to pack out YOUR craft room?
Being a stamper since 1993 and scrap booker since 1997 I have accumulated a large amount of crafting supplies! I am now on box 39! I did pack about 10 or so boxes for the first load to our new home. Mostly to finish out sections to load the first Penske truck. Right now I have 10 small Uhaul boxes, and 29 medium boxes. This does not include the stacked Iris shelf unites that are too big to box. Those will be wrapped in plastic wrap for the journey. I've purged some along the way, but DH did not encourage me to spend a great deal of time on that endeavor. It's been a long 2 days in the craft cave, not knowing when I will be able to unpack! LOL.
FYI we are moving 1,658 miles; not a short distance! We are also going over the Rockies, so I have to plan for my liquids to not make a mess while in transit. Wish me luck!

Good luck with the packing and moving!! I can't even begin to guess how many I would need.

I've wondered that too. We are contemplating a move to Bend, Oregon from Colorado Springs in a couple of years. I'm not in love with any of my furniture but my scrappy empire WILL come with me!

We will be moving in about a month and I refuse to count how many boxes, LOL
I will be packing into small shallow boxes so that it will be easier for me unpack and thankfully we are not moving too far from where we are so I can transport everything in my SUV. Everyone who's helping has bee told ( by my dh and both dd's) DONT TOUCH MOMS CRAFT STUFF!
I truly hope everything transports perfectly for you!

I've moved my entire craft room several times and the number of boxes increases with every move. I have enough supplies to have my own store, at this point! Probably 50 boxes? 60? Too many to count.
Good luck with your move!

I'm guessing 40-50 boxes... I purged some old stuff recently and that filled two large very heavy totes. I have one wall in my craft room that is shelves and cabinets full of paper and embellishments and another floor to ceiling shelf that is all Albums. Then a closet full of photos and more stuff. I don't even want to think about moving.

Based on what I already own (they stack) and have re-used for about 15 years. A dozen large storage totes. These hold all my scrapbooks and larger items (paper cutter, circle cutter, etc...). Eight medium storage totes. These hold smaller items (adhesive, scissors, baggies of premade words, mixed media, stencils, paint, etc... I would need to purchase another dozen+?? or so storage large totes. I would also need to purchase photo storage boxes with lids. I currently use medium sized food storage boxes-containers and index cards to sort for my photos. Ove the years, since my last move......my amount of scrapbook product has increased and my storage method has changed (I now have about 40+ themed 13 x 13 storage envelopes for my products, plus three binder of miscellaneous products...all of that would need to be in large totes for transport. I also have a dozen 14 x 18 cafeteria trays, that would need to go in a tote. Then there is my scrapbook furniture >> Rolling carts, and cube units. My entire home would need a large(maybe medium, since boxes and cube units can be stacked) box truck to transport everything all at once. I wouldn't need the semi-truck length. Of course, this is what *I* envision in my mind, but *reality* may be a whole different story.

I moved in 2021 - but I didn't count the boxes but there were a lot. The albums took up the most space, tbh. Since then, I've acquired more furniture, more paper, more stamps/dies...

I moved across country in 2021, I had one box for paper, one plastic storage thing for scrap tools, my and my plastic Iris organizer (probably like 6 Iris containers) for everything else. Small stash, lol. But now I would probably need another box for paper. I’m actually going to consolidate my stash again to make room for baby, so we’ll see how that goes.

I'm probably close to this level, although my stuff is different. Depends also on whether my finished albums and photobooks would be considered part of the crafty stuff or part of the living room bookshelf where they live - they might be 2 boxes full. The contents of my Raskog and desk drawers would maybe represent 2 plastic totes or boxes. Tools would take a little more space but tbh I would consider donating/selling the die cutting machines and getting something more compact instead of moving them. But yeah, not many. I can't even imagine packing up a full scraproom. Good luck with your move angel97701!

Oh wow - good luck on your move!
I don't even want to guess how many boxes I would need. When I moved into our current home 10 years ago, my stash was much smaller and I didn't have dedicated furniture (I scrapped out of a closet or at crops). Now I have a full craft room and my stash has increased significantly (as has my completed albums).

The last time I moved my scrappy stash was in 2016 and it all fit in the trunk and back seat of my Honda Civic. My stash is somewhat bigger now, with a lot more albums to transport... so I would probably think one SUV load would do now.

It took way more than I thought. I’m pretty organized and most of my stuff ir in containers but then there’s the paper/cardstock, the misc tools, cutters, etc.

I don't really want to imagine. A lot. And I hadn't even thought of including the albums in the packing - once they are out of my stash, I don't consider them "mine" anymore - they are family property. Fortunately, when we do move it will be within 5km of our current house so I'll just be able to spend a day moving scrap stuff, and won't have to worry about liquids spilling and stuff!

I had 75 of these glorious apple boxes, 8 large Home Depot boxes of albums and 24 boxes of 14 x 14 x 14 paper. And then I had a ton of furniture. Moving Day 2 by Nancy Tim, on Flickr Moving Day 1 by Nancy Tim, on Flickr

I think fewer than half a dozen boxes, and that assumes the ones with paper are only partially filled. While I think of my stash as being big for me, it's really not that much stuff.
Good luck on the move!

4 large, 6 medium, 8 small & 2 oblong Amazon boxes, my 2 stacks of plastic drawers that I just taped shut, my large scrapbook bag on wheels which is over full of paper.
I moved a year ago and this is what it took

Our contractor for many of our home improvements is also a friend of my husband's for years. When my husband showed him my craft room and made a comment about it being too much, my contractor smiled and said that as a professional AND a husband, he knows not to make a comment and just let people be who they want to be. And that it was so well organized. Smart guy.

I never counted mine. We moved from the east coast to Texas. It was a lot. I boxed mine up in stages and never thought to take a photo.
I hope your move goes well, and that you love your new home and craft space!

a lot. so so many. i am packed pretty tight in there and if i don't purge when it's time for us to move, it will be dozens of boxes aside from the extensive storage and furniture.

at least 100 boxes (14x14). that's not an exaggeration.
i'm setting up a second scrapbook area in our Michigan home with some of my duplicate supplies.
there's still an overflow from 20+ years of scrapping.
i purge but i'm not getting rid of things i love for the sake of it.

Thats about how many I have right now for our move (tomorrow!!). Not counting finished albums. I think I will be able to work everything into my new space just fine ---- except the albums. I am kinda panicking about those right now and where they will go.

Oh, wow! I send best wishes for your move, may it all go smoothly.......I signed today for a 24x40 metal building, for storage for my baking things/scrapbook room in the other half, to be built on our property........and I too have to start the packing process, although it's not as far as your going! I would guess that you might need 50 boxes, I don't like a box packed so heavy that I could not even think about toting it in to unpack. Best wishes!

I don't remember how many boxes but I can tell you it was 3 completely full Toyota Sienna van loads and that didn't include any furniture I've downsized my stash quite a bit since then. Our move was local and I refused to let anyone except DH move my boxes because he knew the wrath that would occur if something happened to them lol!

I wouldn't doubt I have over 50. I have kept all my dies, I have the original big Sizzix dies and alphabets which are bulky plus so many other brands and the boxes packed with them were so heavy. I moved most of my scrapbook stuff myself but I let the movers carry those boxes. I don't plan on moving for a long time, I have collected way more stuff since I have lived here 14 years.

Oh, my quick reading comprehension I missed some. I did not count albums in that as those had previously been in the living room so they weren’t in the craft room boxes. And I didn’t count the 2 medium boxes of beading supplies & the 4 boxes of sewing supplies. But those are crafts…you didn’t just say paper crafting.

Hmm... I will envision packing up things in banker's boxes. Maybe I won't. I've been scrapping since 1995. Ignorance is bliss.

I think that I had about 40 in my last move. We just bought a house and I need to pack it all up again. I got some liquor boxes that are smaller than the "small" packing boxes because some boxes were just too full to lift. And I've learned to only put 2 Cropper Hopper Paper holders in the larger boxes and then fill them will smaller things. I'll use the liquor boxes for my die binders. It turns out that 12" of metal can get kind of heavy!
