I am not here to go rah rah 1960s Kennedy family or anything but it's still frustrating to watch him drive his family's name into the ground.

Like most families - you'll find the good, the bad, and the ugly. I'm too young for the Kennedy Camelot nostalgia, but still have more positive than negative thoughts hearing Kennedy. Not sure that was true for the younger generation, and certainly doubt it'll be true after this fiasco.

Some of his family have already said they wouldn't vote for him. LOL How bad is it when your own brothers wouldn't vote for you?

Over my dead body. Seriously, there might be a Republican or two I’d vote for over Robert Kennedy Jr. Edited to fix dumb reference to the wrong Kennedy. I promise, I did know which one I was talking about.

I promise, I did know which one I was talking about. I mean seriously! He's gone so far off the deep end he's a serious wackadoodle! As I said, I was hoping for a younger candidate (as I truly believe the presidency is a tough job and better suited for those not in their 70s/80s) but this makes me an enthusiastic Biden supporter!

Well, that’s definitely a candidate less acceptable than Biden.
It really seems like the democrats are determined to fuck up the 2024 presidential race.

Although original Joe was not a pillar of the community! Yeah, he made millions in the 1920's before the depression. He also gave permission for his daughter Rosemary to have a lobotomy without his wife's permission who did not want it done.

His stance on wind energy, which is NO as long as they are in his backyard, but YES if they are in MY backyard turned me off him in anyway. He vehemently opposed windmills at Cape Cod, and mentioned how their blinking red lights would ruin the stars at night.
Yes, indeed they do. I am surrounded by lines of blinking red lights at night and they are ugly. The windmill towers are ugly. The roads built to every tower are ugly and scar the ground. The blades that were used for 10 years or less are simply buried in a deep hole in the ground to stay for eternity. When they decide that that the wind towers are no longer wanted for viable, will they just be left to sit on their giant concrete pads? Yes - in my backyard. That's fine. But not in Cape Cod! Oh no!
Wind energy is one of the biggest jokes around.

Aside from his last name, I don't really see a connection to the Democratic Party. He's been an anti-vaxxer long before covid, at least 15 years.

SO much for those saying I'd vote for any Democrat. What we really mean when we say that is that we will not vote for a Republican. And that is a better way to say it, I suppose.🤷♀️ I read multiple reports that Steve Bannon encouraged him to run. That is a mark against him. His vaccine stance is insane. It is true that I won’t vote for a Republican, but this guy isn’t going to be enough of a contender for it to be a problem. Steve Bannon is the worst. www.thedailybeast.com/steve-bannon-encouraged-rfk-jr-to-run-against-biden-for-months-report

Just another right wing wacko pretending to be a Dem to run. Follow the money. If Bannon is ‘backing’ him that’s not a democratic candidate.

Oh, what will my MIL do??? She thinks he is just so wise---wanted us all to read his Fauci expose, so that we could "do our research" on vaccines. ---but she votes Republican and is a 100% pro-life Catholic. Yeah, I am not worried about him at all. Millennials and GenZ could not care less about a Kennedy and no one is winning without them.

SO much for those saying I'd vote for any Democrat. He really isn't a Democrat and no way in hell I would vote for him in a primary---HOWEVER, if it was him or Trump/DeSantis? I will STILL pick the whackadoodle faux Democrat that at least doesn't show signs of wanting to create a fascist dystopia...yet. ETA: He hasn't said what his position is on a lot of things, but he is pro-choice, pro-Affordable Care Act, pro-environment So, again...I don't want a vaccine conspiracy theorist running the country, but he seems to be mostly a one-trick conspiracy theorist---meanwhile, Trump/Desantis have a multitude of conspiracies they back and promote.

I'm from MA. My Mom was enthralled with JFK and all things Kennedy though she HATED Ted with a white hot passion. When JFK Jr. died, she was so sad. She had met him on several occasions while he was campaigning for his uncle. She said he was so nice, polite, & handsome.
Cut to my 7th grade history teacher, Mr. Morrisey, who didn't have a nice word to say about JFK. Used to tell us to go look at his voting record in the senate. He HATED JFK. HATED HIM.
Robert Kennedy Jr. - Most of his family have come out against him. They won't vote for him. He's anti-vax and the Anne Frank comment sent me over the edge. If the vote was either him or Trump/DeSantis I would probably vote for him though. I think Trump/DeSantis are just too dangerous on a number of other levels.

Long shot. I don’t really know how people perceive the Kennedy name nowadays, but I’m guessing the political cachet that name carried for decades is no longer as strong. Joe Kennedy III lost in the primary in MA. Who would have thought that was possible? But it did happen.
