What a crappy time to finally succumb to Covid!
Luckily, I'm staying with my best friend who just had it a month ago so she's still got the antibodies but I had to change my flight back and am hunkering down in her house.
I'm glad that I have fairly mild symptoms that are contained with cold medicine and NyQuil. I just feel like I have a bad cold, no body aches or headaches and I'm not super tired.
Just a PSA that it's still out and alive!

I figure I'll get it eventually. Just so thankful that I've been vaccinated and boostered, and it isn't the beginning where we weren't sure how best to deal with it.

My friend is traveling in Alaska and just got it for the first time. What a sneaky little sucker! Hope you feel better soon.

I really just feel like I have a cold with a cough. I still have my sense of taste and am not super tired. I can only imagine what it would be without the vaccine and boosters.

My sister just caught it again for the 2nd time last week. She’s more miserable this time around than the first. She can’t figure out where she picked it up from. She hasn’t gone anywhere.

Yeah, one of my close friends avoided it for 3 years and caught it from her son (who had also avoided it) who went to college orientation and brought back more than course descriptions.

I think I must have picked it up on the plane ride out here. I work from home and mostly see only family so it would have been my main exposure. I rebooked my flight for Wednesday to be at the 5 days since symptoms started and I will wear a mask. Oh well, the upside is I get to spend more quality time with my BFF who is taking care of me!

Sorry you got sick on your vacation! Yes, whatever this new strain is, it's pretty tough. It went through my school right at the end of the year...I was co-teaching (we had combined two classes for the last week because my teacher was out for surgery and it was just easier to combine the classes than it was for the other teacher to try to write plans for the last week) with a teacher who tested positive the afternoon of the next-to-last-day of school! ![:o](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/shocked.png) We had lots of scrambling that last day, but fortunately I did not have to teach two classes on the last day totally by myself. ![:o](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/shocked.png) lol Anyway, I heard that several other teachers tested positive in the days following the last week of school, and so did I. ugh. Most of us weren't really sick, just uncomfortable and that darn cough that lingers. I've had every vaccine and booster that's been offered, thankfully!

I avoided it for almost 3 years but finally got it last Christmas, at a small gathering of friends. I got pretty sick and had to be off work for 2 weeks, did the antivirals and steroids, took quite a while to no longer feel fatigued but I DID very much enjoy having Christmas off work with a legit excuse!

I hope you feel better - I had a terrible time last summer with zero risk factors - it's a wild virus and it's hard to know who's going to have a rough time!

That's a bummer. Hope you recover quickly and with no lingering effects.
As of last week, my small state (pop. prox. 6 million) was still getting more than 600 new cases in a week.

I'm glad that you aren't feeling too sick. Make sure you stay hydrated.
In our house only my husband has had it and that was a year ago. But I think eventually everyone will get it. I dread it because I have asthma.

I’m in the middle of trial and one of my jurors caught it so we had to call everyone and tell them not to report to court. Many of the people I spoke to were like wait, that’s still out there? Indeed it is.

I'm sorry. I got it overseas in May and had to travel home with it. Shockingly, immunity is not granted by being on vacation ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/Q_m8lDOvc_3Le3r1GKdf.jpg) Feel better soon.

I’m so sorry! Glad you had somewhere to stay to wait it out. Hope you feel better soon.
We just had it again, and our friends both had it while on an Alaskan cruise last week, so yes, it is definitely still out there!

My husband just read tonight in the AARP magazine that the at risk people can now get another booster. I will be asking my doctor about it at my appointment tomorrow.

I hope you recover quickly!
I also have it for the first time after a weekend trip last weekend. I masked on the plane so I doubt it got it there but I didn't wear it in the airport and in retrospect, that was dumb. I felt like I had a mild cold with a cough for 3 days but yesterday I woke up and couldn't taste anything. Took the test and that sucker lit up bright red 2 seconds later so I guess I'm shedding a lot of virus right now. My taste is already coming back though. Don't tell my family but so far, I haven't minded being quarantined to the bedroom, lol! I've got a case of Polar Selzer water, my laptop, the dog and no obligations. It's almost like a staycation!
I spoke to our accountant yesterday and she said "Covid? Who still gets Covid?"
