I've had a lot of fun playing with paper. And stitching! I'm halfway done with the Paige Evans trees you stitch. OMG. I am loving making them. So gratifying. So freaking cute. I'll post a pic when I'm done.
Thank you for posting this! I've got my Paige Evans foundations sheets all done...with the exception of the stitched trees. On the class handouts, Paige stated that it took her 8 hours to stitch them all, and I've been putting off starting. But you just inspired me to pull the package out and I'll work on it a little at a time. Maybe a tree a day? Anyway, I can't wait to see yours! I will be using the Sugarplum Wishes album for my 2018 December Daily...I started in 2019 and I plan on working backwards each year. But I also bought Ali's kit, and that's what I'll be using for this year's album. I'll be watching Prep Day on replay because I'm having an early Thanksgiving this Saturday for family who will be out of town next week.

Here are my little trees: http://instagram.com/p/CztkZePuqtk I am giving two away so I only stitched 6. I don't think it took me 8 hours though. I just did it over 2 nights while watching TV. I pulled sequins from my stash. I am new to french knots and am very proud of myself for them. margie these are so fun! You'll love working on them. I pulled up the photo that Paige shared on instagram on my phone. I had taken a screenshot of it. It helped to see what she did. She also did French knots in white over two of them but I left them off for now. I might go back and add more.

I never mastered French knots. Yours look so great! I always struggled with them until I read someone explain how to do it. It was the first time it made sense. The key is to tighten the thread down close to your paper while still on the needle before you poke it through and pull.

Wow, blemon, your trees look fantastic! I haven't done French knots in decades, so I'll have to look for a YT video to refresh my memory. I had to do the same for the chain stitch! And even then, I had to pull out the threads and re-do two branches because I messed up. I stitched one tree last night, and will do another today.

I had to do the same for the chain stitch! The chain stitch can be a beast, for sure. I'm not sure I'm even doing it right but it looks ok enough.

blemonthose trees are WAY TOO cute!! What are your plans with them? Also did anyone else buy Paige's acetate sheet? It's beautiful but good gravy it's the THICKEST plastic I think I've ever dealt with. I wanted to cut out some circles but none of my dies can get a clean cut and I'm ending up using scissors to finish it off.. which isn't the worst and I doubt anyone else would be able to tell but I know they're not perfectly circular lol

I don't know what I'm going to do with them yet. Definitely a filler page but not sure for what. I'm hoping to get some ideas this weekend. I really don't want to pay for Paige's class since I already bought the AE classes. I bought the acetate sheet. I pulled it out this morning for work. I'm going to go ahead and cut it down to the size of the page and punch holes. I'll store it in my album until I have a plan. It is so beautiful and perfect that I will likely just put a number on it and have it be an overlay to a page. I'm thinking I might punch one of the cards from the advent calendar. I could hand stitch a little border around it. It could hang from the top on a ribbon. So many options. My plan tonight is to finish up the pages I have started (get them to a point where I can punch holes and put in the album, not like finish-finish them). I also want to go through my papers and pull out stuff I really want to include and start coming up with ideas.

In the class, Paige had us cut it into a full-size page and then put a sticker cluster on it. I cut it down, but didn't add the stickers because I wasn't sure what I wanted on it yet. I ended up putting a cluster of 1/2 inch paper strips (cut from the collection) in a circle, very similar to what blemon posted up-thread. I love it, but haven't decided what to put in the center of the circle yet. It may be my title page.

blemon, since Paige's trees have single holes already punched for each stitch, did you pull the thread down into the same hole? Or did you punch another one?

I used the needle that was in the package. It was a good fit for the project. I will say on the green tree with the light green stitching on two rows in the center, I think the stitches were too close together and I wish I would have skipped one for each stitch and made them longer. If you look at her sample, it looks more like that (fewer stitches).

blemon, your trees are so beautiful! I don't do a lot of fancy stuff in my scrapbooks, but one of my goals is to incorporate more stitching. I will probably stick with simple shapes, but I love the look. I don't know all that much about Paige Evans's products. I've purchased a few papers here and there. Does she offer a stitching kit?

How is everyone feeling about the Product Play lessons so far? Im in a mood (Ive dealing with kidney stones at the moment) but I thought todays was very basic and honestly, disappointing. Adding a velvet ribbon and cutting a transparency in half is what you're showing us?

How is everyone feeling about the Product Play lessons so far? 50/50 A couple of really good days and then a couple of "do what?" days. I have been very disappointed in the lessons that show you how to do what you'd expect to do with the product. Like I know how to use cards and stick them in pockets. I know how window cards work. Product play to me means "play." Not product-just-use-the-product. In the past I felt that you would get ideas to do something a little different or unexpected, imaginative. I'll buy it again (on sale and with the coupon, if possible). I really enjoy having a little crafty time at lunch at work so it's worth it for me.

dealing with kidney stones at the moment So sorry to hear this. I hope they pass soon. I can't imagine how painful that must be. And so weird that your body just produces stones. So weird. I haven't watched today's lesson yet. You'd think they would have juried the ideas before putting them in the class.

How is everyone feeling about the Product Play lessons so far? Some days are better than others. I agree about the page with the velvet ribbon. How did that make the cut? And the one where she used the stencils (?) were so messy I couldn't even tell what product she used except for the paint. I get that they're trying to get us to be free and creative but it doesn't need to look like a kindergartner did the page. mom, hope the stone passes soon for you.

Happy Prep Day!
I'm planning to follow along this morning and do some work on my 2022 DD as I watch.
Excited for some inspiration and crafting today!
I couldn't find the Bingo card, so hopefully it will be in the class files when it opens.

Happy DD prep day! Sooo my plans for today, get my supplies organized for tomorrow, because I’m working the mayor hours today and catch up tomorrow to watch the recorded sessions. My plans for DD this year: I will use the floral album from last year with an A to Z theme, but many alphas will be catched by a photohunt documented and I decided to do 12 stories in December, because I didn’t finished one single year of documenting. I’m a great starter, but failed in finishing. (Upps) i‘ll work on prep pages, so maybe this will be the key ( fingers crossed) So I will do a small Notebook to jot down ideas and stories to catch up in January when life gets to busy in December. But I will also do an advent mixed media project - I ‚m not decided on the format jet, because I like to transform little golden books into art journals, but I thinks this could be to big to stay on track daily. I bought the corresponding journal with the same florals from this years collection, maybe I should just use this up? We’ll see. And I just found one of my 12 stories today, because 2023 is the 50th anniversary of the famous movie „Drei Nüsse für Aschenbrödel“ a movie wich is a holiday staple in german TV and happens to be one of my favorite holiday movies. It has everything, humor, wintery landscapes, a real romantic castle (Schloss Moritzburg in Saxony), lovely costumes and fabulous music. (Swoon) Do you know this movie in th US? It’s called three nuts for cinderella or three wishes for cinderella in English en.wikipedia.org/wiki/T%C5%99i_o%C5%99%C3%AD%C5%A1ky_pro_Popelkuwww.imdb.com/title/tt0070832/

How is everyone feeling about the Product Play lessons so far? Like the others, some days are too basic in my mind to warrant inclusion, but several I have loved. Some years, there are some super over the top that I thought were too much. I have not seen anything like that this year. I have at least 3-4 foundation pages/spreads already from Prod Play that I really like, so for me, that is a big win. I will definitely mine more ideas from the first 15 days (some I liked but need more time to think about how I want to use) and hope to get some additional ideas from the remaining. I will try to add some below, altho my lighting has been terrible this week. I am totally looking forward to prep today!! https://www.instagram.com/p/CzOmMPVuaCw https://www.instagram.com/p/CzuAU11OU6T

Beautiful pages @texas Scrap I think I remember reading there were complaints about the over the top pages and so they are offering more beginner and intermediate level ideas.I agree with others that some of the ideas are too basic to be included in the class.

And we're off! DD Prep Day is live! At the risk of sounding dumb, what happens now for Prep Day? Ali did her welcome video, and now what? We just chat in the live chat on Vimeo? So, there's no live streaming with a bunch of people while we do our thing? It's just 15 minute videos every hour and then we're on our own for 45 minutes? As you can tell, I've never done Prep Day, I'm used to Crop and create type of events, so I'm just trying to figure out where I'm supposed to be.

Do you know this movie in th US? It’s called three nuts for cinderella or three wishes for cinderella in English I will look to try to find one with English subtitles. It sounds amazing. Ali did her welcome video, and now what? We just chat in the live chat on Vimeo? So, there's no live streaming with a bunch of people while we do our thing? It's just 15 minute videos every hour and then we're on our own for 45 minutes? After this hour, Ali comes on at the beginning of every hour just like now, then there is a recorded lesson. The lessons are usually about 20-25 minutes long. Then you have some time to play and make pages. I just printed out my bingo card and I am doing some more stitching (and popping in here).
