Scrapbooking has a way of creating some frustration at times. You can't find a certain something that would fit your photos and/or story perfectly and you keep searching, hoping to come across a treasure. Be it a specific colour theme, a particular aesthetic, a lesser-known travel destination, icons of non-trendy animals or food, a rare theme, we all have something that just isn't easy to find in scrappy collections. But our not-so-popular interests can suddenly pop up out of seemingly nowhere in the SB sphere and make our documenting hearts so content. Come share your current niche scrappy finds with links to the products if they are available to buy so scrapbookers with similar interests can track them down and stock up too! And post your niche must-finds in case anyone can help you out.

I just came across the new Photoplay Pampered Pooch ( ACOT + SB.com - non affiliate links) which is filled with small and toy breed dogs. And oh my, short-haired chihuahuas! ❤️ Finally something fun with chi icons to document all the fun I'm having with my mother's little dog. Upon closer inspection: a short-haired chi in the bath tub (I am the one giving Luna her baths, eep!) and a short-haired wearing a little suit (Luna is your typical shivering-when-it's-cold chi who needs dressing up as soon as the weather cools down). What is this? Perfection? And there's even a short-haired chi in the stamp set! 😍 I was silly happy upon accidentally discovering this new release. I still am. Can't wait to order myself double of everything.

Zebras. All the Zebras. Perfect for Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. Yes, I noticed the return of zebras for the random anima icon in this line! 🦓 There's also a zebra icon die-cut and a zebra "card" die-cut in the ephemera pack if I'm not mistaken. I watched the video for this line just yesterday. Adaptive items like canes, walkers, wheelchairs, also, etc What was the line with the girl in a wheelchair? I feel like it came out aroun 2020-ish. Jen Hadfield? Pebbles? *off to look for it*

And not really "gendered" the way so many dog collections perplexingly tend to be. I love the focus on the dog care, like the little fur catching glove thingy. So many dog people take pix of their pups when they need or just had a bath or when they come back from the groomers with their little bandanas on

Back when I was making scrapbooks about living in and traveling through Japan what I really needed were stickers with more As and Os. If you go to Kyoto, Okayama and then on to Kumamoto you'll understand how expensive letter stickers can get! I figured out that stamps would serve me better, and these days I'd have the option of using a die cut or electronic cut alpha, but back in the day I just wished stickers would give me some vowels! Kelly Purkey was the only one who did.
I always thought that making PL specific days and dates stickers was a missed opportunity too. I would use smaller stickers with the first letter of the days all the time on photos, and I would run out of 1s and 2s like crazy.
Can't think of any current wishes or finds...

So many dog people take pix of their pups when they need or just had a bath or when they come back from the groomers with their little bandanas on Yes! And with the rise of dog ownership in the younger generations, this is a really smart move on Photoplay's behalf. I absolutely adore the quirkiness and ease of use of this line. Like you said, we all proudly photograph our dogs freshly groomed or buy them special things like dog-friendly meat-flavoured "soap" bubbles and cute collars/harnesses (that collar PP would be great for dog and cat owners *cough ownées cough*). So fun to finally have something dedicated to document all of this. Also, am I considering cutting off the Yorkie's head in that dog-in-the-purse icon and replacing it with one of the chihuahuas? Why, yes, yes I absolutely am. I need to tell the tale of Luna always going grocery shopping with my mother and the cashier lady who's crazy about her and calls my mother over if she's queued at another register just so she can say hi and pet Luna in my the purse. And I can use all the leftovers for gotcha day celebration cards for the fosters we've had. This is a total winner. ACK! There is a shih tzu! It truly is a lucky find collection. 😉

I so appreciate finding 1-31/1-24 sets for DD so turning that into an actual smaller-scaled product makes a lot of sense.

My latest find after a few months search is for storage. I got rid of my beloved (had them for many years) *heavy* to "pull-push-roll" file carts, and got these bins to hold my 13 x 13 plastic envelopes that contain the majority of my scrapbook products. I looked for awhile and wasn't seeing anything that I thought would work, and not be so heavy. One day I went in Hobby Lobby and there it was. I bought one to try it out and went back the next day and got more. And I had four Christmas gift cards to pay for them, yay! www.hobbylobby.com/Spring-Shop/Storage-Planters/Baskets/Black-Rectangle-Ribbed-Container/p/81016548All the bins sit on top of cube units.

Christmas kits are often a source of frustration for me. I dislike traditional Christmas colours because they're so drab, and they do not match our bright summery Christmas down here in the southern hemisphere. I am always giddy with excitement when I find Christmas kits with bright colours, and embellishments with Santa wearing a pair of board shorts! I understand why they can be hard to find, designers and manufacturers have to make products that are appealing to the majority of people, rather than a few thousand scrappers in Australia and NZ! My most exciting Christmas kit last Christmas was Peppermint Twist by our very own Gina Miller. It matched my tree and decorations perfectly, gorgeous pinks and mint green! If I didn't know any better, I would have thought that gina snuck into my house and designed her kit around my tree and decor! My other exciting finds are All Is Bright by Traci Reed, and these oldies: Christmas in the Sun by JoCee Designs and July Jingle by Humble & Create (retired kit so no link).

The big ones like to camp, hike, and go on adventures. (biased dog mom)

I have a Kelly and an Elliot in my family. I run out of "L"s really quickly. There are never enough "2's either. I don't know why scrapbook manufacturers don't realize we are living in the 2020s. 2022 was especially brutal.

We go to a hot air balloon festival every year, and although those icons pop up now, they were nonexistent 15 years ago. Once I started seeing them included in travel themed kits and one offs, I had a nice stash to use, plus a lot of patterned paper.
I’m always looking for carousels and carousel horse icons and paper that aren’t so circus-y and primary colored.
Swans and geese are also on my list of things I have an eye out for. Maggie Holmes had a collection with swans. I have that as a small paper pad in my stash.

Thank you pantsonfire! Really beautiful and definitely going in my cart. Love the vintage feel, I guess it’s Mary Poppins? But definitely works for the photos I have, plus there’s a stamp.

(Mind you, I'm all for any dog wearing bows. There simply is no such thing as too much cuteness.) Because I feel the need to advocate for small dogs after dealing with them as fosters for the past year (grew up with big ones) - and there are so many misconceptions about them, I'm just going to add here that most dogs, including small ones, absolutely love going on big walks and into nature. Many small ones are major adventurers, just like their big counterparts.

aj2hall would the Studio Calico Wander Often collection work? I got the 6x8 paper, embellishments, and arrows from SB.com. Has various paper and b-sides with things you can cut apart. Maybe it is general enough for your needs. www.scrapbook.com/store/sca-ns347909.html

Strawberries are my absolute favorite, we go picking every year. I was thrilled to see this collection by Simple Stories. And I still love this older collection by Echo Park. Did you see the Lawn Fawn strawberry picking stamp set ( Berry Special)? The cutest little mice... I'm trying so hard to resist ordering the stamps + dies.

I’d love a modern version of Boy Scout things. The only stuff I find looks like it’s been hanging around since 1997. And not camping stuff, that’s easy to find. I’m taking icons like the neckerchief, Boy Scout salute hand symbol, knots (sometimes there’s some in nautical lines), the logo. Sentiments like: scouts honor, the motto, court of honor, merit badges, earning badges, ranking up, sign-offs, troop meetings, community service, etc!
I was happy that the latest SS Trial Mix had merit badge motifs. But there’s so much more to scout life than hiking and camping.

I went to GASC scrapbook convention this past weekend with the intention of looking for 21st birthday themes or beer related themes for my son's 21st bday party pics. I can usually find niche themes at the conventions. I came up empty handed but then I found this unbranded beer mug die on Amazon on decided to get it so I can have some type of beer theme for his page. I have some pics of him with his Dad/Uncles/Cousins having a beer & toasting to his 21st bday. I don't think my son really liked the beer - he doesn't like anything carbonated but he wanted to try one for his 21st so he did! www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08L95G34J/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I can usually find niche themes at the conventions. I just saw that Lawn Fawn released some alcoholic beverage dies this month but they're more of the fruity, not hoppy, variety ( Build-a-Drink + Build-a-Drink Cocktail add-on). One of their sample cards was actually a 21st birthday card!

mbanda If you can use the rest of the elements in the collection, Pinkfresh Studio's Simple The Best that came out in autumn last year could work for your son's beer-thday party photos. There's a beer mug, "freshly brewed" could work with a beer brewery setting, "cheers". The colours also look like a perfect match for beer photos and lean more masculine. Some stuff has sold out from various vendors since release but there's enough to make a few nice LOs.

It was always hard to find Scout themes when I was working on my son's albums. I did purchase the K&Co collections and albums when they first came out & held on to them. I was also able to get the paper collections when from My Mind's Eye (I think that was the company) that licensed with the Scouts K&Co. Both of these collections had the icons you are referring to. I've seen some of the K&Co on sites like ebay so it might be worth trying to look there or set up a search to get notified if any listings come up. I did see a few loose papers on the Frantic Scrapper site but none of the ephemera packs which had the icons & badges. Note the K&Co papers are thin - like old-school scrapbook papers! www.franticstamper.com/search?query=boy-scouts

I absolutely love the strawberry collection! Thank you for sharing! I completely agree with you that a nature walk/hiking collection needs to happen! We don't camp (ever) and have only visited a handful of national parks, but we do a lot of nature walks and hiking!
