes on to say he thinks DeSantis is behind this, and would look to do this for the whole US if elected. But I ask: why the hell would you even get insurance then? I mean, I know by law you have to carry car and homeowners insurance, but seriously? What is the point of insurance then? I'm tired and haven't had coffee yet but I saw this and my blood ran cold.

Admittedly, I have a bias against DeSantis. But, I suspect the only players to benefit from the bill are insurance companies. The ones who will lose the most are the plaintiff attorneys and their network of doctors.

Something needs to be done about the property insurance issue in FL. My office is licensed to write in FL. But it's next to impossible to find coverage, especially if it's close to the water (and I don't mean beachside, just in close proximity).
From what little I just read up on the bill, there are some good things. The cap of what Medicare would pay for someone who doesn't have medical insurance, there needs to be a cap somewhere on how much is paid out. Policy limits are there for a reason.
