***Tossed it. I usually will toss without hesitation. But with it being vacuum sealed, the color looked good. I paid good money for it, too. Oh, well. Lesson learned to put it front and center and prepare it within a couple of days or throw it in the freezer. Thanks for the replies! ***
When taking bacon out of the fridge this morning I noticed I had a pack of ground beef that expired in March 28th. The package is vacuumed sealed. Should I toss it or put it in the freezer? Mad at myself for forgetting about it.

If it doesn't have any discoloration, I'd freeze it.

I am inclined to throw out ground beef past date. It grows bacteria much more quickly than cuts. At least smell it if you are thinking about using it. That’s 4 days. A long time for ground beef that may have been packed a week ago or more.

My grandmother died from food poisoning, and the most likely item was expired ground beef, so I would toss.

Vacuumed packed, maybe. Ground beef is considered safe if used within 2 days post expiration date. Vacuumed sealed meat does last longer.
If really in doubt - toss.

Heck no. Why would you even risk it for less than $10?

No.

No way. As someone already said, ground beef is more prone to give food poisoning as it is, never mind that long past the date (which I assume was a "use or freeze by" date?) -- Not worth the risk.

I am always the outlier on these threads. I’ll use almost any outdated food. But ground beef that’s already four days past the Use By date? Even I would toss it.
