I haven't used my electronic cutting machine in awhile and I recently bought a cut file that has 24 different colors/pieces Do you use one mat and keep taking the pieces off and running it through and keep repeating? Or do you use a couple mats so you don't have to keep reusing the same mat and can load them with different colors of cardstock? Hope that makes sense. I had packed up my scrapbook stuff but now I have it moved and out again and am ready to get going. I was thinking I should place an order for a couple mats to make it easier on myself. I have so many cut files I want to use and stop buying embellishments. Thanks for any suggestions.

I've only ever used one mat at a time but that's an aweseome idea for those more involved projects

I tend to swap between 2-3 mats depending on the project. I can have one in the machine. One ready to load when that’s done cutting. Then there’s the one with the already cut items I’m carefully removing from the mat and cleaning all the little bits off too.

I use multiple mats, although I sometimes put multiple colors on the same mat and just make sure I set up the cut correctly for it.
It just depends on the project. I do keep multiple mats ready to go at all times.

Multiple, so I can cut different colors back to back and do the adhesive part of my scrapbook page all at once. They can also be scrubbed and regain some stickiness and so sometimes one will be drying in my bathroom and I can still cut with the other one.

Thanks for the video link, interesting to see how she works because she uses a lot of cut files in her layouts.

i have a bunch of mats but i keep using the same one. i have a brother machine and their mats are not readily available in B&M stores. you can't really use generic ones and the brand ones are not cheap so i tend to conserve my mats until they are unusable and then i will move on to a new one. i have yet to move on to a new one but i'm close.

I got a cricut for Xmas, and after cutting a few things, and watching a few YouTube’s - I brought about 6 mats (some from Amazon, and some from aliexpress) I do not regret it, a colour per mat

Now I mostly just use one mat, but when I was cutting multiples of files for classes I definitely preferred to have more than one mat going. It definitely speeds things along. I am going to try some of the "off brand" mats from Amazon for my Silhouette, which will hopefully speed things along when I have to do lots of cutting.

I will sometimes use a few mats if I'm doing an involved cut file/project, and don't want to cut my paper down smaller.
If I can fit it all on one mat with my scraps, then that's my preference.
I use a Silhouette Cameo and use the Silpat mats that many have mentioned here before (I LOVE them!!)

I use multiple mats, although I sometimes put multiple colors on the same mat and just make sure I set up the cut correctly for it. This is what I do too. I tend to move layers around so I can put several colors on one mat. You have to unload/reload between each one but that's ok.

I use multiple mats with my cameo. Mostly so I can cut something, load another mat to cut the next thing and then peel off the first one. Kind of keeps it going until I've got everything cut
