I'm stuck in the rut of ordering the same old Bay Breeze or Cosmo. I went to dinner the other night and wanted to order something new-ish but couldn't think of much. Are there any newer drinks out there?

Not new - at least, not here - but my go to predinner drink is an Aperol Spritz. It does lean to the bitter side - Aperol is a bitter Orange liqueur, and is mixed with prosecco and sparkling water to make a spritz.

I'm typically a wine drinker, but ever since we got back from Italy last year, I'll order a Aperol Spritz if it's on the menu just for the memories!

I heard the woman ahead of me during a cocktail hour order one.

Following for ideas! I'm going to a HH with work people today. My go-to is just a regular old vodka soda. Solid menopausal fluffy girl Gen X choice. LOL. I'd like to at least appear slightly hip.

I just peruse the cocktails menu and order what looks tasty. For me, a safe bet includes any drink with grapefruit in the warm months.

Orange crushes are our summer go-to and I also love a good margarita with a interesting flavor.
Ice
2 oz. vodka or orange-flavored vodka
2 oz. triple sec
1 medium navel orange, juiced (about ¼ to ⅓ c.)
Lemon-lime soda, such as Sierra Mist or Sprite
A few dashes of orange bitters (optional)
Orange slice, for garnish

I just order what I like, so Im no help as far as "new"!
Funny story though, we were out to dinner last week and dh ordered a 7&7. The waitress had no idea what that was and the bartender may not have either because dh said they used Canadian Club, not Seagram's 7. Very heavy hand on the alcohol though!
I usually get Crown and Sprite (or Coke or Ginger Ale). Sometimes a Bahama Mama Sometimes wine.

At the little cocktail bar in town I go to, the Black Manhattan (not new) is popular, along with old fashioneds. I love an Aperol Spritz and an Aviation. www.liquor.com/recipes/aviation/

I like a great margarita...had an amazing blood orange one last weekend at brunch. Mojito Titos and soda with extra lime - if I want to watch the sugar
If I want something new, I pick something from the speciality cocktail menu of the bar.

I sure see a lot of espresso martinis out in San Francisco. Also margaritas and old fashions/manhattans (my favorite)

Someone mentioned about Seagrams and 7 I think. My friend ALWAYS orders a rye and ginger. Hardly anyone knows what that is anymore. I am old, and my favorite used to be a whiskey sour. Another one that is unknown. I really like mojitos myself.

A French 75 is one of my favorites. I love a good pomegranate martini, especially if made with fresh pomegranate juice.

My go to summer drinks tend to be sweet drinks.
Last years drink of summer was a Dirty Shirley. I’m still drinking them. Just make a regular Children's Shirley temple and add Vodka.
My other summer drink is Madori, Cocunut Rum and Pineapple Juice. Again, it’s a sweet summertime drink that go down way to easy.
(If you want simple…….cream soda mixed with Pinnacle “Whipped” Vodka Or Pink Whitney mixed with sprite or ginger ale.)

My friends have been loving Fresca and grapefruit vodka. Not sure what it’s called. I haven’t tried it yet, but it sounds like the perfect summer drink.
