Happy May! While some parts of the country is trying to get warm finally, we are already hitting a 100 degrees. This month might be the last nice one to enjoy the outdoors for awhile. Hows your weather? This month's SheetLoad makes 12 cards so its perfect for mass production. Video with downloadable link youtu.be/R1coYKk3xJo Process video youtu.be/AKa95-cQ3fwThis makes 12 cards x 10 points = 120 For the extra 10 points use something unexpected on your cards. This extra 10 points only for the first set. Tagging grammadee.

Thanks!
I like this sketch, but I know me and if I have those teeny pieces of paper with a big pattern that doesn't look like anything because of the size, I will hate them. I picked up a couple Christmas sheets on sale at Joann a bit ago that should work; both relatively small-scale.
The extra 10 points are only for the first set, but the 10 points for completing a set is for each set, right?
It is raining buckets here at the moment.

I picked up a couple Christmas sheets on sale at Joann a bit ago that should work; both relatively small-scale. The extra 10 points are only for the first set, but the 10 points for completing a set is for each set, right? It is raining buckets here at the moment. This is the rule from the challenge page. If you create multiple cards with the same design (let's say 10 for this example), you can show us ONE of them. Then you would claim 10 for creating and 1 for sharing before going on with other points. (11 points in the example) * EASY PEASY, just go by points for that size (let's say 15 in this case) and multiply by number of cards (10), add on your points for creating/sharing (11) and your total would be 161 points for ten cards. So this sketch makes 12 cards. 12 points for creating them 1 point for sharing...so you can collect this 13 points for all the cards you create with this sketch. And yes, the extra 10 points just on your first set if you meet the challenge. Points for the first set with the challenge and sharing should give you 143 points. 12x10+13+10= 143 I hope this helps. Does this looks right grammadee?

The SLoC challenge reads "1 point per card plus TEN points for completing the set."
So, let's keep it simple by ignoring the extra special challenge for using something unexpected.
If I make 12 cards this month, that's one set, so 22 points for the SLoC challenge. If I make 24 cards, is that 44 pts? Or only 34?

I always looked it this as meeting the challenge with the first set. So no additional extra points, but let see if someone else chimes in on this. I'm bad at counting points and not really keeping a good scoring 😁

I made half a set so far, still working on the other half because the large open print doesn't work well for the small piece - like Shakti said. I'm going to use a busier 6x6 print instead. For this set I changed my mind about the little piece after trying the wordy one (bottom right). It felt like too many words next to the sentiment and the green piece looked better than I expected. Also experimented with color combos. I think I like the one pink one slightly better than the blue ones in the end. May Sheetload by jo.blackford, on Flickr

Could you tell me the stamp set if you know it please?

Yes, the pink makes the big background print pop. Very fun cards!
My latest clearance sale haul from SU seems to have some small- to medium-scale prints I think will coordinate well. Hurray!

Adorable cards joblackford. Love the playfulness of the pp and the color combo 😍. I don't mind the tiny words in the picture, but I agree like the green pieces better.

I adore that sentiment. Could you tell me the stamp set if you know it please? It's older but it's a good one: sss201898 AMAZING - oh hey, they still have it! www.simonsaysstamp.com/products/simon-says-clear-stamps-amazing-sss201898The sentiments are really nice and it's all abstract shapes, very fun to play with rainbow colors. And I realize I've never gotten around to doing an emboss resist with ink blending...

I had to make a new one with the same email address, log in, etc. Weird. Now I have no access to past orders, and I lost everything that I had been keeping in my ongoing shopping cart for an order in the near future. Curses. Though they probably saved me some money by doing that.

My wishlist is probably gone (maybe? probably?) and their prices are ridiculous... so I think I'll wait until I really have to buy from them before I bother to create a new account. Not happy that they seem to have purged all these accounts without warning.

I tried this one last night, and for some reason some of my measurements were off. Like an 1/8 of an inch. On every stinking card. Dang it all.
I’m going to try again tonight.

SSS DID give a warning -- or at least I received one. I thought they said I was going to lose my order history but that they were hoping to keep project lists. Instead, I seem to see my order history, but not project lists.

I haven't bought anything from them for ages. Sorry to hear that you lost your project lists

It's ok. I think I did take a look at my list (I only had one -- my wish list), thought about printing it to PDF or something, and decided that the temptation would find me again if it was meant to be.
Oddly, I find them tempting, but not as tempting as SB.C. I don't think I've bought anything I've ended up loathing --which has happened at least twice at SB.C.
EtA: Just went back and checked the email message. Definitely said that you should save your order history elsewhere if it was important to you, that they were working hard to carry wish lists over, but not guarantees, so....

They didn’t give a ton of notice about the changeover. I got their email in my inbox in the afternoon on Apr 26th, which recommended having anything we wanted saved done by the 28th. I didn’t see anything on their blog or instagram about it, but maybe I missed a post?

Finally finished the May SLoC. Made 12, but messed up one with the stamping.

This second half of my Sheetload isn't actually the second half of what I started - I went in a different direction with the lime green camera paper. I liked the sentiments I had stamped better with this rainbow heart Doodlebug paper, and got 4 card fronts out of what was left of it. The 12x12 rainbow paper isn't the best for cardmaking but I think I made it work for the last (top) 2 cards. I used a 6x6 paint splatter paper for the small piece. This is where I am so glad that Doodlebug uses the same colors over and over - these cards are a mix of 3 or 4 collections. May share by jo.blackford, on Flickr This is what I ended up doing with the lime green paper. It was a random leftover paper I couldn't find a pun for, fall colored travel bags on the back, but I had these camera die cuts from the cute and crafty collection that made sense with it thematically. I had intended to use it for the Sheetload but I really couldn't make these big die cuts work with the sketch so I just went freestyle. I used the off cuts of the rainbow hearts from above and I stretched the leftovers of that wordy paper I tried on my first set on these cards too. (The cuts are hidden behind the images.) May share by jo.blackford, on Flickr Proud of myself for using lots of enamel hearts and for stamping the little bird on the pink polaroid die cut I'm almost out of Doodlebug patterned paper so I think I've earned a shopping spree!

I am trying to branch out and try something a little new. I have for certain "outgrown" getting CS card kits and following the instructions. But I am reluctant to give up on CS altogether. Their papers are beautiful, high-quality, easy to work with, and I'm almost certain they're made by Neenah.
They have a MD discount code and I'm thinking of getting 2 12x12 patterned papers and a pack of their 4x6 coordinating panels to make a SLoC. Looking at this month's sketch, I think it will work.
I'm also looking to buy some of their cutting patterns to use with some of the kits I've purchased and not yet assembled. It'll mean I have some weird envelopes left over, but I am not a fan of their novelty card sizes and folds anyway.

It’s still May!
I longed for a big, bold sentiment stamp like the one joblackford used, but I did my best with what I had. Cards for Kindness is always looking for more cards that can be sent to men. I thought these fit the bill without being all guns 'n' fishing or cars and motorcycles or what have you.

I like something a little more neutral because I'm guessing that the people receiving these cards will be long past their fishing or biking days and the caregivers/agencies probably don't know what they're into anyway. And I think men can enjoy some color and pattern without needing a tool or weapon on it anyway. The colors are lovely. That's a great green plaid.
