I had to dig up my few year old blackberry bush this year. I potted it until I found a new home and i've decided since it's doing well I kind of like it in the big planter I put it in.
I think we're zone 6ish. I'm concerned about winter. Is it possible for it to stay in the pot and survive a cold, snowy winter? Any preparation tips, cover it maybe? I could slide it into the garage also, which is slightly warmer than the outside.
Thanks for any advice.

Blueberries need a lot of days with temps below 45. I’m in zone 7 and while not a lot of berries last year my potted plant has survived snow and ice( we generally get a couple of snow days) and temps in the 30’s

Hard to say with blackberries which can approach weed status in NoVA. The problem with them potted is that the roots are exposed to much more severe cold in a pot than in the ground. Pots, with less soil and above ground, expose plants to more severe temperatures in both directions (colder and hotter).
If I were you, I’d pull the pot into the garage when nights routinely drop below 50 degrees.

If it was in the ground I'd say not to worry, but as it's in a pot I agree with elaine to put it in the garage or other more temperate place. Hydrangeas do just fine here, but I totally killed one in a pot last winter.
