I just popped over to the FJ site and spotted that she's doing digital mini kits - what great news, I'm so happy about this!

Glad the site isn't totally gone for the fans of her stuff. The new stuff is cute.

I don't care for the rabbit girls. They are kind of weird.

They're pretty, I really do like her collections, but I really wish her digitals were priced more in line with other digi designers, she is way overpriced for what her kits include.
As a quick comparison:
FJ kit - $8.97 6 6x8 papers 4 3x4 journaling cards ephemera - no count given but it looks like 12 pieces: 5 scalloped borders, 1 tag, 1 label, 2 floral clusters, 1 word piece, 1 banner with word, 1 girl
Traci Reed's latest collection, Felicity - $9.00 20 papers (size not specified but they are typically 12x12) 8 solids 5 complete alphas 115+ digital embellishments

And I also think it's a huge negative that she only makes 6x8 papers for her kits. Yes, I *can* Photoshop them to get them to be a 6x6 size, but I dont want to do that just to be able to make a page.

Oh poop! $9 is waaaaaaay too much for what's in the kits, as lovely as they are. I find that all traditional paper scrapbooking designers / companies are over priced with their digital products, compared to digital designers. Also interesting that you used Traci Reed as an example of better pricing, because as much as I ADORE her stuff, I find it expensive compared to my other favourite designers. I still buy it though (on sale) because I love it.

I was going to pull info for one of Katie Pertiet's kits but when I clicked in my address bar Traci Reed was one of the recent sites I'd been to, and there's been a lot of talk recently about her kits, so I took the lazy way out and went with her. I'll admit I typically only buy kits when on sale, which just further highlights how out of touch FJ's pricing is.

I guess it comes down to how much you rate a designers work? If I know I'll happily use and re-use a kit - as with Felicity Jane and Kelly Bangs - I'm happy to pay pretty much whatever, as I know I won't go off those images.
I feel the same way about clothes and shoes... if an item fits me brilliantly and feels great, I'm quite happy to pay whatever.
If, to you, it's like getting the Kate Spade handbag of printables, that feels good to me in the creative process too.
