Does anyone have any good recommendations for us? we fly in late, so we need something close, and then have to go back to the airport the next day to pick up our car rental.
Thank you!!!

I don't know what is near the airport since I've always stayed downtown or just across the river from downtown. If you are staying in Charleston for more than the one night, I would go ahead and find a hotel that suits your travel plans and just go back to the airport the next day for your rental car. It's Charleston, not NY. It isn't going to take that long or cost that much to do that. Personally, I hate moving hotels if I don't have to. The last time we went we stayed at the Residence Inn Charleston Riverview. They offer a 2 bedroom suite which was perfect for us at the time.

I used to always stay at the Frances Marion because it was a decent hotel well-located downtown. I agree that Charleston is small enough and drivable enough that I don't know that I'd worry about staying at the airport, specifically, but I went to Charleston primarily when I lived in Columbia, so I've never actually flown out of there.

The only thing I am concerned of is that we fly in at like 1130 pm. Late. I want ease. We will most likely have to uber there right? I suppose there isn't anything walkable? We have a VRBO in Folly Beach booked for the next day, and pick up car next day.

There's a Hilton Garden in near the airport that has a free shuttle. I haven't stayed at that one, but they're usually pretty consistent. Have a good trip!

Enjoy Folly, we have gone several times and love it. The restaurant at the pier is not as good as it used to be, but the full pier is now open. Any restaurant suggestions?! we are big in to seafood.

I love Rita's and usually get the crab cakes. They have a pina colada drink with Key lime that is very good.
We enjoyed the Crab Shack for our big family meal when we were there last year. out of 17 people we had like 10 orders for crab legs, and everyone loved them.
My inlaws like to go to Loggerheads when they stay. It's a bar and grill with live music.
The pier used to have a great little restaurant with the BEST she crab soup but when we were there last year it was NOT up to par.
For breakfast lost dog cafe is great. If you just want coffee there's a Starbucks in the lobby of the hotel. There's also a small store on the island or a Publix and walmart on the way in. The chinese place next to the pubix was good last year but we were also starving so take that with a grain of salt.
My ILs rent from the same beach chair guys, I thought I had a photo but I don't. They have a shack on the beach where you can get chairs and an umbrella set up for the day.
Have fun, my travel budget line item got changed to knee surgery so I'm jealous of everyone who gets to travel this year.
