Please select the option that describes the way you usually buy patterned papers. TIA.

For cardmaking - a 6x6 pad plus a few 12x12 sheets from the same collection with great b-sides that will work to stretch the designs in the pad.

By the sheet. Hardly ever do I like every single paper. When that is the case, I buy the pad.
I like to have multiples of my favorite papers.

I voted "By the sheet" because that is how I buy most often. But all the other options apply, although I am not quite sure what you mean by Random Destash Inventory.

My preference is by the sheet. I do buy paper pads, but it depends on the price and the amount of usable (based on what I like) paper that I would get from the pad. If I will use 50% of the paper in the pad, that is kind of my deciding factor. I have bought paper pads, absolutely LOVING 25%-30% of the paper. There's a difference between *really liking* and *absolutely loving*. If I absolutely love something then I am willing to splurge >> meaning the price per usable sheets costs more.

If I can see it in person, by the sheet. If it is online, usually by the pack.

Almost always by the sheet, but I do get Hip Kit Club because I like the exclusive papers.

Almost always by the sheet. It’s more cost effective if I only like some of the paper. If I like most of them I’ll go with the collection.

By the sheet for 12x12, but I really don’t scrap that stuff at anymore. I do more Cardmaking a pocket scrapping. I generally pick up 6x6 paper pads and sometimes a few sheets of coordinating 12x12 if the scale of the print works.

all of the above? I keep coming back to this thread but can't decide where to put my vote.
I buy by the sheet, by the collection kit, by the paper pad.
I have bought ONE manufacturer's warehouse box (Pinkfresh) but that's not a go-to for me. I haven't subscribed to a kit since Simply Cardstock stopped so that's not a go-to for me either.
Random destash? I'm all about those and dh has a good habit of picking up random destashes for me at yard sales and flea markets. And I've received some generous raks here as well.

... I am not quite sure what you mean by Random Destash Inventory. Sorry for the confusion. In past threads, posters have mentioned buying a box/lot of random papers, often from defunct brands, at thrift/second hand stores, garage/yard/tag sales, social media groups/marketplaces, etc. I was attempting a succinct descriptor for this type of purchase. HTH.

It depends. For scrapbooking usually by the sheet but for card making by the pad.

When I did a lot of scrapbooking I bought by the sheet. Now that I mostly make cards I buy 6x6 or 6x8 pads.

lilacgal. I voted "by the sheet". Occasionally I will buy a collection but usually I just purchase a few sheets of a line, along with a sticker sheet and maybe an ephemera pack. I used to buy more collection packs when Hobby Lobby carried brands other than their own and also at Tuesday Morning before they closed. In the past I had purchased paper pads but found that I ended up not using perhaps half of the pad so I steer away from them now. Good question PaperAngel.

I buy both buy the individual sheet and collection packs. I put my vote under collection packs, but it is about half and half. Simple Stories is one of my go to brands and my LSS does not bring in many of the lines by the individual sheet, so I am forced to get the whole collection. I generally prefer to buy by the individual sheet though because it allows me to skip over the sheets I don't think I will use, and goodness knows I don't need any extra paper hanging around.

Usually by the sheet. Sometimes by the designer collection pack. I very, very rarely buy a pad but occasionally it happens. I've also buy kits and grab boxes. So evidently I just buy paper any way I can get it.
But I'd say 90% of the time by the sheet.

I voted by the sheet as well. I have done the other options, but I think by the sheet is my predominant way to buy paper! And clearance sheets at that 😂

I usually buy by the sheet, but if the collection is fabulous (Hello, 49 & Market!), I will buy the whole thing. I don't buy all the embellishments, though.

I'm another one who buys by the sheet. I very (very) occasionally buy a collection pack, but I typically only love a couple of sheets from a collection.

I find myself buying collection packs, as I am mostly buying online and buying by the sheet is really tedious - back and forth from product page to shopping basket, and trying to remember how far down the page I was. I'd prefer to buy by the sheet, and would do that more if I could shop in person.

I have , finally, realized that I’m a collection scrapbooker. When I only buy single sheets they tend to sit around forever.
I bought Cocoa Vanilla’s Happy Days by the sheet because there were a few papers I disliked but I bought most of the rest of the collection.

Thanks for your responses. Like many of you, I purchase patterned paper by the sheet - usually for the classic patterns often found on the reverse (e.g. stripes, plaids, dots) & only one sheet/pattern since I use patterned paper sparingly (e.g. strip, block). I cannot remember the last time I bought a collection pack, do not purchase paper pads since I detest the gummy binding, & never bought or subscribed to a LSS/club-curated kit, warehouse box, or destash inventory due to the risk of thin or glossy papers, themed products, & an abundance of (often themed) embellishmsents that will go unused.

I mostly shop pre-orders with ACOT so I generally shop by collection. It could be a collection pack, by the sheet and/or paper pads or a combination of these options.

i prefer to buy those by the sheet because sometimes the collection will have geometric/background papers thrown in there that i don't particular like.

I selected Paper Pad/pack, but I also buy single sheets just as often. I use to always buy single sheets, but with the closure of local stores and having to buy online, I find it harder to pick out every single paper that I might like in a collection.

By the sheet. I've been scrapping a long time. I rarely have a need for an entire collection unless it is very unique.

I generally buy collections; they are easier to access. My closest store tends to focus on bringing in collection packs because she caters more to cardmmakers than scrapbookers. There are 3 other stores on the island where I will get single sheets but I don't get to them as often.
When it comes to American Crafts I tend to wait until I can find single sheets. I like the paper quality more with the singles of AC papers.

I purchase by the sheet for the "geometric/background papers" (& don't buy the collection kit to avoid the themed, especially floating icons, & floral patterns).
