Awesome, so you'd rather have trump as president. That makes sense. This is what I find so frustrating with the American people.

I'm, for the most part, happy with his job as President and will definitely vote for him. I'm not excited about my vote, though.

I would much prefer someone younger and progressive but that's not my choice this time so I'm voting for Biden. If I can't get behind that, it IS a vote for trump. It's very clear. It sucks but that's the reality.

That you feel I'm what's wrong with America for voicing my thoughts on this old reluctant candidate--thanks for the laugh 🤣 What's wrong with America certainly isn't me not wanting to have Biden in the running against a foul candidate like Trump. I want someone that currently doesn't exist.

Dump can only win if he cheats and hopefully, will be outed for his deceptions. Biden can definitely win against dump, no other candidate can beat him. The Democrats are sticking together and will get the job done.

Ugh. I don’t know if I can vote for Biden again.
I’m going to wait until the official candidates are confirmed after the primaries.
I’d love to have some choice other than Trump or Biden.
If the Dems don’t have another viable candidate, that’s no one’s fault but their own. They aren’t great at strategy as a party.

why don't people think he will live through another term? it's a difficult job but i think he will live through it. he seems more physically fit compared to the cheeseburger eating dough boy who preceded him and is running against him. That’s just insulting to dough boys

Admittedly, he's gotten a bit of a bump from the indictment and Republicans have rallied around him. However, I think the bump will only be temporary. The few remaining moderate Republicans and some independents are tired of the drama with Trump. I don't think Trump will win many votes beyond his base. Why do you think Trump would win in 2024?

People may dislike both Biden and Trump, but given a choice between the Trump and Biden or DeSantis and Biden, Biden has more support. www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2023/04/21/biden-trump-2024-presidential-election/Biden doesn’t need to be the most popular candidate. He just needs to be more popular than the alternative.
www.wsj.com/articles/donald-trump-tops-ron-desantis-in-test-of-gop-presidential-field-wsj-poll-finds-88c84663Yet, Mr. Biden draws more support than his 42% job approval rating in test matches against both Messrs. Trump and DeSantis. One reason is that voters who only “somewhat disapprove” of Mr. Biden’s job performance, rather than strongly disapprove, say they would pick him over both potential GOP nominees in the 2024 election.
And Mr. Fabrizio, who works for a pro-Trump super PAC, said that Mr. Biden tops Mr. Trump by a big margin, 54% to 15%, among voters who disapprove of how both men have handled the office of the presidency.

Trump's legal troubles are only going to get worse and his speeches at rallies and his truth social posts are just getting crazier. In comparison, Biden looks normal and level headed. heathercoxrichardson.substack.com/p/april-24-2023?r=1f0orz&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=emailToday, Fulton County district attorney Fani Willis said that she would announce charging decisions in the investigation of the attempt to overturn the 2020 presidential election in Georgia sometime during the fourth term of the state Superior Court, which begins July 11 and ends September 1. Tipping her hand that there will be at least some charges, she said she was announcing the timeline to allow the Sheriff’s Office and local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies to prepare. “Open-source intelligence has indicated the announcement of decisions in this case may provoke significant public reaction,” Willis wrote.
Tomorrow, the civil rape trial of former president Trump will begin, in which writer E. Jean Carroll alleges that Trump raped her sometime between fall 1995 and spring 1996. No matter what happens at the trial’s conclusion, the information that will come out will almost certainly not make Trump look good to the suburban women he needs to win an election.
In contrast to the circus of the rape trial tomorrow, President Joe Biden is apparently set to announce his reelection campaign, exactly four years after he announced in 2019, when he warned that the soul of the nation was at stake in the upcoming presidential election.

Using it to mean not in shape seems kind of insulting/wrong.

I don’t think anyone on this thread is saying trump is better than Biden. Just that maybe “better than Trump” shouldn’t be the sole standard for President.

It's a long road to election day 2024. I don't wish Biden any ill health but if he should realize that he is just too old and step aside, I'd be happier. Still, he is far better than any alternative the Republicans have put up so far. Harris is featured prominently, though not named, in the announcement video. I wish he had a different running mate but if he is sticking with Harris, it helps that he shows her by his side frequently.

I’ll vote for him with pleasure. I do worry about his age. It will give the dems 4 more years to vet younger candidates. I’m loving Jeff Jackson from NC right now. I’d vote for him in a heartbeat.

First political ad by RNC v Biden "It’s pretty remarkable to me that they begin by acknowledging Biden was legitimately elected," tweeted Christopher Hale, a Biden delegate from Tennessee. That ad is pathetically desperate.

But the question is will the Democrats, in mass, do the right thing and vote for Biden-Harris? Of course the Democrats will "do the right thing". The alternative is voting for Trump or one of his ilk. What Democrat would switch parties to do that? Just because we don't really like Biden doesn't mean we'll vote for the enemy.

I will vote for him if he is the nominee. Ultimately, we will be voting for Kamala Harris anyway due to Biden's age and the likelihood that he wont live through a second term (due to his age). Looks like GenX will never have a president from our generation at this rate. Biden will live long past 2028. He will only be 84 when his next term ends. People live well into their 90s nowadays. He gets the best medical care and he is physically active and in good shape.

I would like to think they will. But in 2016 candidate trump showed very clearly what type of President he would be. But yet 4.4 M voters who voted for President Obama in 2012 couldn’t be bothered to vote for the very qualified Democratic candidate.
