Good morning.
I got up early and ran to the store. I've decided that I'm going to have a good day today. Sometimes it's really a choice. Ods has 2 interviews and I really hope that he'll give serious thought to the middle school, this afternoon. It's in a great area and housing is abundant and affordable, sort of. Yds just found out that he got a 1 bdrm apt in grad student housing. He has a very challenging roommate and this is great news. I have one video appt and the rest of the day is up for grabs.
Dinner will be Chicken picatta. What's on your menu?
What's on your agenda today?
Wishing all a delightful day! Today is ours, tribe.

Great news about your DSs scrapmaven . Can't wait to hear where ODS lands! Off to run errands. Dinner will be AF thighs. Yesterday I received the 40% off text so we had pizza.

Today has been very weird here weatherwise. Right now we have bright sunshine, but we have had on and off showers and even hail at one point. This morning I had a nail appointment, so I have pretty fingers and toes ready for vacation. I have also finished the knitting on my new top - it just needs side seams, ends woven in and a nice bath to be ready to wear. DH continued his medical errand running around, going to the optometrist for an eye check. His new glasses will arrive in the week after we get back. Dinner tonight is beef stew, that DH put in the slow cooker while I was out this morning. With it being much cooler today, he decided we could have something other than grill and salad! Have a great rest of today everyone. scrapmaven - I hope your DS's interviews go well.

Thank you ladies. I'm hoping that he loves the 2nd interview and that the principal loves him.
sueg , dh's practice retirement is going really well. Really Really Well. So, I don't think he's gonna wait 2 years. Is your dh considering retirement sooner rather than later? We're all about the same age.

I don't think so at this point. He was considering it late last year, when his boss was moved on from the company and then he (DH) didn't get the position, but he likes the new boss and new boss seems to like him and wants to keep him around, so we'll see. He still has 5 years before German retirement age and so when we could claim our German pensions. The main upside to retiring early would be moving back to Australia to be closer to family.

Another hot one here today. Tomorrow will be severe thunderstorms with possible hail and a risk for tornado. It seems like our storms are getting worse. We used to be able to sit on the deck during a thunderstorm and watch the lightning and enjoy the cooling rain. Now we almost need to take cover during every storm.
The neighbour came over the other day with a $50 bill and asked DH to cut his grass while they are away on vacation. We enjoyed a dinner out the other night with the money so DH is now there keeping his part of the deal.
I’m off to my monthly supper with my former coworkers. We are working on the alphabet and tonight is the letter G. We will be going to a restaurant called “Grind”.
Tomorrow is a huge book sale put in by our local library. It’s $5.00 per bag for as many books as you can stuff in the bag. My mom and I will share the books so I’ll be stocked up for awhile.

so another socked in grey foggy day.. just as I like it. so, in the last 6 weeks, I have lost between 15-20 lbs. lots to go yeah!! dog has an appt this morning. so that's what I am doing.. I drive dh and dog to the vet 1 mile down the road, cause there is probably no parking available. I drop off and pick up.
so tonight I am making asian broccoli chicken salad.. with strawberries for dessert. maybe go to goodwill this afternoon.
we made plans for a trip to dc to visit our son and his wife in december. and I added up that I need to board our dog 38 days this fall.. because we have lots of trips lined up.. time to contact the person who watched the dog before.
I also need to get our backpacking stuff out and organized. dh and I are doing a big 2 mile hike on a beach and camp for two nights.

I must’ve missed some thing. Lol. Did he leave his last job? Due to declining enrollment most of the 1st year teachers didn't have their contracts renewed. There weren't enough students to teach. It sucks, because it came w/affordable, brand new housing. Now he has to move as well as change jobs.

I have only ever taught middle school/junior high so I definitely recommend it to your ds scrapmaven! It's challenging but the kids are fun. Ex was asking me when I though Emma would "get a job" ... ummm, she has a job ... being a sub is a job! . Idiot. I loooove chicken piccata! Mainly because I love lemons and capers! I ran errands this morning and I have a couple of loads of laundry to do ... My mum is coming over for dinner ... we will have a recipe from Hello Fresh ... I'll let her choose!

I think BLTs are what's on the menu for tonight.
It is hot and humid and is going to get worse the rest of the week.

I've decided that I'm going to have a good day today. Sometimes it's really a choice. Yes, it truly is. Don't beat yourself up if every effort doesn't pull you through. Some days are like that. And yes, I totally beat myself up about them. I'm just flying by the thread right quick. Work has been busy. I just got up this morning and got all logged in and my mom called to tell me she broke her wrist when she was getting out of bed this morning. She had my nieces and one niece had appointments and she needed to get medical help so she asked me to help niece. My sister can't really leave work as she's a dental hygienist. And her husband was out of town on business. So I stepped in to help. I already was having a busy week at work and this just put me behind. I also have another meeting coming up this afternoon. I'm not sure what is for dinner. We really need to hit up the store. We have no food and ended up with takeout tacos last night.

I was up and out early to walk with DF, we did 4.25 miles by 9am (Early for Amy)...I would have preferred being done by 8 at the latest.....however she is older than me🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Dinner is cold choices, I made tuna salad, egg salad and have lettuce tomato and cukes, so I will make salad plates..Dh passed on sandwiches so just plates. I have watermelon and cherries for dessert. Simple and easy. As with scrappert it is going to get hotter and more humid as the week goes on😳

Thank you for the encouragement leannec. He is concerned about middle school, but I reminded him that teaching middle school is much easier than being in middle school. He has a few different interviews, but this is his only middle school interview. jeremysgirl, how is your mom doing? What are the doctors saying? You have a very busy day and I hope that after work you'll do something really nurturing for yourself.

Urgent care took the xrays and referred to an orthopedic. She's in a splint right now and we are hoping they can get her in quick. It wasn't dislocated, though, so we are optimistic it will only be a cast.

taylortroop I love eating through the alphabet idea. I’m going to propose that to my friends. I actually met 2 of my mom friends for breakfast. It was so nice to not have to do anything. We had the shower this weekend at my house and my sisters and dd1&3 plus Luke. He now has hand foot & mouth and is in misery. I feel bad for dd. Her dh is traveling for work. I’m going over when I can. At a hair appointment then stopping at some places on this side of town for stuff for my Ireland trip next week. Dinner is whatever I feel like I guess. I hope your ds gets settled soon scrapmaven. 🤞🏻your mom heals quickly jeremysgirl.

Tomorrow is a huge book sale put in by our local library. It’s $5.00 per bag for as many books as you can stuff in the bag. My mom and I will share the books so I’ll be stocked up for awhile. how fun! our library here doesn't do that but the one in the bigger city 45 minutes away does a sale twice a year and we often go on 10 cent day. Last weekend we were in the big city (2hrs away) and stopped by their library sale - $15/bag, buy 2 bags, get one free. We're more than stocked up on books, lol. My mom broke both arm bones above her wrist. prayers DD16 is having a blast on her visit to DD22 and DS31 so it's just DH and I for dinner this week and next. I'm making meatloaf tonight and we'll eat it tomorrow also. Sunday and Monday we had sloppy joes. Both per DH's request...

Popping in real quick to say hi. Been a busy work week but very productive. Waiting on DH so we can head to the county fair. Today was beef day so will go watch the championship drive tonight. Today is a big day at the fair. It’s the day you see everyone from the county that you haven’t seen since last year at the fair Good luck to your son scrapmaven. I’m so sorry for your mom jeremysgirl. Dinner will be something from the pork or beef producers.

Hello all! Yes, I still exist. Last week was so busy, and today is the first time I’ve had any quiet time. So of course the boys showed up and said, what’s for lunch? Still, it’s good to see them. Not sure about dinner. I defrosted chicken soup stuff, so probably that. jeremysgirl, sorry to hear about your mom’s big owie. Hope it’s an easy recovery for her. scrapmaven, I’m wishing your DS the perfect job. So unfair that he couldn’t stay in that district he liked. I am not a teacher, but I always thought that if I were, I’d prefer teaching middle school level. I know they’re obnoxious, but I find most of them charming all the same (when they aren’t mine).
