Before I get into my vent, I want to say that I do like Totally Tiffany's products in general, and she is a lovely person whom I've actually met. That being said, here we go.
I recently contacted TT's customer service about the TT Triangle Traveler that I had purchased from HSN a little over a year ago. I use mine a lot, but I'm not particularly rough with my craft storage. My issue is that the stitching that holds the Velcro strips in place on one of the pouches has pulled away and torn a hole in the plastic pouch. I've repaired it with a piece of packing tape, but I wanted to know if they would replace either the pouch or the bag.
The rep's answer was that "Tiffany is constantly looking for the best manufacturers to ensure the highest quality products for her customers." (OK, but how does that help me here?) She went on to say that, because I purchased it more than a year ago, there was nothing they could do.
While I do understand that a line has to be drawn somewhere in terms of a return time frame, I also expect to get more than a year's worth of use from a product that I spent over $30 on. Sadly, when I see TT items now, I hesitate to buy them. I certainly won't be buying any more bag-style storage from her.
Vent over. Thank you for reading.

Yeah, that CS could’ve been better! They at least could’ve given you a coupon to buy a new one if they felt it was too long since purchase to replace it (but GOOD CS would’ve replaced it anyway!).

There are very few business that would actually replace something after a year, with the exception of Costco and Sams. I would not expect a replacement after a year. At the most, possibly a coupon for your next purchase.

I would've hoped for an assurance that your experience would be noted and a coupon for your next purchase. 20% off would go a long way towards building goodwill without hurting their bottom line. A happy customer usually tells no one but an unhappy one tells everyone...

I agree that they should at least give you a discount on buying a new one, but I suspect that you are not the first to have this issue, and they may have decided they can’t keep replacing or discounting new ones for the unhappy customers. The problem is that velcro stitched to soft plastic is extremely likely to come apart over time, especially after a year, even with gentle use. Scrapbookers like being able to see what is in that clear plastic pouch, but velcro grips tightly and requires the user to pull with enough force to separate it. Plastic just won’t hold up over time. It will tear eventually. I hate items that are stitched to plastic because I do expect them to rip apart eventually.
I think they know they have an issue with the design but don’t want to keep replacing the items, nor pay for a better designed Triangle Traveler.
