My husband just could not handle getting the tree out of the attic this year. So, we have brought in our hibiscus and decorated it. It is so easy, we may make this a tradition.

A few few from around the house. I could not get a good picture of the loft tree and garland on my phone, and I'm too lazy to get out the real camera.
I want a new tree this year. Hours is only 9 ft. We have cathedral ceilings in our great room, so I could go taller.

I love everyone's trees. I don't think a person could have an ugly tree if they tried.

All the kids are grown and in their own homes now so we decided a big tree was just too much hassle for our aging bones to deal with. We passed our 7-1/2 footer on to our granddaughter and her family to enjoy and opted for a new, smaller tree with a new icy blue/silver/white theme. We also put up a second small tree with our traditional sugar plum/toys/kids theme. Attachments:

Day One... The next morning... The guilty party who is determined to prove that not only cats can climb 9 foot trees! (the crash may have been helped by the pit bull and the blind blue heeler but we'll never know. I threatened taking away all the goodies from Santa Paws but they're not caving yet! ha)

Loved looking at all those gorgeous trees, even the fallen ones - thanks for sharing everyone. Mines going up in the next couple of days (I'm getting a new one tomorrow) and think I'll do the rainbow this year - I love it Meg.

These trees used to be "HUGE"- now not so much.
Every year I take a pic of kids in front of their room trees they picked out as toddlers. Pathetic little trees, but they love them as they have had them as far back as they can remember- when they seemed HUGE to them and looked way up to the stars on top. This is last year. First year DS put his up on a trunk and he is still towering of his once mighty tree.

We invested in a new artificial tree this year, and I love it. Plus it's our first pre-lit tree which makes it so much easier. We changed the position of our tree from previous years too, and I can't believe we didn't do this years ago. The little bird in his nest is another new addition this year - so cute!

Jenny, I'm looking for a nice artificial tree for next year, can I ask where you got yours from? I have seen so many and not liked any of them but yours looks lovely.
I have a 7ft real tree and don't know how to post a photo as I don't have any sites to put a photo on. I have the tethered it to the wall , but looking at some of the fallen trees here I am wandering if I should triangulate it, with a kitten in the house!
Such lovely trees on this thread- I look forward to the Christmas tree thread on here every year!

As I was looking at this thread and loving all these trees, I was starting to regret not putting our big tree up. That was until I saw the two "downed" trees. Oh my.
We have two 16 month old beagles that get into everything! I know my tree and ornaments would never get through the Chistmas season.
Thanks for sharing the pictures.

They are not cheap, but they do have some heavy discounts when they have sales. I think any from the realistic series would be good. Ours does have some more 'traditional' aka cheap needles, but it's just in the back of the branches adding depth where you can't see the detail. They tell you what proprtion is realistic vs traditional for each tree type.

As well as our tree, when we moved into this house, we decided to start a tradition of finding a new reindeer to buy each year. This is our 6th year, and there have been a few other animals snuck in there too. This is this year's gathering (the hare and moose are not part of the Christmas collection, but they've moved from their permanent homes to join in too). Some have come in pairs, so heaven only knows how much space they'll take up by the time we get to 20 years!

Cedar garland from Costco outside. First year doing this and I love it. Usually I wrap lights on the railing. My tree relaxing (for a week!). I'm finally decorating today. Last year this was what my final tree looked like. I called it a natural Christmas. ;-) Attachments:

Love seeing everyone's trees, so pretty! Here's ours, it's in a new spot this year since we bought a new sectional that doesn't look good split. And that meant a new creative way to hang our stockings too The first picture is without ornaments since we were waiting on everyone to be home to add them.

Everyone's trees are so beautiful. Since it's just me this year, and the cats always knock the tree down anyway, this is my tree.

I am loving these photos - we are going away for Christmas this year and, for one reason or another, are not putting up a tree and only minimal decorations (though we do have a couple of cute snowmen and elves hanging around!!) so it's great to look at other people's trees!

Love all your trees! We got a slim pencil tree this year to fit into our small space. Love it since I finally didn't have to remove any furniture to make space for a tree.
