Music changes my whole attitude about exercise. I walk to get OUT of my head, not in it!

The daily walk wouldn't be an issue - my app says I've average 3.2 miles so far this year, and it's been a pretty long winter. I almost always do 2 and then sprinkle in longer ones when I have a slower day. And I've never been one to wear earbuds, so that wouldn't be a problem. I do walk with friends 2 different days, and it's a time I cherish. I suppose I could add a mile to the end of my day solo - my dog certainly wouldn't mind.
I'll think about it. But I will say, there's absolutely no doubt in my mind getting out every day and walking has been a HUGE benefit to my mental well-being, especially at the height of covid. I'm not convinced the days I walk with others are less helpful. I think they might have been more, but that might be a function of the times and my desire to connect with others.
Good luck on the journey!

Did a three mile walk along the bayou yesterday. The wildflowers are in full bloom (as are my allergies) but it was enjoyable even without my AirPods! Even saved this little guy from being run over by bicycles. And please ignore my chipped nails. We leave for vacation next week, so I'm trying to stretch my manicure out as long as i can. This is going to be a tough week LOL!

Ok I’m in. I’ll bring the dog. It will be very hard for me without music but I’m willing to try.
When I lived in Manhattan I would go for daily meditative walks and found them to allow my brain to truly wander along with my feet. I’d get lots of creative ideas while walking — but often forgot them afterwards.
I’ll admit I’m slightly irked by people posting about why they won’t do this. Why post, then? bleh. Guess I need a walk …

Exactly what I need to do! I was very faithful to my walking prior to my last TKR & breast cancer treatment - everything fell apart during that time and I am paying for it on the scale and my body is always stiff and achy! Definitely telling me I need to move more! I am plugged into podcasts during the day while I work so taking that break during a walk will be perfect to clear my head.
Thanks for the challenge - both physically & mentally

Ok, I'm signing up (out loud, in front of everyone).
Honestly though, I am not sure I will be spending time with my thoughts every day. I feel like sometimes I will get distracted or I will be busy thinking that I should be spending time with my thoughts.
ETA: I have absolutely no problem not using my phone.
