Hey challenge lovers... Hope you are wrapping up your Q-2 projects, having at least a little time in this busy season to play with paper. If you are on a TEAM, time to start doing the math... Linda and scrappyrabbit will be wanting the numbers soon.
Thought we would do something different for Q-3.
Instead of setting up teams and collecting one mega set of challenges for the 3 months, we will give the teams--and the math--a rest. So no sign-ups this round.
I know lots of people look forward to SKETCHtember, with a new sketch and twist each day of the month.
But in the meantime... Each week of July and August, there will be a new set of scrappy prompts to tickle your creative fingers. You can choose to take them on each week as they pop up. Or, you can go back and grab them all if you happen to have a full day or two to devote to crafting and you want to hit it hard. There will be some that pop up each week, with a different twist each time. But some will be unique to the week they are in. I will link each week's list to one stickied thread so you can find them all when you are looking for ideas.
So for now, just wondering what type of prompts would inspire you to play with paper over the summer (or winter if you are south of the equator)?

Sketches and scrap lifts are my favourite challenges. I also like the theme challenges, and because I am so far behind with my scrapping, I have no shortage of photos to scrap for almost every theme possible! I would imagine that someone who is more up-to-date with their scrapping might find themes a bit more difficult.
I also like challenges to help me keep up to date with my scrapping. So seasonal themes, or photo challenges.

This sounds very scrapbook-centric. As a cardmaker only, I feel a little left out. Has this sort of challenge quarter been done before? If so, are there any cardmakers out there who were able to use the prompts and play along?

I am still building the list for the first week of prompts and will be setting the lists as the summer goes on. Trying to keep the prompts generic enough to appeal to a scrapbooker or a cardmaker.

When I look at the challenges I complete regularly there is the SLoC ones, which don't really translate to anything else (hopefully azcrafty will throw those up on the cardmaking board even without teams or points). I usually get a few product, technique, and "other" challenges, rarely the shape/icon or color ones. I virtually never complete the themes and never, ever the recipes; I find those two categories very scrapbook-oriented. Among "other" I like the use up kits, finish a project, use something you've never opened sorts of challenges.

How about revisiting last years or year before that CARDtober challenges or even the Tuesday challenges we did for awhile to keep it easy on you grammadee? There is so many of them. I'm still going to post the SLoC on the 2nd of every month.
