Does anyone use plastic bags that hang for storing their kits, etc? I am moving to a smaller room but have a bunch of hanging space in the closet that could be used for organizing.
How do you like this storing method?
Do you have a preference for a bags that work well?

The only thing I currently hang is mini baggies (with premade words). I have them on a couple jewelry trees.
If I were going to use a closet for hanging product, I'd use two gallon ziploc type bags and pant hangers that have two clips on them.
Are the closet doors removable? Could you put a furniture piece(cube unit, dresser, carts, etc...) in there?

LOL I can stack something on the other side as well - or maybe a bookcase or dresser --- but was laying here unable to sleep thinking if I just hung my stuff, I could use the three bars that are there already. There are three levels of bars (so really high) and it just feels like it will end up wasted space if I didn't hang stuff. Going to a significantly smaller room is making my brain work overtime! LOL

Watching this thread. Same. Im coming to terms that I am just going to have to get rid of more than I really want (but there's also some stuff I dont really use much either, so hopefully that'll be all I have to lose!).

I ended up building shelves in my closet that went just right under the hanging bar. For me, that hanging space wasn't. what I wanted. I went to Lowe's for wood and screws, measured the height of my stuff and put in two shelves that held a ton. It took us about 3 hours to make after I had the wood. I put a lot of those 13 x 13 units on the shelves for better storage.
ETA: Right now my closet also has Kallaxes that fit right under the hanging bar too.

I like the idea of using pants hangers with the zip lock bags. Would make everything very visible and you could flip through them easily. Could make colorful dividers of some kind for each category.

Melanie (sp) with A Creatively Crafted Life on YouTube does the hanging thing. I'm not sure where she gets the bags, but she fold the top of the bag around the bottom of a hanger and uses binder clips to secure the bag to the hanger. I believe she said she rents, so this is how she uses the closet rod. I love her organizing videos!!

This is what I did for the longest time before finally just committing and gutting the closet and putting in a shelving system that optimized the entire space. I LOVE it now, and it functions so well. The closet was just typical builder grade format so nothing special. Mine is wall to wall and huge, if we used it for clothes again we'd want a closet system anyway. I know I would NEVER end up rehanging things. I'm a piler so all the work to unclip and clip a baggie up just would not happen and would not be functional for me.

Closets have pretty universal height for hanging clothes if there it is just a one rod type closet. My new closet was a little shorter than the old one, but had two sides instead of one. I measured it when we walked through the house the first time. I was dead set on taking that two piece shelving system with me. In the scheme of things, I knew I could just rebuild it, but I also knew it would be the last room to get help from my husband since every other room in the house needed some type of work in it.

LOL I would hang things from the rod, above the furniture pieces. I wouldn't get rid of anything. I would do vertical storage(utilize the higher wall space, especially for the lesser used items), in your scrapbook room, maybe a couple 5x5 or 4x4 cube units, or floor to ceiling bookcases. I'm envisioning a similar look to a Library >>floor to ceiling shelving with a rolling ladder or step stool. Another option would be an island with lots of drawer or cabinet storage, that can be a work table surface as well as storage. You can custom design and make your own, using Ikea pieces or use a couple dressers, and add a table top-counter top that overhangs it, so you have leg room.
