I am a cardmaker rather than a scrapbooker these days, though I have a couple of books from Simple Scrapbooks should I ever go back. Keeping the magazines doesn't seem reasonable.
I have all but one issue from 2002, all six issues for both 2003 and 2004, and the first issue from 2005.
You pay shipping, but Media Mail rate still exists, so shipping shouldn't be too outrageous.

OK, so I offered these here and in my local crafty FB group and nary a nibble.
I think this means that these have no value to anyone and I should <gulp> recycle them.
Which sent me down some rabbit hole of being wistful and finding it both ironic and sad that paper media really is useless/passé, even in paper crafting, because everything's on the internet now. And, yes, here I am being wistful about it on the internet. More irony.
Can somebody please tell me to get over myself and toss the magazines in the bin? Or give me some ideas where to donate them?
I'll deal with the books some other time....

I know the feeling. I remember the days of excitement when people posted they received their magazine, and I knew mine would be coming soon. But even when I look through the few I have left, I don't find a lot of value either. Many companies are no longer in business and I am not really interested in scrap or project-lifting anything in them. We have come a long way with the available tools/supplies that can make much better looking things.
Just toss them in the bin and don't look back. Don't spend the time hauling them anywhere. At least they are not going in the landfill.

I did!
Maybe it will be a gateway drug and I will be able to recycle some of the cooking magazines I have of similar vintage....

either recycle them or see if your local Friends of the Library or Goodwill (or other thrift store) will take them. In my area I see them at both the library booksales (often for 10 cents or a quarter) or at the thrift stores (usually 50 cents or $1)

My library only takes magazines up to about a year old.
