…that their “ephemera pack” and their “ephemera pack-cards and tags” are the same flipping thing!??😝😂
To me anyway, it just seems like it’s more of the same in another pack. I tend to think “ephemera packs” should lean more towards the icons in the collection: globes, taxis, a house, a pair of flip flops, a pinwheel, etc something that’s repeated from the paper or theme. Not just more tags with sayings!
Ok. Rant over, carry on!

My pet peeve is that they use the same die molds for every collection, so the diecuts/ephemera/tags etc. are always the same shapes for every collection and most of them are too small for me.

Most of their collections all look the same.

In addition to Ephemera & Frames/Tags, a Titles/Phrases cardstock die cut pack is introduced in select Echo Park/Carta Bella collections from the July, August, September, & October releases (ETA: as linked & discussed HERE & THERE). I was hoping this meant a delineation between packs = themed diecuts corralled in an Ephemera pack, only frames/tags (& perhaps non-themed tabs, labels, etc. in the collection's color palette) in a Frames/Tags pack, & various sizes of titles/phrases filling the Title/Phrases pack. Instead, all three embellishment packs are similar...UGH!

I also find it annoying that a company will chart $4.99 for a pack of tags/journaling pieces, but many Simple Stories collections include a 12x12 page of tags for the cost of a sheet of paper, and collections like Vicky B and Shimelle include a cut aparts sheet that easily equates to a "pack" of ephemera...
Ephemera packs should be generally icons that would require fancy cutting - even just stars, hearts, flowers - but less of simple tags, journaling squares and word strips that I would happily cut out of a sheet of pp.

Like the chipboard, I really wish they would split the ephemera into icons and words. I always end up with way too many word pieces and wish I had more icons.

Thank you! I've been bothered about this for years.
I seldom get the ephemera packs from EP for the reasons you mentioned. And everything is square or rectangular. I use die cuts to break up the squareness of my layouts and all EP does is add more squares!
When I get an EP or CB collection I usually only get the stickers because they aren't nearly as square. Also, I don't need a ton of phrases- I like pictures better. I can add my own words.
I love Doodlebug die cuts because you can get a whole huge (although expensive) pack of just icons and shapes. And they have another pack of just words and phrases. So much better.
I like 49 & Market die cuts for layering but I wish they had more things that aren't square (although the latest line is a bit better). They also use the same die molds so all of their irregular (like faux tearing) edges are exactly the same.
I love this topic. I have a couple of other complaints about ephemera and stickers that I'll put in another thread.

I rarely buy their collections since they usually aren’t my style. But just in case I find something the above info is good to know.

I will also add that I need more blank (or framed) tags, journaling boxes, frames, etc. All of the pieces in their collections have something on them, which makes layering difficult.

Same here. The ephemera packs are just a bunch of thin tag type things I can cut or make myself. Give us some of the collections icons to mix in our projects. This is the reason I never order their collections, I want icons to use with them. The stickers are the only things that work for this. Even the chipboard is a lot of signs.

My pet peeve is that they use the same die molds for every collection, so the diecuts/ephemera/tags etc. are always the same shapes for every collection and most of them are too small for me. This annoys me to no end…I realize that tags are all rectangle/square, but that’s a classic, workable shape that you can customize if you want, but come ON with the scalloped edges and exact same shapes in every collection.
