Does anyone know of a box with a lid that fits 3x4 project life cards well?
I went to the Container Store and nothing fit the bill — either too large or too small…or no lid.
I’m picturing something long-ish like a business card file.

Finding one with a lid is like finding the holy grail. Seriously though, I've only found ones without a lid so far. I did a search by size but i've found nothing yet.

Could you use a photo box and put a divider down the middle or use a container inside?

Only thing I have is the smaller CM power sort box, it is a square, but has a lid and internal "sleeves" that contain and divide the box into 3 sections. The box is designed for 4x6 photos, I have 3x4 and 4x6 cards stored in it. Not sure if it is still available.

I have used the file type box from the Ali Edwards Storytelling Basics Stories By The Year Kit - just the box goes on sale occasionally and it fits in 3x4 and 4x6 cards (or three lots of 3x4 cards side by side) and has the cover you can put over the top. It can be difficult to get the cards out though and you cannot flip through them in the container like you could if you had a regular "bin" style.

I’m picturing something long-ish like a business card file. On a shelf over my desk, I use The Container Store Large Shoe Drawer and Dividers, and they fit two rows of 3x4 cards perfectly. I also use these tabbed dividers. For any 3x4 cards that I don't need immediate access to (like Christmas or travel themes), I store inside this organizer which I keep inside a dollar store plastic shoebox.

if you search for an index card box you'll probably find something that'll work for you. They hold 3x5s usually (although there are ones to hold 4x6)

I have a Close to my Heart medium organizer that was made for this. It is an acrylic box that holds both 3x4 and 4x6 cards. I understand that it was discontinued but it is a great solution if you might be able to track one down.

I use a photo box to store 4x6 and 3x4 cards. I organize them by color. I put the 4x6 cards first, then put two, 3x4 cards side by side behind.

This is a nice option at Walmart. Pen + Gear Plastic Index Card Box,Desktop Organizers Also, as we enter the school supply sale season, you can usually find boxes like this pretty cheap, and they would be great for sorting. Enday Index Card Holder 3x5 Inch File Organizer for Focus Notes & Flash Cards, Purple 1 Pack ETA I’m not sure why I can’t post a Walmart link to these, but there should be enough info in the text to search for them on Walmart.com.

i have hundreds, if not thousands, of the 3x4 cards so i store them in the 12x12 snapware container. i have them divided into themes and the 12x12 fits them all perfectly side by side and height. the handle on top is great because it weighs a ton. i am only using one level right now.
