How do you feel about fussy cutting?
Paige Evans seems to love deconstructing her pages, then reconstructing the elements into something else. I am currently PAINstakingly cutting out all the hearts on a paper FULL of them...
Vicki Boutin calls it "fussy cussin'", and that is how it is to me. Definitely not a technique I would usually take on for more than a few items on a page or card.

I voted for 'don't mind it' but...I wish I was better at it and that it wasn't so hard on my fingers (arthritis). It's a great way of adding embellishments when you don't have anything to match. I love the new cut-aparts from SG but some of the shapes are harder, imo, to cut than others and I do struggle a bit more with those.

I try not to do it mainly because my thumb starts to hurt after too much cutting but I will do it if I need to. I usually use my Silhouette and the pixscan mat if I need to cut stamped images.

I’m somewhere between the first two options. I don’t want to do it for hours but I do enjoy it. I like having lots of embellishments from one piece of paper. Especially florals. I’ll usually buy any extra piece of paper if it’s good for fussy cutting.

I'm definitely not good at fussy cutting or do a lot of it, but I find it relaxing.

Don't mind it but as I get older and my hands get more stiff I am seriously thinking of getting a Brother Scan N Cut.

I'm somewhere between will do it occasionally for a specific purpose and hate it/nope, no thank you. The idea of cutting up a paper that's already all layered and fancy and, to my eyes, finished looking just doesn't work in my brain. I don't want to ruin something pretty! So it's def not something I often think to do. And it hurts my hands. I also don't have the patience to get my ScanNCut to cut it how I want it.

I voted "hate it", but I'll do it when/if there's no other good option for a particular embellishment I want to use. I have the PixScan for my Cameo, but have never been able to get it to work the way I want, so I don't use it much. Usually I just find an alternative instead of fussy-cutting.

The digital version of fussy cutting is extracting an image. Sometimes it is really easy and quick - if the background it all one colour it can be as easy as click and delete. Other times it is very time consuming, and can as long as, or longer than, scissors and paper. That's when it becomes fussy cussing!

I picked the third option since I really don’t like having to do it but I will occasionally. You gotta do what you got to do. I even have small scissors and a pair of curved scissors to make it easier. Still not my favorite thing.

I said I enjoy it. I find it relaxing and I usually love the way it looks on cards or layouts.
I sometimes buy paper for possibilities of fussy cutting elements from it.

I do not have the patience anymore and my hands don't work great. I DO love the look of the pages, which is why I'm going to save up for a scan and cut. For some reason, I don't care for the term "fussy" cutting, stupid I know. It's just cutting to me. Fussy, cussin' is funny though.

While I understand the proper technique,* I dislike detail/fussy cutting, am rarely satisfied with the end result, & don't buy supplies that require it (including connected/unsnipped dies! ). *PSA for anyone struggling with detail cutting: Using any brand/style/size of scissors that you find comfortable, simply open/close scissors in your dominant hand while rotating the paper with your non-dominant hand. ETA: ... Vicki Boutin calls it "fussy cussin'"... Similarly, a friend calls it "fuzzy cutting" to describe her results compared to using a die cutting machine.

I probably fall somewhere between the can do it for hours and don't mind it options. I will look at papers specifically for the ability to fussy cut them, particularly florals, but also things like heart or stars. I really like how I can get a lot of the embellishments I most gravitate towards for very little cost and just a bit of effort. Sometimes I'll sit down and cut out everything so it's ready to go, but I'm much more likely to cut as I need.
The one who really blows my mind is Laura Alberts who fussy cuts the tiniest florals from papers and I have no idea how she does it so successfully, fussy cutting is a magic skill for sure.

I'm not good or patient with it. If I can use my Scan N Cut to fussy cut for me, I will.

I now fussy cut with my Brother can & Cut with no border. I used my ScanNCut this evening for fussy cutting several stamped images. Some got a border, some were cut with no border. It was so much faster and easier than if I had fussy cut them by hand. I’m good at fussy cutting, but not as good as I used to be. My hands never used to hurt when I did fussy cutting. Now they do.

I only do it, if I have to.
Usually a sheet of paper die cuts, from Mintay (or another company....but can't remember the name right now). It's a tedious process to cut them all out.

I don’t enjoy fussy cutting, and I don’t love my cut-out pieces. They usually look like my dog cut them out lol. But if I really need to, I will cut a few florals or something like that to go with the paper I’m using.

Mintay always comes with a sheet to fussy cut so I end up doing a lot of it.
If I didn't purchase any diecuts or stickers to go with my paper I will fussy cut the paper to make embellishments.
I don't mind it but it makes a layout take a lot longer than just slapping a die cut down.

Well, I just bought 4 new pairs of scissors to help improve my "detail cutting" as Shimelle calls it. Not sure if it worked, lol but I do like my new shears and I don't mind the cutting when it serves a purpose.

I just did a bunch of it yesterday for a layout I'm working on. It was very relaxing, but my hand ached a little. I like it, but in small doses. I used a much-loved set of Best Creations embossed, glittered cardstock, and I wanted to use up as much of it as I possibly could.

I don't do it a lot but in general I don't mind fussy cutting. Although, it really packs on the time for completing the layout (just like hand stitching), but it's worth it.

I would like for the manufacturers to fussy cut papers and sell the fussy cut pieces. I realize that's sort of what you get with their diecuts, although the diecuts are coordinating pieces, not the actual designs on their papers.
