Walgreens? Walmart? CVS? Office Depot?
Do any of them do a decent job on the prints, and can you get matte finish?

ime - matte finish is only available online not in store.
I prefer CVS in my area for quick local printing - our Walgreens rarely gets the printer correctly calibrated...but that tends to vary by location
The majority of my photos I print via Amazon

I get one hour prints at Walmart and they do a great job. I've compared to other local places since I stopped going to Costco and I wasn't happy with the other places. I haven't tried Office Depot and didn't even know they printed pictures.

I can only get glossy photos nearby. My new go to place for beautiful matte photos is... Amazon. They do a great job, but it takes about 5-7 days to get them back.

It does seem as though the local print options offer only glossy. I have used matte photos in my albums for years. I think I would rather have to wait a week to get matte prints than do glossy.

Walmart, one-hour, in-store pickup, matte only and it's .12 per print. I haven't done a large quantity order in quite some time, so not sure if there's a price break

It's a locally owned store. 4x6 photos are 0.28. They are a really good quality. They also sell photo and art prints.

My mom no longer takes photos of anything and relies on me for my photos. When she needs some new ones to scrap, I have our family members text me their photos and then I upload everything to CVS to be printed. There is always a code, and my mom likes that she can pay for them in store (so that I don't have to pay for them when I place the order) as long as the order is over $20. I haven't noticed any print issues. I don't believe that CVS offers in-store matte but I think you can order them online to be printed elsewhere and then be picked up in-store 3-5 days later.
