I'm not feeling the vibe this year. I can barely keep up with my bare bones memory planner.

I don't make cards but I can totally see the appeal of starting on Christmas cards if you make and send a lot. I do scrapbook, but I like to keep my books as current as I possibly can. I do December daily for the month of December. And I type my journaling each day. So when I'm ready to scrap, I just print it and cut it out. I tend to put my album together over new years/early January and then I'm done with it for another year.
Right now I feel behind because I've only done my project life up to March. I usually like to stay on top of it. For me, it's less about being current and more about being able to remember things for my journaling. My scrapbooking has gone through many phases and I have realized that I like it better when I have a decent amount of journaling on my layouts. If I can't remember, then it just becomes about pretty paper and photos. I like story.

I like Christmas but I like it in December and that is it. I'm not ruining my summer by thinking that far ahead.

I'm not a Christmas in July fan either. Right now I'm focusing on summer cards, but I am scrapbooking November to January photos. Maybe that's another reason the companies are releasing fall and winter collections. They know how we scrapbookers roll.

I don’t do anything Christmas related in July, either. It’s hard to get in the mood for Christmas when the temps are 100+ degrees outside.

I find it varies year to year for me...some years I use July to get a head-start on Christmas cards and/or catch up on some past December photos. Some years I don't. But I'm not one to watch Hallmark movies and listen to Christmas music in July either way

Summer is my favorite season. There’s no way I’d ever spoil it with Santas and holly wreaths. I don’t get the appeal AT ALL.
I always assumed people who love Christmas in July are the same people who race to be the first person to put up their tree and brag about leaving it up to February. Don’t get me started on multiple trees, one in every room in the house. Yes, I’m judging. 🤣

Add me to the list: I adore Christmas and all the decorations and twinkle. I keep a Christmas journal and will some day get caught up with my DD.
But I struggle to find the "right time" to scrap Christmas - December is too busy, and once we're into February I do NOT enjoy scrapping Christmas. Poor Christmas!

I am afraid to open the corner cabinet that houses my Christmas crafting supplies. If I do, they will S-P-O-I-N-G out of there and completely take over my craftroom.
But if someone has the time and mojo to make cards ahead or catch up on past Christmases in their albums, I am fine with that. I usually don't join in. Not even in the C in J sales. Unless I see something I coveted and resisted--or found out of stock--last year. Even then, I am reticent to order in case I actually DID cave last November and the unopened package is in that corner cabinet...

I tend to work a bit on Christmas in July for practical reasons. I'm quite busy in September. I try to do some sort of October project. November has some big birthdays. So July works well for me. And as an international, I need to figure out what I want for December Daily way ahead. The one year I left it a little late, I didn't get my goodies in time for DD. I've learnt my lesson. And I need to finish all the prompts for the DD thread! I have to start months ahead or I'm completely overwhelmed come December.
I watch the new Hallmark Dhristmas movies that premiere for Christmas in July. I can sneak in my personal fave, The Muppet Christmas Carol, to get in the mood. But contrary to what I've seen in this thread, I'm a terrible Christmas decorator. I don't have a tree. I bought my very first few bits of Christmas décor only last year. I don't live and breathe Christmas at all. I'm just being practical for what suits my yearly schedule. 😉

I will echo Sleepingbooty. No tree, no decor, no music (unless DS is listening to my Christmas playlist on Prime Music).
I used this down time to work on cards, look through my stash, and order what I need. I also organize my stash.
I do though also work on Halloween/Fall cards and go through my stash for those products too.
DH works for a school district with HR on an extended calendar year and has specific PTOs and he always takes 3 weeks in July. So with him home, school no in session, kids not in therapy (we take breaks in summer), and just lazy, easy going days, I have time to work on cards.
I used to wait until the month before the card swap but then felt rushed and anxious, and overwhelmed. With my starting early, I can take my time and enjoy the process. So for me that is what Christmas in July is about.
Using downtime to get holiday things done.

I must be the odd one out. I scrap non chronologically and whatever inspires me. If it’s new collections, I will scrap in season. Otherwise, I am just as happy doing Christmas in July, summer in December, etc. I don’t really think about the season.

I don't make cards.
I am years behind (and that is very okay...it will get done, when it gets done), so I could be scrapbooking any holiday, at any given time. I don't care either way, when "whatever holiday" product is released. If I see something I love, then I usually buy it....*if* a scrapbook product purchase is in my budget at that given time. Otherwise I add it to my wish list.

I'm not a fairly average Christmas person (just one tree, goes up after Thanksgiving, comes down Jan 6) and even though I will fight anyone who claims the 12 days of Christmas start on Dec 13 I don't have an issue with Xmas in July.
I grew up in NZ where Christmas is in mid-summer, Halloween is in spring, Easter is in autumn and July is the dreariest sickest depressingest month, so I might have a bit less concern about doing things at their proper time. Sort of. (Actually that might have left deep mental scars! lol)
I would much rather do all the Christmas things in their right time but it's more practical to do some things very early. And selling cards meant starting Valentine crafting in November and Christmas in July. Christmas is always busy so if I didn't find time to finish my album July is as good a time as any to catch up. If I leave it until next Christmas I'm never ever going to get it finished and I like having a finished album to look back at on Dec 1st.
I don't find Christmas in July to be invasive enough that I would have a strong opinion about it... Beside Hallmark channel and a couple of posts here is there anything that is in your face promoting Xmas in July? I only follow one crafter who does scrappy Xmas in July (Tracy Fox) and she's very low key.

Otherwise, I am just as happy doing Christmas in July, summer in December, etc. I don’t really think about the season. I’m the same way. Christmas is my favorite holiday, winter my favorite time of year. (If you can call it winter, I live in South Central Texas). But I don’t have to scrap it during the season any more than it bothers me to scrap it in July. I work on whatever floats my boat and makes me feel motivated at the time. Participating and/or reading the CIJ thread is fun and motivating me right now, so July it is! ~ a pea with 6 Christmas trees

I don’t really “get” Christmas in July however as a southern hemisphere pea it’s mid winter for us so if I want to get into the hot cocoa and cozy movie vibes then this is the time! It can be annoying at Christmas when I am walking around in 100 degrees weather and all the Christmas papers have snow on them 😁 Do you wanna build a sandcastle rather than do you wanna build a snowman is my reality every year at Christmas time, so I am constantly getting old collections (or trying to!) to use to scrap if I’m working on current photos.

I'm not big into the events/music/movies at this time of year, but I do find the enthusiasm of others on threads like the Christmas in July one here, are really helpful for motivating me to finish up some Christmas pages for my albums.
