Awesome use of that Sizzling Summer kit, @crafrymom101. Love all the stacking of mats and fun summer elements. Fess up, now: did you gals get dressed like that just so you matched the scrapbook pp?
For the In your FACE photo challenge. Two cousins seeing each other in person after two years.

grammadee no, we didn't coordinate our outfits with each other or the paper! We all laughed when we saw what we were wearing.

Fabulous layout pantsonfire! I Love that arrow paper paired with the black and white. I used it similar to you: cut into strips for movement/directionality. Your embellishing and clusters are perfection.

Dropping this in here before I get too wrapped up in another busy grandkid day... Taking lots of photos this week. Hope to print some tomorrow on my way home from dropping the boys off. Then a l-o-n-g nap... Then I want to start scrapping all the fun.
Lazy Crazy Daze of Summer Week FOUR
1. A little PEA lifting. Let’s try a different shape of inspiration. It always amazes me how Linda and nylene and others can take a square sketch or page design and turn it into a lovely rectangle. Here is one of Linda’s pages from last summer. What can YOU create if you start with this page in mind? Here on the farm I am up to my eyebrows in garden veggies right now, so I think I will go with her garden vibe. How about YOU? For a card to lift this week, let’s take a look at cmpeter ’s lovely floral cards from last summer. What gets your fingers itching to try? The overall design? The popped up diecut pieces? The fresh colours? Her dimensional techniques? Whatever it is, give it a try! 2. Going GREEN. Running with the garden theme, this week’s colour challenge is to use different shades of green anywhere on your project. 3. Oh Snap! (photo challenge) Living color! The challenge this week is to snap something that is both alive and colourful. It COULD by flowers. Or something else that catches your eye, like a butterfly, or someone with pretty hair. I absolutely love the photos taken and shared by @gajenny a couple of weeks ago. Here is one of them 4. We’ve got CLASS! I really love the little corner clusters by Linda’s photo. But clusters are always a challenge for me, so I thought I would find a couple of videos teaching how to create them and how to use them. Here are a couple for you to check out. If you know of better ones, please share. I really want to master this technique before it goes the way of the dinosaurs… www.youtube.com/watch?v=QNZxvF-utkYwww.youtube.com/watch?v=zWUzklr6big5. Count ‘em up! ! Let’s see at least one NUMBER on your page or card. If it can be part of the title or greeting, that’s wonderful. But the number can appear anywhere. This is week FIVE, so the number 5 would be cool to use, right? 6. Theme for Week # 5: GROWTH How does your garden grow? What growth &/or changes have you seen in your kids? Grandkids? Yourself?. What growth would you like to see over the next little while? Has your family grown, or is it about to grow through birth, adoption, marriage? Is there a new furry face in your family photo? 7. HEXAGONS! Growing plants and flowers bring bees to mind. And honeycombs. And, of course, hexagons. Find some hex pp, cut some different papers into hex designs. Stamp a honeycomb background, or do it all! Looking forward to seeing some sweet pages and cards. 8. Start strippin’! Use paper strips as a background. Just slap ‘em on, or weave them, or create some kind of pattern. Or journal in strips. Great way to use those branding strips or other scraps. 9. Play with your NEW toys. Do you have a tool that has not come out of the packaging? Or—like my Spellbinders Glimmer system--has peeked out once or twice but never been allowed to feel at home in your craftroom? Time to get it out and give it a test run. 10. Way Back Machine In the summer of 2018, mom posted this challenge: Let me see your vacation photos! “my challenge is the to dig out those vacation photos and scrap them! Summer, Winter, Fall or Spring - any season will work as long as they are vacation photos” 11. Fabric or fiber. Time to pull out that burlap, or velvet, or sheer fabric you could not part with. Or maybe you still have some of those fun fibre strings from when they were the rage. Pull it out. Use it as a background, an embellishment. Poke a hole through your background and use ribbon or twine or fiber to attach at least one of your elements. 12. Challenge YOURSELF and us! What do YOU want to accomplish, scrapwise, this week? Organize one craft supply? Find your scrappy desk or counter? Put together 4 pages? Or 8 cards? Take some steps to start that vacation album from 2013? Finish a UFO that has been begging you to Just. Get. It. Done. ? Take that new tool out of the box and take it for a spin? Whatever it is, please reply to this thread with a heading #12 CHALLENGE MYSELF and let us know what it is. Later in the week, let us know what you managed to do. 13. BAKERS’ DOZEN. Can you cram ALL of this dozen challenges into one project? Hmmmm?

9. Play with your NEW toys. Do you have a tool that has not come out of the packaging? Or—like my Spellbinders Glimmer system--has peeked out once or twice but never been allowed to feel at home in your craftroom? Time to get it out and give it a test run. I am very excited to be playing with my new scrapping tool - my new MacBook! I have been using my old one with a screen that is washed out, and DD's even older one that can't use the latest Photoshop, ever since I just about killed mine. It has really been hampering my scrapping, making everything take so long. I am hoping that I will now get back to enjoying scrapping again.

Congrats on your new computer! I have a Hero Arts stamp set that has sat in the packaging because I am pouty I cannot find the dies to buy, long discontinued and shipping from overseas is just too much (45 dollars for a tiny die set!) So I am just going to put my big girl pants on and fussy cut those palm trees out!

Sharing some cards I finally got together on the last day to get them into the mail on time... This was a quick one with scraps and stickers. Not sure if it meets any of the prompts. Inside it says 'Aren't you glad we didn't say "our OLDEST"?' #1 son by Gramma Dee, on Flickr Had a bit of time to play this morning. A couple of anniversary cards using the rainbow prompt. Used TH Oxides.

Lazy Crazy Daze of Summer Week FIVEHere is the list of prompts for this upcoming week. Sorry the images are so huge, but not being a techy, I have no idea how to scrunch them down. Hope there are some papercrafters who have time to play over the next few days. No need to stick with the new prompts. Take a look back at the op and you will find all the July prompts to take on. This week I hope to play along. 1. A little PEA lifting. In July 2021, 950nancy shared this fun page. So many features I want to lift… The layered title. The way she made a giant cluster with the title and all the maritime diecuts, the layering, the colours, and of course the fun photo. And right back to July 2023. MichyM used some of the same colours as in the page above, but her card tends toward the lighter shades. Love what she did with the diecuts: I really need to practice my inking and colouring skills! And I love the clear dots, making the whole card feel dewy fresh. 2. Lakeside. Going with the same palette in both brights and more muted shades, let’s use Bella Blvd’s recent release as our inspiration… 3. Oh Snap! (photo challenge) Into the light! We have been trained to always get the light source behind us when we point the camera. But what if the light is behind the subject? This week, try to get a pic of someone or something with the sun or other light source behind them. 4. We’ve got CLASS! A simple one this week. Five basic ways to use stencils on a card front. Maybe nothing new, but maybe a reminder to use those items in the craftroom that have not played for awhile. www.youtube.com/watch?v=fevIQa-fbzo&list=RDCMUClT5zX0SmP02AWxO228wj_A5. Bigger, higher, deeper! Use a large photo of focal point, giant diecuts or images fussy cut from pp, and/or a title or greeting that demands attention, if only by its size. Go big. Go bold. Stack those behemoths into s huge cluster. 6. Theme for Week # 5 is REFRESH! Do you have a photo or a focal image that feels refreshing just to look at it? Time to get that onto paper! Are there techniques or scrappy supplies that used to be your staples but now have been taking a back burner? Why not pull those neglected skills and goodies out and give them a shake. Try using them alongside newer techniques or supplies, or in different ways than you did in the past. 7. SWIRLS! Speaking of older supplies, do you have some of those huge swirls from a few years ago. Some were on paper, some were precut diecuts. Do you have a stencil that will help you create swirls on your project? Swirls are great to show refreshing splashes of water, but they also work for a number of other scenarios. Let’s see how you twirl your swirls! 8. Be HANDY! Do something by hand. Get inky fingers. Fussy cut or tear something. Handwrite the journaling &/or title. Do a little hand stitching—or faux stitching with a pen, doodle a border or a heart or… 9. Bring out the OLD. Dig deep into your scrappy supplies and bring out some of your oldest. They have been hanging out in that dark bin or drawer just hoping for their chance to shine. Give them that chance! 10. Way Back Machine Let’s go back to Chinagirl828 ’s July 2018 stash challenge. 2peasrefugees.boards.net/thread/80414/july-stash-challenge“Use the below list to inspire your project. You can use one, some or all the prompts on the list. Substitutions are welcome and encouraged. • paper pads • geometrics • project life or similar style cards • something you haven’t opened/used yet • rub ons • wood veneer” 11. Stenciled texture. I think we all have a stencil or two. And I know I have a lot of choices of inks, powders, and wet media to use with them, maybe even some texture pastes. Time to put all that to use for at least one element on a project. Can you use a layered stencil and ink to mimic shadows and light? Or get some real shadows by slathering on the paste. Have some fun. See where it takes you. Hmmmm?

A quick page today, to push past the doldrums... New teen by Gramma Dee, on Flickr This will be a page in next year's calendar. Not sure if it will be for August (photo taken this past week, so close), or October when this lovely young lady turns 13. Hers is the toddler face on my avatar. Where has the time gone?
Was inspired by a DT spread that spoke to me in a Simple Stories promo email. Here it is: Using prompts (7) swirls, (8) did faux stitching with my pen--still using my hands, LOL, and (9) old supplies--dug out some old CTMH for this.
