Happy Saturday peas! Hope you are enjoying a weekend off with some scrappy time for yourself! I have a WONDERFUL sketch today. It was Shimelle who brought it to my attention. It's the current sketch from Scrapbook and Cards today, who has partnered with the one and only Allison Davis for sketches! I am so excited for this quarterly free inspiration! Allison not only does the sketch, but she shares PAGES of alternatives - alternatives for photo sizes, rotating the sketch, for double pages, for using many papers versus single papers. And...I don't want to give it away since I will surely be using these sketches for future Saturdays... but if you scroll down, you'll see a bunch MORE sketches including 2 beautiful 8.5x11 ones. Can you tell I'm happy about this? Please check it out here: SCT SPRING SKETCH
Here is the base sketch sketch allison davis for sct by kirstendrew, on Flickr I had fun with the strips. I did cut long strips to keep it simple. Shimelle had shorter strips, so she placed a couple end to end in each line - a little more arranging but looks great. Simple 1" strips nested very easily: it wasn't challenging, and it's a pattern I will use again. layout high five by kirstendrew, on Flickr

Oooh I watched shimelle do this one and now you pushed me to give it a whirl! I have just the photo/collection I think to use. Thanks kitbop I’m going to scrap it tomorrow.

I thought this looked familiar. SCT has used this sketch before, and I actually took it on a few months ago. Welcome to Winter 22-23 by Gramma Dee, on Flickr But I like the twist now with Alison's article on how to switch it up. Might try her adaptation with the solid triangle along with your twist, kitbop, to orient the point differently and use summer colours. Hmmm...

I love what you both made! I loved this sketch when I saw it too! I completed it earlier this year as well, but decided to use twine, lace and ribbons along with paper. I am trying to use it all up. http://instagram.com/p/CpRdNtruXX4 I am excited to see what everyone else makes! I am thinking of using this sketch again, with the arrow pointing upwards, for a rocket launch photo.

sarahsprettypapers, I love that you used ribbon and lace for those converging lines! Very pretty page. cannmom, I don't think you added too many embellishments: love all your tucked in extras. I hope you don't mind that I moved your take on this challenge here.

Here is my take from this morning. Thankyou, kitbop, for reminding me that I have permission to flip and twist a sketch! Cousins 2 by Gramma Dee, on Flickr

I follow Allison on FB and had seen this sketch, and have to admit, it wasn't favorite or one I thought I would do. But OMG you guys, your takes on this sketch are amazing and now I'm rethinking my initial meh feeling about it. There's love in the gallery! sarahsprettypapers your page is so pretty! Those papers are perfect for Easter, I really like the big cluster in place of a photo and that ric rak brings back memories!

But OMG you guys, your takes on this sketch are amazing and now I'm rethinking my initial meh feeling about it. This is how I feel, large triangles and this many patterns on pages are not my friend. However, I had a large triangle left over from a half and half design so I've started a page using that instead of all the strips of pattern, so it appears I've also been convinced to try this design.

Here's my version. I promise the giant triangle is actually even, I was just too lazy to move the page in my scanner to get that bottom half inch or so.
