So I am out of school until mid August, our grass is amazingly lush right now (like lie in it and make no snow angels -minus the snow), and the deck guy just finished putting the last screw in our deck and patio construction about 30 minutes ago.
These things are making me very happy right now.
What is making you happy? Pictures are a bonus!

Yesterday I took my Math Praxis exam and passed! I took it in March when I took the Multiple Subjects Praxis (ELA, science, social studies and math) but didn't have a high enough qualifying score (passed the other three exams). I am now done with all my teacher certification exams!!

I am finally doing something with our sunroom, which has languished for the last few years. It was the cat's room in winter and sort of a dumping ground. I moved a 7' table out of storage into the sunroom and set up my art supplies. There is a tile floor in there and a big sink. I can be as messy as I want. I have all kinds of coverings over various windows trying to decide which windows will stay and which will go in renovation next year. This morning, I climbed up on a borrowed ladder and covered the skylights so I can see if those will go. I'm pretty sure they will. They let in a ton of heat and there is plenty of light without them. It's very freeing to experiment with the space.

My kid wants to change up her room with some different furniture, etc. to have a more grown up space. The exact bed she wanted is $400 new. We scored that exact bed slightly used on Marketplace for $150 and it barely has a mark on it. Happy kid = happy parents.
Another thing that makes me happy is how much stuff I was able to offload this week on the buy nothing group. I really should post that update on the decluttering thread! 😁

I finally got to see the twin baby elephants at our local zoo today, plus koalas on loan from another zoo for the summer, and my favorite red pandas.

I was delighted to use my new two-piece shrimp cocktail glasses that I bought at an estate sale. It made dinner feel very elegant. The main course was lamb chops over creamy rich mashed potatoes. And my centerpiece is a bird’s nest fern I got at the garden center Tuesday along with a blue willow inspired pot to plant it in. So my table setting and food offerings are what made me happy tonight!

I have been given a task of making sample quilt tops for a quilting fabric store. The owner was impressed with a few of my quilt tops and needs someone to make samples using the new fabric in the store.
The 1st quilt is a baby quilt - 4 patch with a 6-1/2" square with a duck appliqued on it.
BONUS - I have the duck die-cut in my Accucut die box. The owner was impressed by this & is wanting me to cut out the baby ducks with the 2-sided interfacing. Glad to be busy & productive.

I had the fun of finally using the Gift Card I got in February for Simon Says Stamp. I was determined to wait for a sale. Got most of what I wanted, and still have some left. Now I get the additional fun of anticipating the package.

I’m house and dog sitting while my sister and BIL spend the weekend away for a wedding. I’m not a dog person but Gracie is such an easy going girl…and she walks slower than me! I’m enjoying quiet.

DH was skeptical about my landscaping plan but agreed to go forward with it. Now it's nearly done and he admitted he loves it.
My military kid called me! He usually only texts. That made my day.

The beautiful weather and that all 4 kids will be home Fri-Sun for DS's graduation and grad party. It's been 2 years since we've all been together, and I'm soooo excited!! I've barely managed to pull things together for DS's senior year and grad party and have messed up some stuff (such as not getting his sr pic submitted for the yearbook in time ) and I've realized I'm at a point I'm doing the best I can, knowing I'm not where I've typically been (mentally) for whatever reason. DH has been good about being reassuring that it will be fine and getting some extra things done, like fixing up the landscape beds along with getting us out to shop for what we can early, which makes me happy.

This is a bank holiday weekend so I have an extra day with my DH - and the weather is gorgeous! So unusual for long weekends! Today is also my brother's birthday. So far we're pottering around getting bits and pieces done around the house that we've been meaning to do for ages, and it's very satisfying.

Very happy to be done with school ‘til August. Looking forward to next Weds., when I fly to MD to meet my Sister. Driving to NYC w/her Thurs. We’ll spend 2 nights in the city, then to LI for niece’s graduation party, then out East to spend a week at my brother’s Beach House on LI Sound along w/Sister #2. Heaven!

The weather here has been glorious all week, and we have tomorrow off as well. Yesterday our men’s football team won the German championship and our women’s team are winning today which means they will win the championship as well. And best of all, in 7 days I fly to Australia and will get to see my darling granddaughters again.
