Does anyone have a preference between the cuttlebug and the sissix machine? I want to buy one but can't decide which.
UPDATE
I purchased the Sizzix Big Shot. It was on sale at scrapbook.com with an additional 10 per cent off. Can't wait to receive it and start playing!

Does anyone have a preference between the cuttlebug and the sissix machine? I want to buy one but can't decide which. I loved my cuttlebug for a long long time, but since they quit making them quite a few years ago, it's very difficult to get plates. Instead of getting a new manual machine when I semi retired my cuttlebug, I got an Empress Mini. That said, if you have the option for a used Cuttlebug and it's it good condition and reasonably priced, it is a nice machine. I've never used the sizzix so I can't speak to that.

I have an OG QuicKutz Revolution and Sizzix Big Shot.
I love the Sizzix because I can cut multiple dies at once. I love the Revolution for when I just need a few dies cut because it is smaller and lighter weight.
I use a Magic Mat on the bottom and the plastic plate on the top for my sandwich and cut down into the magic mat. My plates warp just a tint bit but nothing bad.

I have had several Sizzix machines. I prefer them to the Cuttlebug.

i had the original version and the new version of the CB. when sizzix released the Big Shot Foldaway, i bought it and really liked it. enough to finally let go of my 2 CB machines. i like that it folds like the CB but it seems stronger than the CB machines.

I started with the Cuttlebug and then moved to a Big Shot and much prefer it.

I haven’t used any other machine but the thing I dislike about the Sizzix Big Shot is that it always takes up the same footprint whether it’s in use or not. A machine like the Spellbinder Platinum 6 with folding sides would look nicer and be easier to tidy away (small space crafter, in the dining room here).

If I only had one machine, it would need to be a Sizzix. I've put mine to the test with thick sandwiches and it's still going strong over a decade later. I'm a Revolution fan as well, but it will only cut wafer thin dies and you can't force a sandwich--I broke a gear on my original one, but rebought it because I like the small platform so much.
