Good morning.
Apart from a quick errand in a few minutes, it's another slow day. Dh has been so busy on his project that I am not seeing much of him, despite being in the same house. So, It's a bit too quiet. I think today he's gonna be able to move back into the room. Woohoo. I've been practice knitting and relaxing.
We have rechauffe chicken picatta and pork chops. He can choose his dinner.

There are banana walnut muffins baking right now.
There is a demolishment of a former hockey area across the street from me. All I hear is machine noises.
I'm going to my friend's home this afternoon to get away from this noise.
Dinner will be whatever my friend is making. I'm bringing the muffins to her place to share.
Hot & hazy outside. Grateful for air conditioning.

Good morning ! I'm not doing much today but relax and watch some food network and HGTV that I have on my dvr.
I also put in a grocery order and am waiting for that to come.
Not sure what we are having for dinner. Hubby has had a toothache for the past couple of days and is gong to the dentist this afternoon. We might end up having soup.

btw, dh asked the kids of the famous physicist who was involved at los alamos during the manhattan project about the oppenheimer movie. the older one.. who was a child during this.. said she didn't think the actors portrayed the characters well.. she knew the real people and couldn't suspend her knowledge.. the younger sibling.. who was born in los alamos.. said he thought that ernest lawrence was well portrayed.. he knew ernest well as earnest was his parent's in-law. their dad never wanted to be famous or well known.. so you never hear about him in the news stories. course as a nobel laureate.. you can only be so "hidden"..
anyway, another grey day. off to the gym. then getting out backpacking gear to get organize for our trip.. and we are leaving mid week next week for our place in idaho. on vacation for a couple of weeks.

We are dropping my car off this morning for its 30,000 mile service. They charge as much as a house payment but we think it's money worth spent since we usually keep cars for close to 10 years. We're going to see Mission Impossible at noon and, hopefully, when we get out, my car will be ready to pick up. Dinner will be salmon.  |

I had an early start this morning as I had an appointment for bloodwork with my doctor at 8:20am. At least I didn’t have to worry about breakfast before setting out! It’s days like this where I’m glad I switched to a GP just a 10 minute walk from home. I came home after and had breakfast - all done before 9am. Plenty of time to get a load of laundry done before going out again.
I had a hairdresser appointment in the city at 1:30pm, so I headed in at about 10:30, had a bit of a wander around and then lunch beforehand.
Dinner tonight is pork cordon bleu, probably with potatoes. DH is working out our menu for the next few days based on what we have in the fridge and pantry, so we don’t have to throw much out before we leave.

DH's dad never really talked about his involvement in the Manhattan Project until DS needed to interview someone who was *involved* during WWII. Most kids interviewed their grandfathers who were soldiers. My FIL really opened up and talked about being the plant manager for one of the reactors where they enriched the plutonium for the bomb. |

Hot and sticky here. SO only had to work a few hours since there are pop up storms all over.
Bad news is that our water heater is leaking! Didn't we just talk about water heaters here?
He picked one up after he worked and it will get installed today/tonight. His uncle is going to help and he is retired so it may all be done by the time I get home.
We had no issues with having hot water which is good. It just looks like a slow leak at the bottom. This one is 35 years old so it did it's job very well!
I'm sure the new on will last less than half of that time!
Dinner may be BLTs again. Easy and good!

Going out for dinner to some fancy Mexican place that my brother wants to try. Mom and I can only get him off our backs by submitting. I wish he’d find a girlfriend.  Will be back later to read the posts. |

Delta Dawn I'm so sorry that happened! I hope you recover quickly. Went to the podiatrist and took the sweet furball to the vet. Walked and worked in the garden. Tonight is uncertain. We may take out Chinese food from a new restaurant we have been wanting to try.

Started off the morning at 7 with the deck people digging the posts and cutting the invisible dog fence. They say they’ll fix it. They’ll be back tomorrow morning. Then painters and a carpenter came to do repairs. The tile guy, shower door guy and gutter people were no shows. Pissed because dh booked this and then went out of town. So I had to skip the studio. I’m working on mini flower presses and the guy at the hardware store gave me some suggestions I wanted to try. Boo hoo me 😂 @deltadawn you should get checked. You could have whiplash or a concussion. Made Parmesan crusted chicken with broccoli & zucchini. Dad and Luke are coming. He’s not eating anything yet with his hand foot & mouth virus. Enjoy your dinner out with your brother lucyg |

destined2bmom.. it is not my kids comments.. it is the comments of the kids of physicist who was at los alamos.. this guy got a nobel for a significant discovery of an element.. and was in charge of a lab at los alamos. his son was my dh's college roommate and we know all the family.
my kid did a paper on him in grade school.. I think based on family stories from the kids.. I met him a few times and dh visited with him quite a bit. his wife was a party person so there was always an open invitation.
delta dawn.. just want to say sorry for the trouble with the accident. take care of yourself

Today was the library book sale and it was awesome! I got two bags of books - 39 books in total - for $5.00 per bag. I took my mom and she got one bag. I think we are stocked up with reading material for a bit. Some of the books were almost brand new but out of circulation for some reason. I just went through them all and couldn’t decide which one to start reading so I had DH pick one out of the bag.
This morning DS asked me to pick up grandboy#3 from daycare because he had loose stools. He had been given a laxative the day before because he has issues going to the bathroom. The daycare policy is to send a kids home with diarrhea so it doesn’t spread. They didn’t care that the cause was the laxative. Thankfully I can help at times like this but I feel bad for other parents who have no help or support system.
Thankfully DH was able to watch the grandboy while I went to the book sale. I would have been bummed if I missed it.
My supper last night with my former coworkers was great. I had fish and chips and they were delicious. Tonight’s supper was fajitas.

I thought it was about time I cooked something for dinner. I've been in lazy girl mode since we got back. I asked DSO what he felt like, and he said he was craving mashed potato, and asked for "bangers and mash" (sausages and mashed potato).Nice and easy! I had salmon with lemon sauce instead of sausages.

About 5 minutes before it was over, I turned to DH and said, *I forgot to tell you this is Part One of the movie!* Oops. We saw previews for the Hunger Games prequel which comes out in November. Take, good, loving care of our friend, Delta Dawn. leannec, I hope that you feel fine by tmw. scrappert, I had my water heater replaced last week. I feel for you. It's a big stinking expense for a very necessary, but boring item.
