QUESTION 2 (and thank you!)
I have switched to Hammermill CS, so I'm set for a nice smooth white CS. However, can you girls suggest a black CS and/or colored CS that you think also works especially well for foiling?
QUESTION 1
Well as predicted, I have a question.
Let's say I wanted to buy one easy to use, foolproof foiling plate to play with. For someone who has never seen a foiled card, let alone a foiling machine in action in person. Am a right that the less decorative the plate, the easier it would be to use? What do I look for in a plate? Do I want one with thin lines? Or would it be better to start with one that is a more solid image? Thanks in advance!
OP:
After C+C a new Seattle Area Crafters FB group was started. Hurray for finding local friends to card make with IN PERSON! The other day one of the women posted that she was giving away a Gemini Jr and the Gemini foiling system. I was the only one who expressed interest in it, so I drove out there today (she's way up in the mountains) and picked it up. She also gave me probably 30-ish packages of their foil in all kinds of colors.
TIMING IS EVERYTHING. Yes?
There are about 8 bags of other card-making stuff she set aside for me as well. Not sure if there are any foiling plates in there, but we'll see. I've forbidden myself to really go through any of it until I finish my taxes (hopefully by Monday evening). What a reward this will be!
So, now y'all won't have to listen to me debate whether or not to jump in to foiling any more. HURRAY. But you'll probably have to field a bunch of foiling questions now (double-edged sword so to speak). Thankfully, she told me of several resources/videos to look into. I CANNOT WAIT TO PLAY!
joblackford . There is a whole bunch of 12x12 patterned papers, ephemera, letter stickers, and probably other stuff I won't use. If you'd be interested in them for donation cards LMK and we'll figure out the least $$$ to get it out to you. Or, if you're going to be in town with a car, or several people to help you walk on the boat with all this stuff, we can do an in-person thing.
