We usually get rain off and on all spring, but this spring has been ridiculous. It has rained 5-7 days a week for the last five or six weeks. The positive side is that we seeded the back yard that was mostly dirt and weeds. It is a gorgeous carpet of bright green right now. We usually get more sunny days than Florida. Currently I am missing the sun. Anyone else experiencing a lot of wet weather?

Nope, we have had dry weather for a while now. The last few days have been hot and stuffy. The weather forecast shows we might get rain a week from tomorrow.
Remember UK homes are not built for heat, homes retain heat, it was okay when there was a breeze but now the air is still.
I'm not a fan of hot weather so not overly happy atm!.
Plus rain might deal with all the bird poo on the paths, honestly it's horrible.

We only had 2 days when it rained in May but thankfully it’s in the forecast for today. I just hope it’s a substantial all day downpour, we really need it.

I feel like it’s been that way since January here… first with snow and now with rain.
I could probably count on both hands the number of completely sunny days we’ve had since the. Even if it’s not stormy, it’s at least overcast.

Our winter was very wet and now our May and June have been gloomy. They said San Diego was the cloudiest city in May, and so far June has been the same. No more heavy rains, but we have been still getting light showers every now and then. And then they say El Niño is coming. Wonderful! Not! Lol!
I hope you get some relief soon and the sun comes out!

Well you and I are in the same state.. the rain has been NUTS.. more rain that I have ever seen in over 20 years. In one way I LOVE LOVE it.. but I am a little over it.
Did you know we (as in my city) it poured again for a few minutes this morning. And then sunny.. I'm downtown and now watching clouds coming in. Not sure if they are just floating by or here for another storm.
I love my usually barely hanging on yard.. this year I haven't even turned on the sprinklers... MID JUNE and no sprinklers!!

Nope. West Michigan has been declared "pre drought." I forget what the actual name for it is but basically, we have all the conditions that lead up to drought, starting with 3-4" less than our usual rainfall. We're parched over here.

There was a news piece on tv this morning about how the southern part of our province hasn't had moisture since April ... and that farmers are expecting a lot of crops to be complete write offs. That's not going to help with the price of food, that's for sure! There's been rain in the more central/northern areas, but almost everything has missed where I am in the middle, and with the forest fire smoke and a bunch of heat warning days, it's just been a miserable 'spring'. But according to our provincial government, climate change has nothing to do with any of that, so I'm sure everything will just work itself out

We've maybe had a wetter than normal spring, but not bad enough to cause any flooding (then again we've been in a minor drought the last few years...)
Naturally it has rained at very inconvenient times... it rained during the substate track meet and then we had a 30 minute downpour right as DS's graduation party was starting. Only one baseball game has been affected so far, but that was mostly because the field is not great and one downpour makes it unplayable for at least a day.

We are dry, dry dry. We had a total of 3/10ths of an inch of rain for the month of May. That is a huge deficit for us. We have only had a few sprinkles at our house in June.

Nope, we've been warmer and dry. They are saying we're going to have El Nino after having 3 years of La Nina.

I'm in central NYS and we have the same thing. Supposedly, it's supposed to rain all afternoon and night here so we'll see.

Goldilocks would be happy here. We have had just the right amount of rain and it has been really pleasant temperatures. It is warming up this week but nothing unusual for June.

Colorado Pea here, so yes Nancy, it has been so uncommonly wet this spring and I hate it! I'm totally over it. I love it to be hot and dry! It's summer and I want to go outside, go to the pool, go hiking, go enjoy the new backyard and deck that we just spent many tens of thousands of dollars on--but we can't because there's always a threat of rain and severe weather and it's chilly and the mosquitos are awful.
My youngest son missed almost his entire soccer season in April-May because they kept having to cancel or close the fields for snow and rain. Oldest son is playing lacrosse and keeps having to practice on a squishy muddy field because it never dries out. He is scheduled for a game this afternoon but it may get canceled.
The lawn is greener than ever and growing like crazy but it's hard to get it dry enough to mow between rainstorms. We had roof damage due to the May 10 storm and all the subsequent hailstorms haven't helped matters.
People keep saying they love the cool wet weather and that it will keep the fires away but I'm not so sure about that. What all the rain will do instead is cause all the fuel plants and brush to grow like crazy so that if it ever does dry out and get hot, there's even more fuel for the fires to burn!

Last year we had a wet spring and then went to HEAT and drought conditions. We are fearful that 2023 will be a repeat of 2022 conditions.

We had a really long winter, and no spring to speak of. Our first 70 degree day happened in early May, which was quite late. Two days later, it was 90. It's been pretty consistently in the upper 70s or low 80s since, which is more like summer for us. It rained a little a couple days this week and that was the first time in quite a while. I'm worried about fire season.
Meanwhile, I've been in Monterey and Santa Cruz a lot in the same time period and it hasn't been sunny once. It's barely been in the 60s!

Yes but I’m in CO too lol. It’s dreary and soggy and my garden is bleh. And any more hail I’m sure it’s done for.
But yes at least the sprinklers aren’t on. The outside of the house is supposed to get painted the end of the month. I’m not really optimistic.

Yes have been floating away. In the last month we have gotten over 1/2 our yearly average. Right now, my county is considered a disaster area because of flooding.

UK here and we've had the driest spring for a long time. I think it might have rained once since March. We had scattered, very localised thunderstorms yesterday and Sunday. We could see them boiling all around us, and could hear rumbles, but we only had a few splodges of rain that dried up in seconds. Send us your rain! (And that's not something you usually hear from an Englishwoman! )

We’ve been very dry until recently. There are some local berry farms that have not had crops because it’s been too dry.
I have cousins in the Borger and Amarillo, TX areas and they’ve had a very wet spring, while it’s usually dry there.

It’s been so dry here for weeks. Dry and hot. This is not typical of Scotland at all, but it is becoming more common. I was speaking to several different American tourists in Glasgow yesterday, who were finding it very pleasant. 😄 I’ve spent the last couple of weeks sitting reading in my garden which has been lovely, but I’m getting rather fed up of high temperatures now. 😉

Extremely dry. DH has been sleepless over the lack of grass in pastures (it's going fast). Those that harvest hay said the first cutting was 2/3 of normal.
Last year we had timely rains that saved the crops. I mean TIMELY. We actually had a very good harvest.
We had some rains this spring that have brought the crops up, but we really need significant moisture now. DH is in 'protect' mode. We prescription plant our row crops, and he went very light on sandy areas (we need corn to produce an ear, to make feed - if they are too close, and drought stressed - no corn).
The subsoil moisture is non-excitant. Nothing. That is an indicator that we are in trouble.
I know there is a weird weather pattern. Jet Stream, El Nino, La Nina ..
Much weather has come at us from East to West or South East to North West - which is weird. That is due to a big high pressure over northern Canada.

With the storms also come a lot of lightning strikes too. I know we're up there for one of the states with the most strikes due to the Rocky Mountains. Usually we're begging for rain.

We've been in a drought or pre drought for most of the years I've lived here. Thankfully this winter we also got a lot of snow. The ski areas always seem to get their share, but it doesn't always trickle down to us. We also have a lot of fires, so the rain has been awesome for that.

Well, I am in Denver, so yes! I kind of like it but my vegetable garden is pissed. Everything is struggling to get going. Just my luck- everything will finally start growing by August and then we will get an early freeze in September and kill everything off. Gardening, especially growing vegetables in Colorado is not for the fainthearted. Last year we had a stupid giant hailstorm that decimated everything midsummer.

We just updated both of our decks too. What should have taken 5 days took 11 because of the rain. My husband has to mow every 4 days (small amount of grass in the front yard) but will run out between storms too. We've been fortunate enough to avoid damaging hail. Lots of pea sized stuff, but not damaging. Yesterday I drove up Academy and it looked like a snow storm of hail. The road was under construction for about 5 miles and all of the medians and inner lanes are torn out so the mud was just flowing out of the medians. Cars were stranded in intersections. What part of Colorado you reside?
