On the Thicker thread someone mentioned that they didn't like them because they only scrapped flat.
So I wondered if there are any other flat scrappers out there? I've seen some really nice flat pages in galleries.
I have to have some kind of dimension on mine. Not so bumpy that it won't go in a page protector, but I very seldom scrap flat.
Pop dots are my friend. I use so many. When I make embellishment clusters I like to have at least one of the items popped out. Sometimes I even pop out the photos. I bought a ton of pop dots at Tuesday Morning but I'm starting to get nervous about running out. I need another cheap supplier.
Thickers, enamel dots, ribbons/bows, wood shapes, etc. show up on my pages all of the time.
If you are a bumpy scrapper, what do you use and why? If you a flat scrapper, why do you choose to scrap like that?

I make a mix - some flat pages that are all or primarily cardstock based and some pages with a bit of dimension...I don't like too much because it won't fit as well in the album but a pop-dot here or chipboard there is fine.
I'm a yes for enamel dots, occasional hipboard, Thickers, pop-dots, dimensional stickers but I'm not as keen on metal embellishments, wood shapes, ribbons/bows and so on

I like dimension. I don’t typically have more dimension that a standard pop dot/foam tape or enamel dot because it’s gonna get smashed in an album anyway.

I like some dimension as well. I use foam tape a lot to pop things up on my layouts.
I also like the texture of using chipboard, metal, wood, ribbon etc. Not on every layout but I do like it!

I love dimension, but I have decided the pages take up too much space in my albums. I've gone through some older albums and removed thick flowers and flair. None of my flair had rusted, FYI.

I like some dimension. Nothing thicker than wood veneer, dimensional foam, or enamel dots, though. I draw the line at those huge rhinestone gem faux brads. They're just too thicc. I feel like a little dimension and texture brings a layout to life.

Flatish with some dimension? I don't like anything too lumpy, nothing thicker than chipboard.

I like a little bump on my pages...my issue is that I need different thicknesses of foam. Lately I've been saving some money by using the sheets of kids adhesive craft foam from Walmart and then just cutting it to shape and sticking down the other side with Scor-Tape or glue. I've also been using some 3M foam tape from Home Depot. Both are cheaper than pop dots (which I still use and love) and are slightly different thicknesses, so the layering possibilities are almost endless

I am a mixture, but tend to lean more towards the flat side. Mostly because I use a lot of stickers and frames, and there's not a lot depth or dimension to them. I mat almost all my photos, but again not a lot of depth and dimension doing that.
I do get a little dimension and bump, when I use thickers, chipboard or Jolee type products.
The products I use and choose are based on.... cuteness, color, and style I like.....not on flat or bulky.
I am open to using using either style(flat or bumpy), if it is or incorporates well with my personal scrapbook style.

I like dimension on my page, and I like using acrylic, wood, fabrics... really anything. I always enjoy including ephemera from my trips in my albums and that always helps bulk up a page, too. I will include pockets to hold brochures, sea shells, wood chips, cool looking rocks, my dog's first collar... if my glue can hold it down, I will stick it on a layout. 😁

I do both.
I like layers, but they don't have to be chunky. And sometimes layers that are stamped or splattered give an illusion of depth when actual depth is not there.

Dimensional for sure. I like texture and dimension in my projects.

That was me who answered that I was a flat scrapper LOL! I think I'm in the minority here. I don't mind a few layers, but no lumpy bumpy stuff. I just dislike what it does to the pages on the opposite side when they're all smooshed into an album. I like my pages to lie flat. I sometimes add a bit of dimension on cards, especially those that I will hand-deliver. I'm not opposed to the look & I like it on other scrappers pages, just don't like it on my own pages.

Back when "lumpy stuff" was a new thing I was one of the last converts. Now I prefer dimension and foam tape is one of my favorites.

Consistent with my style (& dislike of dents in page protectors & facing pages), my layouts are usually completely flat. Slight dimension is sometimes added via memorabilia, a couple layers of hidden cardstock behind unmatted photos, stenciling with glaze/paste, enamel dots, etc

I like dimension, and I use drop shadows on every single element I put onto a page. I also use a ton of enamel dots. Interestingly I prefer to use flower stickers rather than more dimensional flowers - but I still have to put a small drop shadow on the stickers!

I like the look of dimension, so I use it. I do refuse to use flair though. Try to get about 50 layouts (25-2 pagers) in an album and flair is just too bumpy for me.

Like many of you, I like a little dimension on my l/o-s but don't want them to be too bulky. Enamel dots are fine as well as the thinner foam squares (like the 3L). I also use some flowers, ribbon, and have just invested in some stencil butter. Still working on trying to make that work right.

When I used to scrap 12x12 my pages were hella chunky! Now, with project life, they are more flat. Chipboard is typically the only dimension on my pages. I do really like dimension but for PL it doesn’t appeal to me in the same way.

Pretty flat. I occasionally use chipboard, or a button, or enamel dots but that's as dimensional as I get. I didn't find popping things up made any difference once the page was squashed in the page protector.
I did make some cards last Christmas and used some pop dots...

Most of my LO’s have dimension in some way, usually florals that are not glued down all the way, or pop dots/foam tape. You can never have/use too many pop dots! LOL I also love layers in my embellishment clusters.

Back in the day when I would get published and made layouts for my lss I would do a lot of dimension. Now that I just do it for me I go mainly flat because once it's in a page protector the bulk doesn't look as good plus I like to get more pages in an album.

I am pretty sure all of the layouts I made in the past 10 years have some kind of dimension. I buy those giant, steering wheel sized rolls of 3m foam tape that I use behind pictures, die cuts and stickers. I sometimes use chipboard pieces but not too much since not sticking to their packaging sheet is annoying.

It depends on what I have on hand but I like dimensional better. Lumpy pages were big a long while back. I liked them then and still do. I still have fibers and ribbon which I sometimes use and even some lace. Or sometimes I’ll incorporate 3D stencils.

I'm a flat scrapper unless I happen to own an embellishment that is dimensional. It's laziness more than anything.

Flat scrapper here, but I have an idea for the first page of a future scrapbook that throws that all out the window. But it'll only be for that cover page.

I do some with dimension, some more flat. I always have at least layers, but sometimes I get dimension with texture by using thicker or rougher elements (like burlap), depending on the layout. However, I learned a long time ago to make sure nothing is so bumpy that it leaves an impression in the opposite page, especially when it comes to dents in the photos. I really hate dents or impressions in photos due to a lumpy embellishment on the opposite page. After making that mistake once or twice, I haven’t made it again.

Both for me. Sometimes I create a flat layout or flat pocket page layout and it is exactly what it needs to be. Other times I add lots of dimension because to me it is what the layout calls for.
I don't count thickers for a title as a dimension piece.
