Besides Nuvo drops and similar products, what have you tried? I just watched a YT video where the crafter used diamond dots and some other tiny beads on her papercrafting project. Have you tried diamond dots or any other enamel dot alternatives? What has worked well for you as finishing touches on your layouts?

I've used sequins and splatters, as well as some really tiny puffy stickers. I also regularly use splatters of ink, paint or mist, both on their own or with enamel dots. I have also used Nuvo dots, but didn't love how they flattened a bit in my page protector. I love enamel dots and will be watching this thread to see what people recommend.
ETA: I also recently did a layout where I dug out some of my old brads and used them instead of enamel dots. I think I will be doing this more as I have no shortage of brads.

I’ve used brads, Nuvo drops and Diamond Dotz. I prefer Nuvo drops and don’t mind if they flatten, enamel dots are fairly flat anyway. I don’t like sequins because of the hole but I did try making my own using alcohol ink on an acetate sheet and punching them out.

They don’t have a huge range of colors, but they are really pretty and come with 3-4 sizes in a package.

I’ve purchased nail art embellishments from Amazon. You can find a wide assortment and variety for a reasonable price. Flat back rhinestones, stickers/decals, flat back “pearls”, a wide assortment of crystals, gems, slices, glitter, sequins and more. There’s a large variety of colors and seasonal themes. Of course, since they are specifically for nail art, the items are tiny, but I find they work well for accents and finishing touches on my paper crafts.

I've actually used punched paper holes (or rather, the filled in part that falls out) with or without diamond glaze, because why not? 😄 I have a larger hole punch and a heart-shaped one--very handy.

Sequins seem to be my most reached for alternative. I especially like the packs that come with multiple sizes.
I also use super old bling occasionally. Kaiser Craft used to make some that had multiple sizes in one pack and I bought the whole color range at the time, in multiples. They fit the look on certain types of layouts.

I found a baggie of diamond dots at the thrift store but haven’t used them yet. I like Liquid Pearls and the eraser on the end of a pencil stamped with an ink pad.

For all of the peas who love sequins but hate the holes try honey bee stamps confetti - they are sequins without holes and they have a range of colours: honeybeestamps.com/en-au/collections/confettiThere was another brand that had a lot more options without holes as well but for the life of me I can’t remember which one, all our card peas may know!

I watch a few cardmakers who use products from Pretty Pink Posh, Studio Katia, Honey Bee... I believe they all have flat sequin type things without holes and/or other sparkly bits like iridescent gems. I don't use much in the way of dimensional embellishment partly because every place has too many options and I get paralyzed trying to choose. For card donations most places say that cards with sequins on them will almost never still have sequins on them when they reach their destination (which I've found to be true when receiving cards) so I skip them and mostly use tiny clear dew drops or something like Nuvo drops/Hero Arts lacquer pen dots, or flat things.

I love enamel dots. I own an insane amount of them and use them all of the time.
I also use sequins and flat back pearls a lot. They come in a lot of the NJFB kits so I have accumulated quite a variety of them over the years. I don't mind the hole in sequins.
I use brads sometimes but need to use them more- I have so many of them from back in the day.
I also use polymer clay slices sometimes. They are so cute.
And wood pieces. I buy a lot from Shadnee. She has an amazing variety of shapes.
I've never been tempted by Nuvo drops because I'm impatient and don't like waiting for them to dry.

Elsabelle, this has given me a big laugh this morning! Thanks for posting this. Several years ago (I don't remember where I read about this) I bought a huge container of Perlier (sp?) beads and melted them on cookie sheets in the oven. It took me forever and I was so proud of my little globs of melted plastic. But they were just a little too thick for my liking and weren't exactly easy to adhere - I had mini-glue dots stuck everywhere. So now I just bite the bullet and pay for the real enamel dots.

I don't use much in the way of dimensional embellishment partly because every place has too many options and I get paralyzed trying to choose. I go with what's on sale! Easy. I also use micro glue dots on embellishments that aren't self-adhesive. The only evidence I have that this works better than liquid glue is a notecard that was sent back to me to thank me for gifting the set of notecards (recursive enough?). It had a little sort of translucent square plastic embellishment that was still adhered when it arrived back to me.
