We have the perfect spot to install a dog wash space - kind of. Our laundry room is main floor, with a door to the garage. Due to the way our lot was graded, we have 3 steps up from the garage into the laundry room, and then 4 up into the main floor of the house (the front door is steps outside and then two steps up from an entry way to the main floor). So the ceiling in our laundry room is the same height as the main floor - it's about 15 foot ceilings. If we stacked the washer & dryer and moved the laundry sink over, where the sink sits now would fit a great dog washing space. However - if we stack the washer dryer (first off this set doesn't stack I don't think so we'd be waiting for these to die first lol) the window is partially covered with the washer/dryer. ETA!! I lied - further investigation on Electrolux website says the set I have CAN be stacked with a $40 kit - yay! Would that bother you? Here are photos - excuse the mess - the room has become a "dump here before it goes to the garage" kind of room. This is from the main floor door - I'm standing on the main floor looking into the room - so you can see the height. You can also see how far the dryer sticks out into the window. We can't push it back because the dryer vent hose is behind the dryer and goes out that wall so there needs to be space behind the dryer: This is looking from the garage door at the space - we'd stack, move the sink over and then put the washing space right were the sink & laundry hamper are now: I envision a rectangle tiled area that has about a 10" tall edge around the whole thing, with tiles up the wall and a shower head that comes off to wash the dog and a drain in the floor of the space. But I'm just not sure of the covering of the window part......

That's a really cool unit - but not something I want in my laundry room lol. Murphy is going to be 120 pounds so we'd prefer something we can walk him into vs having him climb stairs to get into. Super cool idea - but holy expensive! Definitely something to ponder - I do use that laundry tub for soaking things once in a while but certainly a dog station like that could be multipurpose....

I'd put your dog wash station under the window and incorporate a small sink into it. If you need to soak laundry, I'd then just use a bucket. I'd then stack the washer and dryer next to that.
We just bought a house and are turning half the formal dining area into a mudroom. I've been looking at something like this--we can use it as a sink or a dog wash area. But labs are only about 70 lbs! I like the stairs which look sturdy enough for even an old doggie and then I wouldn't need to bend over as much to wash the dogs. Dang it--it won't let me copy and past the link for some reason. I'll post it below from the TapATalk app.

This is what I was thinking of when I said to put the dog wash under the window and a sink next to it. Then stack the washer and dryer. This is what we are considering for our set up.

I've been googling for an hour lol The plumbing is all right where the current sink is -- DH is fairly handy but moving it way over would require demo of the room. I'd much rather just have to shuffle and keep plumbing where it is. Getting rid of the sink entirely might be an option - but I worry about resale a bit. I'm asking my designer friend what her thoughts are!

LOL Still tricky - there is no drain in the floor there - it would require a total re-do of the floor & plumbing and we can't easily access under the floor to do it from below a there are all built in shelving/storage under it.

You are only moving it about 3 feet and I think you need an inch of drop for every foot for the drain pipe. (But obviously check the code!) So if you can access the space, it may be worth it. If you don't move the location of the sink/bath, I'd forgo the separate sink or come up with a plan with stairs into a sink. We just got done house hunting and there were plenty of laundry rooms that I saw that didn't have a sink. I think the pet bath would be a good compromise--put in a tap/sprayer combo so that it's easy enough to wash your hands and fill a bucket. You could then either leave the washer dryer unstacked or add a cupboard or coat hooks next to the window.

So you would only be covering about 4” of the window? If so, I wouldn’t mind, and I am one who does not like furniture covering windows. My concern would be if you are able to open the window because it looks like the window opens from the side that would be covered. Maybe move the washer/dryer stack 6” over so the window does not seem as covered.

It does open from that side, but the lock/space I would push to open the window from is that middle bar - and it opens all the way so half is open half is closed. We don't often open it as the door to the room slams shut with a breeze so we leave that shut unless we are airing out the room.

Murphy is going to be 120 pounds so we'd prefer something we can walk him into vs having him climb stairs to get into I would rethink this if I were you. Bending over to wash him will be murder on your back. I don't have a dog wash at home, but take my 115 pounder to a self-serve dog wash and having stairs he can walk up so he's at my level is waaaaaay easier.

I've just messaged my friend who is a designer to come and measure and make a plan for revamping the room as we can when we have $$ - she'll do me a couple layout ideas and we will take it from there!

This is probably no help at all, but when we were designing our main bath at the lake cabin we just put in an extra large, walk in tiled shower with an adjustable hand held shower head for the express purpose of walking a large dog in to wash him or her. After we saw that at our neighbor’s, we thought it was a fantastic idea so we did that too.
Alternately at home, we just take ours to the pet supply place in our area that has a walk up dog bath. For the $5 it costs, it’s well worth making the mess there instead of in our house.

I've got a shower stall on the main floor "powder room" and we put in extra long handicap hand held shower head that reaches to the floor for dog washing. Easy in and out - also useful if some one has had surgery and needs the handheld for a bit! Dogs here are 50-70 lbs, 50 lb one hops on a shower chair so I don't have to bend over or I kneel on a pad on the floor. Serves double duty for us as an extra "regular" or spare shower on occasion plus dog wash. Not sure this would work for you but might help someone else!

LOL, I see what you did there. 🤣 During the summer he either gets washed in the lake or in the walk in shower at the cabin. At home he usually doesn’t get dirty enough to need an immediate bath. We have a stand alone shower on the main floor of our house too and I’ve given him a hose down in there in an emergency but it’s not ideal. DH has taken him to the pet store in the winter because they have one of those big dryers.
