I really want to be able to take photos with my phone set up on a tripod or rock or whatever and NOT use a timer. I don't want to pay all the $$$ for an apple watch because I won't wear it otherwise. I bought a cheap shutter release from Amazon and it paired with my phone but then didn't actually work to take photos. I sent it back after conjuring my dead grandma's string of profanities from the grave.
What have you bought that works with an iPhone 12? And if you have a little tripod you like, please share links to that as well.

This is the one my son bought me for Christmas a few years ago. I like it cause the remote stores on the Tripod itself and gets pretty tall. The remote connects thru Bluetooth. I'm an Android user, so I can't tell you how it works with iPhone. But I will say having a tripod has helped me be in so many pictures I have been absent from for so long, and I am loving it! We are Android users, but my husband's phone came with a stylus that has a button for the camera shutter on it. Maybe there is an iPhone equivalent out there that can be purchased?

I bought this one from Amazon in November 2021. It works a treat! Selfie Stick Tripod with Blue Tooth RemoteETA: I have an iPhone 12 Pro Max. It fits into the tripod holder, but only just. The holder has actually sprung apart a couple of times, but I was able to put it back together no worries. It would definitely be fine for the Pro and smaller.

My S22 Ultra has a pen that has a shutter button and can do all kinds of magic for photos. I also bought this tripod to take on a trip. It is small and lightweight and has a remote. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09X1K5WW9/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1

I bought this wireless camera remote shutter 2 pack from Amazon and shared one with a friend. It pairs instantly. Works great especially for selfies. Can confirm it works with iPhone 12 Pro and 13 Pro.

It doesn't look like mine is available anymore, but I have a Blitzwolf tripod selfie stick with remote. It's all in one--a selfie stick that telescopes and can be used with the built in tripod and a remote that slides out of the arm. It pairs with my phone via Bluetooth (natch) and works really well. Here is the Blitzwolf page, but it looks like the newer model is sold out. I would imagine that they are coming up with a newer model soon. You could call them and see if the $35 model is compatible with the iPhone 12--I didn't see it stated, but I just did a quick look. I also did a search on Amazon and there are several similar ones for about $20. I'd read some reviews and pick one--you don't have much to lose for $20. If you are looking for a better tripod for travel, I have a Joby Gorilla mount. Although 90% of the time I grab my Blitzwolf one. The Joby is much more stable and can wrap around tree branches and the like, but I like the all-in-one aspect of the Blitzwolf. The Blitzwolf it also a lot lighter, but my Joby is about 10 years old and they probably make them lighter now.
