Charges have been filed in Federal Court but they are under seal so no clue to what they are. Santos is expect to appear in court tomorrow.

Just heard! Couldn't happen to a more deserving guy! Long list of possibilities..
According to the CNN report, “During his brief time in office, Santos has been accused of breaking campaign finance laws, violating federal conflict of interest laws, stealing cash meant for an Iraq War veteran’s dying dog, masterminding a credit card fraud scheme and lying about where he went to school and worked.

My guess is neither Sinema or Manchin will win re-election. I'm not a fan of Manchin but I would not count on his losing. He hasn't lost an election since the 90's. He hasn't officially announced that he's running, he might decide to retire, but I wouldn't count on that, either. And there's almost a zero chance that another Democrat could win in WV. www.politico.com/news/2023/05/08/manchin-west-virginia-senate-race-00095654WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, W.Va. — Republicans’ best option for unseating Sen. Joe Manchin: Pray that he retires first.
The longtime West Virginia Democrat might be the most endangered member of his party heading into 2024. But Republicans still see the contest against him as treacherous. Manchin is a West Virginia institution who has repeatedly defied the odds in a deep-red state.

What Marc Elias and his law firm is doing only represents part of the story when it comes to voting in this country. No question it’s important but it’s still only part of the story. The rest of the story centers around the choices people make when they vote. And that includes if they decide to vote. California one of the easiest states to vote. 2020 was the first year that CA automatically sent ballots to all registered votes. It was the election to get rid of trump. But yet only 70.8% of eligible voters voted. How come the other 29% couldn’t be bothered to vote? It could be argued 2020 was one of the most important elections this country had in a long time. But yet 29% in a state with no voter suppression laws and in a state where they sent you the ballot didn’t vote. After the 2016 election when number were examined it was determined that 4.4 million voters who voted for President Obama in 2012 didn’t vote for Hillary. A reminder trump won the electoral college by 77,000 votes spread between 3 swing states. Do you think he would have still won if that 4.4M had voted for Hillary like they did for President Obama? I don’t think so but we will never know for sure. Voter suppression is real but what has never been determined is exactly how many voters are affected by it vs those who have nothing stopping them from voting except themselves. The voters set the course this country follows by the choices they make when they vote. 154.6 million people voted in 2020 and they set the course for the country away from 4 years of chaos caused by trump. In 2022 only 107.7 million voted which altered the course again by bringing back that chaos. I love these polls when the voters claim they don’t like the direction of the country and blame the politicians when in fact the voters are steering the course by the choices they make when they actually show up and vote. Which brings me to the last mystery and that is why do those who have traditionally voted Republican continue to do it when you see what Republican politicians are doing on all levels of government? I mean seriously Neo-Nazi and white nationalists are part of today’s Republican Party. Do these voters believe in all this stuff or are they just deliberately ignoring it and continuing to vote Republican because they always have? It’s a mystery. And one that is killing this country. LA Times on CA voters
Washington Post and the missing 4.4 M voters
youGov America and reason people don’t vote. The reasons why people vote for Rs are lots of things, but it's not a mystery. You might disagree with them, but there are reasons why people vote for Rs - they agree with them on the culture wars, they think Rs are better for the economy, they support 2nd amendment rights, they think their taxes will be lower, they're anti-abortion, they think a divided government is better, they think Rs will solve immigration problems or crime, they think Rs will lower inflation, gas prices, they agree with the Republican policies during covid etc. White non-college educated men over the age of 45 are more likely to vote for Rs. I think in some cases, those voters feel alienated and resentful of the Democratic Party. Republicans and conservative media have successfully created this divide by creating racial tension and talking about states' rights. Voters across the board think candidates did a poor job of explaining their plans for the country, so some of that falls on Democrats for not explaining their positions more loudly and more clearly. And again, you can disparage young voters all you want, but they are responsible for holding back the red wave, especially in swing states. Without federal voting rights legislation to protect minority and young voters, it's never as simple as voting more or voting harder, especially in deep red states. www.brookings.edu/research/midterm-exit-polls-show-that-young-voters-drove-democratic-resistance-to-the-red-wave/www.pewresearch.org/short-reads/2022/11/03/key-facts-about-u-s-voter-priorities-ahead-of-the-2022-midterm-elections/www.nytimes.com/2021/09/08/us/politics/how-college-graduates-vote.html

Another meanwhile… Are they going to wheel her in? As a longtime Feinstein supporter she needs to retire. Now. I really wish she would retire. It well over due. They need someone up to the job. Retire and enjoy the rest of your life.
Ok I thought she should retire but with further information maybe not. She is on the Senate Judiciary Committee and while she was out sick they wanted to put a replacement on it and it was blocked by Republicans so the assumption is they would try and block her replacement if she retired. So I guess it is best if she doesn't retire just yet They need her vote to place Federal Judges which are being blocked if she isn't there.

^^^^^ We know McConnell blocked Merrick Garland for months after Scalia’s death. The Judiciary Committee can’t risk him blocking an appointment to replace Feinstein through some unfamiliar, yet legal, manipulations.
I wish Senator Feinstein good health until her retirement. She has stated she won’t be running in 2024.

Isn’t she advocating for discrimination? Wait, wait, wait… Do they want to back track and remove the ‘personhood’ they created for corporations so they had the same “rights” as people? Will that negate all the SC decisions based on said personhood?

Isn’t she advocating for discrimination? So much for freedom. If you don’t like what a company does don’t patronize them. Simple as that. No one needs Disney, Bud or Nike it’s not like a government entity.

More about Disney... LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. — Gov. Ron DeSantis’ tourism oversight board hired a new administrator Wednesday to run the district that oversees Walt Disney World, giving him a pay bump to $400,000 in part because of the federal lawsuit the company has filed in the escalating feud. In addition, the board also created a code enforcement system that could issue fines to Walt Disney World, which is known for meticulous care of its grounds. *** The system would make code violations subject to fines of up to $500 a day, determined by new code enforcement officers, who would answer to the administrator. The program would also authorize foreclosures on any liens. The resolution also created a special magistrate to hear appeals, who will be a licensed attorney appointed by the board. His or her decisions could still be appealed to a circuit court. Disney has prided itself on the maintenance of its parks and properties, which includes regular safety inspections. But DeSantis and the Legislature have been working to strip Disney of its ability to regulate itself, including passing a law giving the state the power to inspect the Disney World monorail at Disney World. nordot.app/1029106757631705914

They just can't find stuff against the Biden 'crime family' Read the whole article, it is well worth it. House Oversight keeps catching Trump scandals and not Biden in its probes of White HouseSarah K. Burris May 10, 2023, 7:26 PM ET ... As the GOP has desperately tried to tie Biden to his version of Hillary Clinton's Benghazi hearings, it's proved unsuccessful. But worse, according to Washington Post columnist Philip Bump, it only highlights questions about Donald Trump's administration. Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) admitted that there might not be a "there" there in the GOP's probe. Speaking to Fox Business on Wednesday, Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) confessed there will never be any proof of their claims. "You're not gonna get necessarily hard proof," Johnson told Maria Bartiromo. www.rawstory.com/oversight-committee-biden-financial-investigation/

He is really whining because the news covered the Santos arrest and not their performance of making things up. That Ron Johnson all but admitted in a different interview that had nothing but were going to “infer” the Biden Family was a crime family.
