I have never understood why this event is in May. I get it’s an international day, but I would guess most participants are Northern hemisphere. Why May? It’s such a busy month - always! Typically gorgeous weather, many events. 24 years and I have yet to make it for a scrapbook day event. I just can’t justify sitting inside at my craft day on such busy and beautiful spring days. I wish they’d move it to January so I could attend, guilt free. 😢
First world petty vent over. 😂

(((Hugs)))) I didn't ever get to participate until my oldest daughter (23 tomorrow) wasn't living at home - her birthday always falls on or around iNSD and even if it wasn't ON the weekend, we were celebrating on the weekend.

I'm with you! The weather today is perfect and we're spending some time in the garden. I will carve out time to scrap, but Jan/Feb/March would be better!

Same here. It’s time for end of the school year things for kids k-8, had graduation last night, concerts tomorrow. And then it’s nice enough to be gardening. Let’s do it in the winter when I have a bit more free time!

Ha! I’m in California, cooped up due to a dreary rainy day! I’d love to scrapbook, but I’m too captivated catching up with all the coronation coverage. 👑

I have never participated in any events even if I have the time. But yes, May is usually very busy. I was able to sit down for about an hour this morning and have now been home for about 30 minutes and can finally sit down to craft. We had errands to run and tomorrow have more on top of a baseball game for the kids team.
Good thing is this coming week and next weekend the peas will host a NSD event so maybe you can join use for a day.

I was home, but had no mojo, and always have a mile long To-To list waiting for me.
Maybe next year will be our year?

Every day should be scrapbook day. Any day is a good day to scrapbook. Any day is a good day to take photographs. Any day is a good day to buy scrapbook products.

I usually just watch a few scrapping videos and do a few layouts. I used to love it when we still had B&M stores and they’d have all day crops with goody bags and contests.

Ok this is the second time in the last few minutes my post was doubled. I’m going to go make dinner. Maybe that will double and I’ll have plenty of leftovers.

The coronation and Kentucky Derby were today too plus we finally had warm weather today. Oh well, I got on Facebook and Instagram for a minute to check out a few NSD related posts.

I had a kids soccer game yesterday and some other stuff and did not get to scrapbook. Ironically NSD almost always falls on/near my friend who used to scrapbook with me's birthday... I also think we should swap 4th of July (not dark until 10 pm) with Halloween (dark at 4:30.) And NanoWrimo (write a novel in a month yearly event) is in November which only has 30 days, and is usually busy because of Thanksgiving and would be perfect in a boring 31 day month like January... If only someone asked me when they decided all these things

Back when I liked what places like Archivers or sb.com offered for iNSD I was usually busy with baseball games for part of the day. Now that I don't have Saturday baseball games I don't care for the activities that various places offer.
It's right up there with all of the scrappy places offering great sales around Black Friday & Christmas--I need to be buying gifts for others, not goodies for me!

Back in the day when there used to be CM consultants who regularly held crops they would host the NSD one in like March. May is just too busy with sports and graduations plus who wants to sit inside when the weather is finally nice out.

See, I was thinking August. There aren’t any major US holidays in August and kids are starting to go back to school, but it’s still early enough that activities haven’t gone full force yet (at least not here—not sure about elsewhere…) Are there any major August holidays for others outside of the US? The benefit for me is that it is also hotter than Hades here in August so I wouldn’t be going outside unless absolutely necessary.
Although January might work too. I’d be open to that…like I have any decision making power on this.

I'm usually busy doing something else on NSD. This year I was upstate on a farm, bottle-feeding baby goats. I did scrapbook and make some cards yesterday during HSN's Craft Day.

I don’t get why it’s this day either. I wonder if it was originally made to help drive sales during a slow month for all the reasons everyone said: nice weather, busy with kid activities, etc.
