I really love the black & white B side of this paper from the Simple Vintage Dear Santa. The rest of the collection is meh to me, but over the past few years, I've fallen in love with black in Christmas collections. I feel like it adds depth to collections, because otherwise the red can get overwhelming. The Boho Christmas collection is definitely different than anything I've seen lately and really fun. I love the big swoopy font they're using and that the pink has sort of purple-y undertones. I actually like pink in Christmas collections, but it's usually a more pure pink, so I think this is a nice change. And I really like the Simple Vintage 'Tis the Season collection! It seems really different than most vintage Xmas collections and I think it might be because it uses white. There's cream too, but the soft white really sets off the other colors. |

None of these collections are really catching my eye, but that may be because I just have way too many Christmas kits currently.

Simple Vintage Dear Santa - love the gingham paper.
Boho Christmas - I like the sticker book
Holiday Life - I like some of the die cut packs and a couple of the papers (Magical Moments and Tinsel & Tidings)
Vintage Tis the Season doesn't appeal at all

I don't gravitate to the vintage aesthetic. Boho Christmas & The Holiday Life appear similar to other holiday collections. Nothing from this release is added to my wish list. TFS.

Simple Vintage Dear Santa - I think the chipboard clusters, the rub-ons, the ephemera, layered bits and pieces are going to sell out FAST. I laughed when I saw one of the papers was called "Lump of Coal". The gingham papers will probably be popular, too.
Boho Christmas - Nope.
The Holiday Life - Nope.
Simple Vintage Tis the Season - I think this one will also be very popular. I would bet money that Layle Koncar will build a mini album class around this collection. I particularly like the camera, truck, and skate icons.

I like the b&w merry Christmas text print in the Dear Santa line, but the rest of the line is an easy pass, I'm not a big fan of vintage or traditional Christmas lines. I like the distressed solids in the Tis the Season line (although not for Christmas) but this is also an easy pass, as is The Holiday Life.
Boho Christmas is my pick from these lines. The colour scheme is more my style, and there are a couple of pieces I quite like, I could imagine building a kit around the fa la la or presents papers, and I don't mind the rub ons.

Maybe it's just my mood this morning
But I went into the lines thinking "I need nothing. Nothing is going to feel new or different. I can predict what these look like"... and was pleasantly surprised! I do like several pieces, and it's spread over all 3 lines although Boho Christmas might have a use to scrap Christmas photos from my childhood.

If I had to pick just one, I would choose The Holiday life. I like that there are two shades of green.
but Boho Christmas also has the same two shades of green but I don't like that font or the Santa...
I'll probably pick bits and pieces of all four lines, instead of picking one collection to add to my stash.

Don't know if it's me, or the dreary weather so lighting is bad in here, but all of these lines look really muted and dull to me. Nothing that jumps out and yells "Take me home!"
I think I need to experience summer before I start getting excited about Christmas...

Simple Vintage Dear Santa - I like this one. I'll probably buy a few pieces of it.
Boho Christmas - Not interesting at all.
The Holiday Life - Okay. It is pretty.
Simple Vintage Tis the Season - This one really doesn't do it for me.
My problem is that I already have so much Christmas stuff that it has to really be something special for me to want it.

Dear Santa and Holiday Life are ok. They both have a few things that catch my eye. I may pick up those few things. I may not.
Tis the Season is my favorite of all of these. I really like the classic, traditional Christmas style and colors that it has. And, honestly, I'm not really a traditional Christmas person! Quite a bit of this will probably find it's way to my craft room! LOL!

I was largely underwhelmed by these. Maybe, like grammadee, I am still in summer mode and just not ready to start thinking Christmas. I can think a couple of the papers would be useful--the tags are great and Christmas tags are so expensive that buying a sheet and using these would be very economical, as well as some of the solids and the black and white prints. However, my LSS does not tend to sell Simple Stories individually and I don't think I love any of these more than what is in my stash, so would not be likely to purchase a whole collection pack. I might reconsider when I am more in the Christmas mood. |

I bought some wrapping paper last Christmas that had red poinsettias on a black background and it was so stunning! Really impressive without any extra effort! Dear Santa - I love the layered chipboard and chipboard clusters. I like all of the cut-apart papers, but I don't really like the regular papers. The icons are all adorable, though. Boho Christmas - an easy pass from me, not my style The Holiday Life - I like a lot of it, but probably would choose Dear Santa. This collection is a bit more grown up and modern, though, so it probably would fit with my recent photos better. Probably the smarter choice. Simple Vintage Tis The Season - very pretty, love some of it, not so much other pieces. More photorealistic than I generally like. I'd like to see what people come up with it. I like the papers with the black backgrounds. |

That dark Holiday Binder in the Holiday Life line is going for the 2022 Paislee Press x December Daily album (that sold out so quickly) vibes and I'm here for it. An affordable, understated, dramtically dark but still floral option, yes! Love-love-love the 1970s font in Boho Christmas although I'm a little over the doodly aesthetic. I absolutely need the Number Bits & Pieces ephemera set. So good, so useful, so easy to coordinate with other lines and designs!  Thanks for posting these! I've looked at the board and couldn't find any major 2023 Christmas and Halloween SB lines recap thread. Did I miss them or are they MIA? |
