grammadee - that hockey page is amazing, and a great accomplishment for being able to "repurpose" old bits of kits to make it! And those stenciled fireworks - well, let's just say I bought the VB black foundations paper at my LSS today scrappyrabbit - oh how I LOVE the colours you used to make a Christmas layout - subtle and fun! pantsonfire - what great design with the offset photos but balance you created with the anchoring strips and half frame embellie cluster up top. I also love the titling work! I finished my "trip" pages. I think I ended up with about a dozen pages for a 5 day trip. These 2 are across from each other in order, so I made them to coordinate a bit. layout pupparazzi by kirstendrew, on Flickr layout plus maggie by kirstendrew, on Flickr

Here are my five photos for prompt #3. I used my PhotoCollage app to surround the pic of my post-weeding hands with the veggies and flowers in my garden. Thinking I may just print this out as 8x8 and slap it onto a page...

pantsonfire, i LOVE that page! Even the palm trees look like splashes LOL. Great photo of air time. I tried for an hour with dgs at the skate park last week to get a shot of him with all his scooter wheels off the pavement, but not sure I actually captured what I was looking for. Need to go through my printed pic's again. Congrats on finishing your trip album, kitbop. I am heading over to the Gallery to take a closer look at your pages and leave some love.

ETA I have no idea why they are so large - sorry! I haven’t done any LOs for a couple of months, but managed to do two this week. I finally got around to scrapping my DD's graduation last summer - well, a single photo of it. I will go back and do others! And this one is of my best friend and love of my life (sometimes!😄)

lesley your pages are FANTASTIC! Love that spray of buttons and dots framing your dd's photo: looks like confetti to celebrate her accomplishment. Great colours to go with her blouse, too. And so much to love about the bottom page! Great photo. Super title. Those quilt squares really highlight his "vintage" years. And I love those clusters of tiny stars. Thanks so much for sharing your creations with us!

Finished this LO this afternoon. FINALLY one of my kids' families decided to hit Universal Studios and Harry Potter World on a trip to Orlando! Had fun scrapping these pic's they posted. Still need to do the journaling. wizards welcome by Gramma Dee, on Flickr I was inspired by Chinagirl828's Sketchy Saturday sketch to use the stripes, but I never end up with a page that clean. Got the stripes, though. And turned them on end after seeing kitbop's take on the sketch.

Can you believe we are already one week into July? Busy day ahead of me, so wanted to drop in the next set of prompts before I forget. I am also copying these and pasting them into the op so they will be easy to find. Lazy Crazy Daze of Summer Week TWO Prompts:1. A little PEA lifting. I love everything craftymom101! Great page design. Fun choice and placement of all the elements. This week I want to lift THIS fun page. Would love to see what YOU can take from this fantastic page to lift! I will be going for the grid photo placement and the depth in the clusters. And a card design to play with… I have been drawn to rainbow designs lately. Have a couple of sets of rainbow dies, but don't use them nearly often enough. For our inspiration this week I bring you joblackford's creation. I love the bright colours with the rainbow lifting out of the clouds, the bold greeting, the dimension... But you can take one or all of the elements you see here to inspire you when making a greeting card or an embellishment for your page: June share by jo.blackford, on Flickr 2. Let’s get BEACHY! I know a lot of us fell in love with the latest 49&Market line. I know it is not out yet, but there are lots of other pretty papers in my stash that may be able to stand in for them. As our colour inspiration, let’s turn to their Sunburst Colored Foundations pack. No need to scrap the beach. Or to use all these colours. And you can add in white or black or kraft. 3. Oh Snap! (photo challenge) ZOOM OUT! Let’s get the wide angle view for this week. Focus on the horizon and give us the landscape view of what you see. Try for at least TWO of these photos this week. If you are on a road trip, take a photo whenever your passengers—or YOU—say “Are we THERE yet?” 4. We’ve got CLASS! This is a technique I love to use for backgrounds, whether for cards or pages. Not anything new here, but Carissa Wiley’s video tutorial has my fingers itching to get inky. Just a reminder of what you can come up with if you just play with reactive ink pads, like Tim Holtz Distress inks or Oxides. I like to use Vicki Boutin’s foundations cs, but watercolor paper is a good base if you want to do a few panels (haven’t seen watercolor paper at 12x12 size). Would love to see what you do with this technique on a card or page. www.sprinkledwithglitter.com/blog/easy-watercolor-effects-with-dye-inks5. Pop it UP! Use any method to pop up some of your project elements—foam tape, extra matting layers, multiple diecuts all glued together. 6. Theme for Week # TWO is RELAX. Interpret this any way it speaks to you. Scrap some pic’s of a relaxing scene, a person or pet curled up in a comfy place. Create a project the easiest way possible (using pre made items, or fewer elements or more white space…) 7. Dots, circles & splats. Dig out that dotty pp or your enamel dots. Grab your circle punches or dies or stencils. Splatter some ink around. Create a full background, photo mat, or PL card. Back up a cluster with stamped dots or circles. Use a circle as a base for your focal image or journaling spot. Let’s roll… 8. Double the fun! Play twinsies with your photos &/or supplies. Divide your background in two portions—vertically, horizontally, or diagonally. Include exactly TWO of at least one element on your project. They don’t have to be the same size—but they could be. 9. Jump in: the water’s fine! Use paper or embellishments or diecut shapes that bring refreshing water to mind. Do the wave! Add some fishies or sand stars or shells for fun. 10. Way Back Machine The machine took me back to July, 2019 to this fun challenge posted by hop2. Be Random - pick a photo at random, without looking, from your phone/digital storage or physical storage & scrap it ( for cards other projects you can use a random stamp set or image you pick without looking ) 11. Ooooh… Shiny…. Ultra smooth is a texture, right? Got some of that photorealistic pp that is kinda glossy? You don’t need to use it for your whole project, just use some of it somewhere. Or grab some foiled cs, or use whatever technique you usually use to foil at least one element on your project. 12. Challenge YOURSELF and us! What do YOU want to accomplish, scrapwise, this week? Organize one craft supply? Find your scrappy desk or counter? Put together 4 pages? Or 8 cards? Take some steps to start that vacation album from 2013? Finish a UFO that has been begging you to Just. Get. It. Done. ? Take that new tool out of the box and take it for a spin? Whatever it is, please reply to this thread with a heading #12 CHALLENGE MYSELF and let us know what it is. Later in the week, let us know what you managed to do. *@shakti wants to keep going on finishing class projects she has begun. 13. BAKERS’ DOZEN. Can you cram ALL of this dozen challenges into one project? Hmmmm?

For Week 2, #3, Zoom Out. Took this with my phone through the SUV window on my way to town. The big hill in the background is indeed just a big hill across the river. We call it Moose Mountain. Not very clear, but kinda like a watercolour painting, eh? I love the pretty canola fields this time of year.

I put a few challenges to work in starting my layout last night, trying to incorporate the colours challenge, the "double" challenge, the water challenge (photos + cut "waves" into the backing element), popping things up, adding dots (OK, when do I not add dots??). Thanks grammadee for helping keep my scrappy process moving along by giving us challenges to guide! I get way less hung up when I have instructions layout solo duo by kirstendrew, on Flickr

Another sweet puppy bonding page. And really well designed. I love what you did with the join between the two background papers. Really adds interest, as does that trio of dot trios.

One LO for me this morning, but this one took alot of time. Ever since I saw the photos my dgs (aged almost ten) captured when i lent him my camera at his brother's hockey camp, I have been envisioning how the scrapbook LO would look. The reality, of course, is not as fantastic as the vision. But I think I am happy with these pages. When you lend a kid a camera by Gramma Dee, on Flickr The camera element needed to be painted and dried. I then started using a ruler to draw lines, on a couple of full sheets of expendable cs, eminating from where I planned to place the cb camera with his pic inside it. I then cut out each segment, glued various photos on it, then trimmed and glued the segment onto my finished page. By then the camera was dry, so was able to set that on, then add title, journaling, and embellishments. The only prompt I used, I think, was to pop up the camera and some other items.

Saving my space for when I finish the layout I started yesterday. Finished. I really like the way it turned out. I was inspired by artbabe's rays of color for this layout about my daughter's birthday in Las Vegas. I used papers from Vicki Boutin's Color Story, along with other embellishments from my stash that I colored to coordiate. (Sorry for the glare and the dark spot. It was hanging on the wall when I took the picture.) I missed this fun LO, riversong1963, when we bopped onto the second page of the thread. LOVE what you did with that rainbow background. The large scallops hint at clouds, and separate your photo block perfectly. The colours and excitement of this page are the perfect backdrop for a Vegas bd page.

Got a LO done this morning. (Did the watercolour background yesterday for prompt #4). This is also posted in pantsonfire 's July 8th Sketchy Saturday thread. On our way to Sun Fun by Gramma Dee, on Flickr Okay, so what Week 2 prompts do I have here? #2 colour palette, #4 watercolour background, #6 does anything say relaxing more than a big Rum Bucket? #9 no watery accents, but you can see the pool in the background of the pic's on the second page, #11 foiled stickers. Hoping to see what the rest of you come up with this week....

I *thought* I was going to be lifting joblackford's fun rainbow card, but in the end my rainbow is upended and the background texture is gone. But here is my card Rainbow bd by Gramma Dee, on Flickr And here is a lift that keeps a little closer to the original, at least in page design. I was inspired by Andrea Lake's fun LO on page 14 of SCT magazine, Summer 2023July 24 by Gramma Dee, on Flickr Anyone else been scrapping this week?

And here are the prompts for this coming week. Have fun! Lazy Crazy Daze of Summer Week THREE
1. A little PEA lifting. This week I went back to July 2022 for inspiration, and this gorgeous page by wordyphotogbabe caught my eye. Love the muted colours, the care and attention the background reveals, the reflective journaling, the use of repeated shape. So many ways to take inspiration whether we lift this page exactly or make it totally our own design. Have fun! As for card lifting inspiration, these sunny cards by gramma popped up at me. And that is the feature I most want to lift, although the giant suns are an attention grabber too. What can YOU do, on a card or page or other element that has this pop up attitude? IMG_1109 by CLAUDIA LOVELESS, on Flickr 2. Back to Basics! Remember when your choices for colour all came out of a box of 8 crayons? Let’s get back to that. This colour wheel has a few more than 8 to choose from , but the idea is there. For this prompt, choose THREE colours from this wheel and use them on your project. They can be side-by-side or spread apart as far as Red-Blue-Yellow. But be bold. Have fun being a kid again! 3. Oh Snap! (photo challenge) IN YOUR FACE! How about a selfie? Or a closeup shot of someone else’s face? Catch those expressions of joy, curiousity, deep thought. The look they give you when you tease them, surprise as they open a gift… 4. We’ve got CLASS! Speaking of a box of crayons, let’s do some colouring. Simon Hurley’s video goes through in detail how to stamp multiple images and then colour them with alcohol markers. But I am thinking many of the tips will apply to using crayons, watercolour pens or pencils &/or inks with water brushes. 5. Heavy Metal! Get out those brads, eyelets, metal embellishments and let them make some noise! Even staples will do, but add something metallic to your project. 6. Theme for Week # 3 is PLAY. Are you scrapping playtime? Catch a playful look on someone’s face in a photo? Or are you just having fun playing with your scrappy toys to create something that makes you or someone else happy? This is a hobby. Have FUN! 7. Chevrons, arrows and triangles. Nothing shows movement and fun like arrows and triangles. Find them on patterned paper, in your stamps and dies and stencils, in your sticker stash. Slap ‘em on your project. See where they take you when you take them out to play. 8. Rule of THREE. Okay, there IS a “rule of three” in art and scrapbook design, and if you know it, you are free to use it for this prompt. But I was thinking more of three photos (or focal images on a card), three clusters, and/or three word greeting or title. 9. The sky’s the limit! Use paper or embellishments or diecut shapes that have you looking up. Clouds, rainbows, sunshine, kites, butterflies, balloons… How about finding a place for one of those BEST DAY EVER! diecuts or stamps? 10. Way Back Machine Let’s go back to July of 2020 for this one: Conquer something! July was named for Julius Caesar. Julius Caesar is famously accredited with the quote: "I came. I saw. I conquered." Take on something new, overcome your fears, and conquer it! Use a new technique, try materials or colours you usually do not use. Remember, though, we are just PLAYING this week. Have some fun, learn something if you can, but don’t stress about it. 11. Textured Cardstock. Okay, the easy way to meet this prompt is to grab some cs that already had a texture built in, even as simple as a linen weave look. Some fun ways to do it would be to grab an embossing folder and add some depth to smooth cs. A CRAZY way might be to spritz any cs with water, then crumple it up into as small a ball as you can. Spritz it again and then spread it out on a flat surface. Leave some of the bumps in it, or iron it with a hot iron to dry the water but leave a cool faux texture. Grab some ink or maybe a coloured medium like Nuvo drops to smooth over the high points or spray stain to darken the crevices. Now you can use as a full background, or cut with dies however you like. Fun, right? 13. BAKERS’ DOZEN. Can you cram ALL of this dozen challenges into one project? Hmmmm?

pantsonfire - sweet doggy layout! I love the perfect use of that die cut! scrappyrabbit - what a sweet page! I adore Peter Rabbit art. You look so cute in your sweet dress with the wee baby belly! I used the "arrows and chevrons" prompt this week to add the title area and embellishment to this page. It was the perfect prompt and made me dig into my dies, so thanks grammadee! layout tony the trail maker by kirstendrew, on Flickr And then last week I finished this layout, and I used the "dotty" prompt to find this wood grain dotted with hearts as my background and it worked so well! signs signs by kirstendrew, on Flickr
