I found a fabric over the door pocket holder, but it has shelves, not sleeves. I had a lot of ribbon, and I didn’t really want to downsize it, so this was a great solution for me. Each shelf holds 15 or so spools If I have remnants, I store in a small plastic bin for tags, etc.

Years snd years ago Target had some snap-together gift ribbon holder boxes on clearance. They have slots on the side for the ribbon but I don’t use those. They are stored by color.
I have given tons of ribbon to the thrift store but still need to get rid of more. I don’t have a much use for ribbon anymore but still like to keep some for non crafty things that come up.

scrapmaven, this reminds me that I need to start using ribbon more. My ribbon used to be stored by color in those large plastic jars (from Making Memories) and empty nut jars from Sam's Club. The colors outgrew the jars so now I have them still separated by color into plastic bags and stored in several of those decorative cardboard boxes that you can get at Michael's, Joann's, Hobby Lobby, etc. I started with the ribbon when I was making small sbs with the big binder rings and tied the ribbon onto the rings. Need to start using the ribbon for pages now.

my longer ribbons are on their spools and "filed" in a drawer by color. i have three drawers of ribbons on spools.
once the ribbons gets down to about 4-6 inches, they are thrown in a loose ribbon bin with other trims.

Here is picture from 2009 of my storage. I bought those Cropper Hopper plastic holders that look like large embroidery thread holders. They are wonderful. You could make your own from the Chopping Mats from Dollar Tree.

I have lots of systems, none of them are perfect. I might be happier if I stuck with just one. I have ribbon in 2-4 foot sections on little square plastic pieces about 3 inches square with slots hanging on binder rings on the inside of a cupboard door. That works well, but only for shorter sections. I have some still on spools in rain gutters on top of my shelves, but it takes up a lot of room. I have some trims wound on clothespins in a bin. And I have some wrapped around chipboard, about 5 x 7. Good luck, I hope you find something that works for you.

I rarely use ribbon. Cut lengths (usually a yard each) are stored in a large Anchor Hocking glass cracker jar with a screw lid that doubles as colorful decor. A handful of full spools are stored in a clear narrow fridge/pantry bin on the edge of a shelf, so I can quickly pull & snip the amount needed.
Although not a scrapbooker, a friend stores her gift-wrapping ribbon in colanders. Each colander holds a different size ribbon, & each color of ribbon is pulled through the holes (so the hole sizes on each colander differs to accomodate the various ribbon widths). It's whimsical & functional.

I put them in a sandwich or snack size plastic bag. They are sorted by color in gallon sized plastic bags.

In my craftroom,
If the ribbon is on a spool it's neatly stored in a shoebox size plastic container. If it's loose then it's stuffed willy-nilly in a shoebox sized plastic container.
I just organized sequins, next up is the willy-nilly ribbon (that I never use).

I have the ones I use for scrapping in a small box on my desk. The longer pieces are wrapped around cardboard dividers, the smaller pieces are just loosely rolled and shoved in. I have half a dozen that are on the cardboard spools in there as well. I only have a couple of rolls of twine so they are in there as well (and used frequently).

Spools are lined up on a little 3-shelf stepped units with some punches (and probably other stuff I'm forgetting) on the upper/further back shelves.
Loose pieces/remnants are coiled up in drawer divider (compartments maybe 2x2 or a little smaller) arranged roughly in ROYGBIV order.

I store my ribbons on plastic ribbon cards that hang on split rings that are hanging on one of those over the door hangers. Works well for me because the ribbon doesn't get creased and I can look through it easily. Not sure how easy it is to buy the plastic ribbon cards these days. I bought them at the height of ribbon's popularity for scrapbooking. I know they can be found at an Australian site. www.craftonline.com.au/collections/all/products/chicory-chic-ribbon-ring-starter-setAttachments:

I don't like putting them on embroidery floss cards because then your ribbon is creased. I do have my favorite ones in a ziplock bag, though. That way I can easily take ribbon to crops. The cards on the ring is so pretty and handy at home but it doesn't travel well.

I store my scrapping ribbon in a drawer in one of my white/clear plastic 4-drawer Sterilite containers that sits on a bookshelf. I rarely use ribbon in scrapping, so I only have a few in my craft room. However, I have a huge collection of ribbon stored with my wrapping paper. I also use ribbon in wreath-making so that stuff is all stored near each other. A lot of my ribbon is in separate clear (plastic) shoe boxes, a few in actual cardboard shoe boxes, and some in a tin. (I have a lot of ribbon, LOL.) My most-used ribbon is stored in THIS Lazy Susan contraption. I bought it years ago (probably from the "as seen on tv" section of some big box store) and have long since stopped storing the food containers in it. Instead I co-opted the frame for ribbon storage. Each vertical section holds about 6-8 spools of ribbon depending on size, and I love that I can just spin it around to get what I need.
