I took off Wednesday morning to go to the Portland CKC event. It’s a 3½ hour trip. It was an easy drive ... until I got to Portland. Somehow between my GPS, Oregon road signage, and my having a problem with right and left, and my difficulty with the written word, I managed to see a LOT more of Oregon than I had anticipated. The 3½ hr. trip took about 4½ long hours, but I got there.
The whole idea of going a day early was to go see the LSS’s in the area, there are 3 or 4 close to where I was staying, but after my navigational problems I decided I could just go visit the nice bar at the motel.
On Thursday the motel manager printed me instructions to the facility. The problem was the directions said to go East to Walker St. Walker St. is ¼ block West. So, I went to the Zoo and Veterans Memorial. I did manage to eventually find my way out to the venue with only one other mishap by taking a ramp going the wrong way, but I’m good with U turns.
Finally got there. Checked in, found a table, and spread all my stuff out. The tables are about 6’ and had 4 chairs, so I took my half. A couple of women took the other 2 spots while I was off shopping in the 10-booth venue, but they were only there for Friday.
All in all, it was a fun event. I think everybody had a good time. There was a massage person there, so I got one for 30 minutes. She worked on my knee for 15 minutes and my hip for 15 minutes. I didn’t feel much better until about an hour later neither my hip nor my knee was bothering me. The next morning I did a 10 minute session. That girl had stamina, she started at 9am and worked right into the evening both days with very little down time.
I met some new people, had some birthday cake, did a lot of scrap-lifting, demoed how to make an explosion page to 4 or 5 people, and I got a bunch of new ideas.
You should have been there.
