On Friday I was told by our realtor that in staging the house to sell there will be no longer be an office (/craft space) so instead of having 2 rounds of packing my craft stuff away, I only have one. I will keep out a small amount supplies in a rolling craft bag to keep me entertained while we are in transition. My goals for May: Finish SCT Crop & Create scrapbooking classes (Goal: complete in Week 1)- Continue documenting/taking photos of day-to-day for May
- Create pattern and start stitching felt ornament project (4-leaf clover)

Well, I ended up missing the entire month of April as far as scrapping or any other sort of crafting goes. I spent most of the month out of state, initially going to help my father while he recovered from a broken arm after a fall...however, after several weeks of ups and downs with him being in and out of hospital and rehab center, he passed away peacefully in his sleep. It was very unexpected, as he had been on the upswing with PT on his arm, but had also developed an infection. Drove home finally on Friday and spent this weekend unpacking, trying to catch up on sleep, doing laundry and chores with DH, but mostly practicing avoidance to distract me from everything. It was a roller coaster of a month. The loss is difficult and will take a loooong time to process. It also brings back the loss of my mom 20+ years ago so some re-grieving is thrown in for extra fun. I will miss him greatly for the rest of my days but I am thankful he was at peace when he passed. I went back to work (remote WFH) today so that is another distraction. I am trying to deal in little bits and pieces and be easy with myself. DH and both DDs being extra helpful and wonderful. Unfortunately, DS was not able to come back from overseas for the funeral since he's in the homestretch with finishing his capstone projects, presentations, and finals. However, he had gone with DH & I to visit my father at the new year while he was home on holiday break.
I took a quick look at my scrapping desk and it still has several half-finished cards sitting on it whose occasions have now passed. I'll finish them and probably be able to re-purpose them. After that I'll make some Mother's Day cards, and then finally start on some Thank You cards for the many people who sent flowers, support, condolences, etc. (The TY cards may wait until later in the month.)
I have lots of photos of my dad and family to organize, but I'm not quite ready to do those yet. Maybe I'll set a goal of a certain number (or event or time period) to get done each month. In the meantime, playing with pretty paper and photos of projects already in progress (2014 cruise, beach trips, etc.) will keep me busy and distracted.

I'm joining Generation Celebration this month and I have May 4-7 blocked off from EVERYTHING so I can relax and scrap at my leisure. I'd like to work on a mini album for DD and if I get bored or tired of that I have tons of pictures printed and ready to go for the new SG sketches. I also want to upload my April 2023 pictures to my PC. I expect the rest of the month to be very busy so I'll be happy to scrap one layout a week for the remainder of the month.

@scrappingwithoutpeas I'm so sorry for your loss. Be gentle with yourself.
Yesterday I ordered photo prints for the last 6 months. I used to do it every month. I ordered about 130 pics. For 6 months. I used to have that many most months.
I haven't scrapped in a long time. I want to, but the energy and time isnt there. I keep telling myself Im going through a season, and I will scrap again someday.
I am glad to be "caught up" on uploading and ordering pics, though. It weighed on me.

So sorry for your loss scrappinwithoutpeas. It will take awhile to refocus after having gone through that. Your Dad was very fortunate that you were able to be with him and help him during his last days.

As for May goals, I'm just hoping that I can do better than I did in April. First goal is to actually ignore everything else this coming Saturday and focus on finishing 2 l/o's that have been sitting on my table for a couple of weeks. Saturday is National (international) Scrapbook Day and I hope to make it count.

scrappinwithoutpeas I am so sorry to hear about your dad. Sending virtual hugs and comfort your way as you navigate this loss. As expected, April was crazy busy and I only put together half a page. This month, my goals shall be: 1. Clean the craft room, ideally before this Saturday. I have lots of baby shower stuff to put away still. 2. Organize all of the photos I took last month. It is only a couple thousand to go trough... haha! 3. Actually finish a layout.

I ended April at the Scrapbook Expo and then May is my birthday month so I celebrate all month, haha! But I have a crop Fri and Sat and I have a cropportunity next Friday and Sat as well. But I have a fabulous Mother's Day tea party with my granddaughters next Sat so that will take one of my crop days with instead 100 more cute photos to add to the 5000 I have taken in the past few weeks. My birthday is on Mother's Day so more photos there! I have become buried under piles of photos taken just since January. There is no hope for me. I have even given up putting them in page protectors in albums. At least they are printed. My goal for May is to organize these most recent photos into page protectors. I also will keep working on some photos from 1878 I started scrapping at EXPO. I had wanted to do about 40 pages and I barely got half that many done. Did too much shoppping! scrappinwithoutpeas my sincere condolences.

I have soooo many things I would like to accomplish, the problem is I try so hard to do everything all at once, it just wears me out, so I just take naps and nothing gets done.

I know how you feel, don . Need to tell myself this is a HOBBY not a job, pick one thing that will make me happy and go with that. So sorry to hear about your loss, scrappinwithoutpeas. A peaceful departure is ideal for the departed, but such a shock for those left behind. My plans for the month were derailed this week. I will be missing the 3 day in person crop our LSS hosts because a chronic condition decided to flare up Tuesday and landed me in the hospital yesterday. Should be going home today but not ready to pack up and head out tomorrow. I will still need to construct the 6 cards I had planned to make there. I also want to decorate a box to put dgd’s grad album in ( and create a cover for that album). After that I will just have to see where my mojo takes me.

grammadee, sorry about your health problem. I just know you'll put your hobby aside and concentrate on your recovery. Right? ... That's what I thought.

I'm so sorry scrappinwithoutpeas. *hugs* I hope you're able to be discharged today, grammadee. I've actually been able to scrap several pages this week while I wait on orientation/training at my new job. I've also been sick so they've been pretty simple pages but a completed layout is a completed layout, right?! I need to send off a batch of photos to be printed for my mom who is going to a scrapbook convention/crop next weekend. She rarely takes photos of her own so she has my sister send pictures of her kids to me and then I send off photos of all the grandkids to CVS and my mom pops by the store to pay for & pick them up. I don't have any specific goals this month. My eighth grader is going on a class trip this month so I'm hoping I can nag their friend(s) into taking photos and/or nagging my kid into taking photos but I'm not holding my breath. It's been SO cold all of March & April so I just hope it'll finally warm up enough to be outside after work and on weekends and get lots of photos I can scrap those sometime in the future.

Yesterday I ordered photo prints I ordered on May 1st.
Got a shipping notice on the 3rd, with an estimated date of delivery of May 15th.
Tracking never moved from label printed and entered into system.
Yesterday I contacted customer service, and they are sending a (free) reprint, estimated to be delivered on June 2nd.
I'm just kinda bummed, getting prints a month after ordering them. Feel let down, even though I know I won't be rushing to scrap them anytime soon.

what a pain LavenderLayoutLady - I'm glad they are reprinting/resending but a month is a long wait (nowadays)

My update for May!
1. Clean the craft room, ideally before this Saturday. I have lots of baby shower stuff to put away still. I did a lot of organizing and putting things away, so this was completed.
2. Organize all of the photos I took last month. It is only a couple thousand to go trough... haha! I organized and backed up all of my photos between the 90's to 2022. Still working on 2023.
3. Actually finish a layout. I made a few layouts, so yay!
