I do not need another die-cutting machine but I might pick up the plates if they end up being more durable than the Gemini's current cutting plates. I do like some of the new features, but I'll wait to upgrade when my Gemini Jr. kicks the bucket.

Sheez, it's pricey! Until my Big Shot kicks the bucket, I'll keep using it. Hope I didn't jinx myself!

If you find it hard to manually die cut, especially a lot at once (I did some stuff for one of my little's classrooms), nevermind health problems that could benefit, there are plenty of ways to justify the purchase. Hell, just wanting it is a valid justification. 🤣

Hope I didn't jinx myself! $300 is expensive, but that's pretty much in line with competing electric machines of that size, plus the HSN package comes with extra stuff. The Big Shot Switch (the electric version of the Big Shot) is between $260-$300 (or even more depending where you buy it), and the Anna Griffin Empress machine is around $270. I gave my Big Shot to my sister after getting the Gemini Jr because I make lots of multiple cards and the cranking was doing a number on my arm, and my machine was having issues with really intricate dies. My sister has been loving the Big Shot though, so I'm glad its still getting used and it works for her. I hope your Big Shot continues to have a long life for you coloradocropper

Hell, just wanting it is a valid justification. 🤣 Well the teal one is still working too. LOL. I got the white one "because I wanted it". I kind of think of it as maintaining my hand strength. Use or lose it. At this point I don't have any problems using my tools.

I think they mentioned you can purchase the plates as a separate purchase

Good to hear the plates are improved. A few years ago when I first got my Gemini cutter I was using a new plate that didn’t just crack—it actually broke in two. After that I was extra careful catching the plates as they exited.
The big one took up too much room and weighed a ton. I gave it to my cousin and downsized to a Gemini Jr. last year. Hope they start making the new plates in the smaller size.
