Does anyone use the low tack mat regularly, in place of the normal one? Or if you've used both, can you compare the two for me?
I find the regular Cameo mat WAY too sticky. I know to unstick it with my hands/a tea towel/clean shirt, but even so, it remains too sticky for quite a while (it makes the back of my cuts slightly tacky) and then by the time it isn't TOO sticky I feel like I only get a very short lifespan out of it.

I don't have any trouble with the regular tack. I do pat mine down when new and try not to smooth the vinyl/paper down to hard on a new mat.
If you are getting sticky residue - your cuts are too deep. Try backing off the pressure one or two clicks.

If I put my blade any lower than it is, it doesn't cut through the cardstock all the way. And after maybe 4-5 sheets, most of the tacky residue is gone, no blade change.

Ashley, I use the low-tack for most of my cuts. I really like it. I have used both. Like you, the mat would be so sticky I would sometimes have issues taking up more delicate cuts. I ordered my low-tack mat and haven't had a problem since. What I did notice was after cutting so many items it almost didn't seem sticky at all. I did run it under warm water and did a very light rub with my hands and it seemed to bounce back a bit.
I know what you are talking about with the sticky. With the original mat, I have taken something off and placed it on a page and found that it would almost stick without additional adhesive.
I just ordered another mat from Amazon and forgot to get the low-tack and instead got the regular. It didn't seem quite as tacky as before. I cut some watercolor paper and it released just fine. Now that could have something to do with it being a heavier watercolor paper.

You can wash your mats after they lose their stickyness. I just use warm water and gently rub off the paper and dirt. Don't scrub and don't use soap. Rinse, shake off the water, and let dry. They will be stickier again.
